More than half the time, the sand stops mid way and I manually have to shake for it to continue.

I was really impressed with the quality and beautiful colors of this sand art set. It is much prettier and larger than I expected. It is fun and relaxing to create endless designs. It was expertly packed in a box nice enough for gift giving. Drawbacks: lack of a frame around the glass to protect against chipping and a two-piece stand set that does not feel very stable. Overall I am very satisfied with the product and feel it was a good value for the price.

If you need a gift for a hard to shop for person, GET THIS! I knew I'd like this "picture" but I didn't realize just how much! I can't rave enough! First, it comes gorgeously packaged. I literally set mine in front of the TV and the family laughed because we're so much more entertained by watching the beautiful scenes form than anything on tv these days, lol. It really is mesmerizing! Even my son, who is impossible to buy for, mentioned he wouldn't mind having one for his room. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this purchase!

Almost didnt buy since there are cheaper options. I liked the colors and crossed my fingers. Delightfully surprised. Came beautifully boxed with excellent array of sand colors. Note that as the gas sits, the bubbles will join. You shake vigerously to make small bubbles. Then I flip the frame extremely slow so bubbles move to the sand and seat themselves first. If you adjust the angle so that bubbles are evenly dispersed you can get an exceptionally slow pour of sand. Its not hard to get this unit to funnel sand over a 24 hour period! Faster speeds are easy too, but slower ones yield some incredible designs that look like mountain tops or pyramids or the sand dunes they actually are. It would also be a good educational toy to teach about fluid dynamics and weather because it genertaes beautiful eddies and downbursts when you get a good drip rate in the sand. The cheap one from another manufacturer that i bought for $10 was junk, and had i not wisely chosen this at the same time, i might not have ordered this one. So glad I did. If you like this sort of thing, you will be happy with this maker.
