Updated to 5*
Read updated review part too. Original review This seemed to be the perfect replacement for my old Roomba and it is much lower in height. But it has to be connected to the wifi in order to work and my wifi is 5GHz or 2.4GHz and it smartly chooses which is the best one to use for the device. However no matter what I tried this Eufi would not connect to the my wifi. So I had to send it back. Disappointing as all the Eufi vacuums are wifi and I don’t trust that any will work now. So will be steering clear of them from now on. Updated After my initial review above. Eufy customer services contacted me to find out if they could help with the wifi issues. They were very helpful. Eventually I worked out how to turn off the SmartConnect function on my NetGear router. Once I did this the Eufy hoover connected straight away. I could then turn SmartConnect back on and it stayed connected. As you can see from the photo the Eufy is not much smaller in diameter to the Roomba 650 (caveat in all this review, the 650 is old so not really a fair comparison). Though the diameter is roughly the same, the Eufy is marginally lower in height and this makes a big difference as it fits under all the cupboards and the coffee table in our house. The Roomba did not. I thought the Internet connectivity for the Eufy was a bit of a gimmick - after all why do you need an internet connected hoover? But it turns out it is fairly useful. I like the fact it maps out the rooms it vacuums, the ability to set schedules easily, amend the suction power for each of the scheduled cleans, the ability to start / stop / send it back to charge remotely and gets updated firmware. It is also possible to steer the vacuum from the app - I did this once when it couldn’t find its way back to the dock (lazy, I know, as I could have just picked it up). The Eufy is quiet, really quiet. Not just the suction motor, but the drive motors and the general movement across the floor. The Roomba rumbles across the floor which can be heard on the floor below (as we have wooden floors). The Eufy makes no movement noise. I have had to check the app before to make sure it had actually cleaned as I was upstairs working and did not hear it at all. This is a real strong point for Eufy. The app sends push notifications (if you allow) that tell you if it’s stuck, lost, being picked up. So it’s chatty. It also has a “Find my RoboVac” in the app. I’ve not used this yet but I can see it could be useful. Though I don’t have a big house I have on occasion had to hunt for the Roomba when it’s got stuck. So this could be useful. Eufy, draws a map of the area it’s hoovering in real time so you can always use that to find it if it is stuck. The return to charge point is much more effective on the Eufy as it marks on the map it’s charge point, then draws the room and obstacles as it goes. So when it finishes or needs to recharge it goes directly there rather than hoping it passes the beam from the docking station (as the Roomba has to do). If you put the Eufy on a different floor to its charge point, it will note it’s start point and return there when it is done. Some minor niggles with the Eufy: 1. It doesn’t have a carry handle - the Roomba does. 2. Emptying the bin is fiddly and the instructions aren’t clear which big you have to lift. Once you know, you know but it took a few attempts to work it out This is not meant to be a Roomba v Eufy comparison as my Roomba is at least 8 years old. However new Roomba’s are far more expensive and, in my opinion, the Eufy is much better value. Am a definite convert to Eufy.

Already much better than my older cheaper alternative that didn't have LIDAR (lasers)
EDIT: Wheels are making insane noises just a few months later. Vacuum is barely sucking, sounds like its stuck at the lowest setting and won't pick up anything. Tracking somehow got worse through the updates and now it bumps into a lot more things than before. This is why I hate anything live service with constant updates. How is my product going to become inferior as time goes on? Ridiculous. Not to mention its vacuum and motor barely lasted. It's a joke. LIDAR is a game changer. I had an older 100 quid model that didn't have it and it was a pain to deal with. It will knock my bin over, push my shoes around, get stuck under my office chair, etc. This thing... maps out a room quite accurately in under 2 minutes, then continually improves the map as it cleans and bumps into things. And speaking of bumping into things, it stops a lot quicker so it doesn't drag them around or knock things over. It's definitely a lot smarter than anything without LIDAR. Even if its your first ever robot vacuum, I highly recommend skipping the super budget tier without LIDAR and going straight to something that supports LIDAR and more importantly NO GO zones. The ability to make it stay away from rats nest of a desk (desktop computer, 4 monitors, speakers, audio devices, etc make for a lot of cables that I cba to properly arrange) as well as the ability to make it stay away from under my office chair is god tier. I can actually leave it unattended now, instead of the older one which I had to watch as it works in case it gets stuck every few minutes or knocks something over. Had this for a single clean so far and it's made a massive difference. Suction is good enough for my carpet. Will update review if the app gets worse or brakes or if the robot doesn't last more than at least 2 years, but so far it's great.

Slow, inefficient and not good on wooden floors
It does work to an extent but if I’d realised how poorly I wouldn’t have purchased it. Its tiny fluff collection cartridge needs to be emptied after every room. This is a bit fiddly and involves poking a tool inside to try and scoop it out. It doesn’t work in rooms where you have different floor surfaces. Eg. Large area rug over wooden floor. It zig zags around and keeps snagging on rugs and trapping itself under sofas. It includes sticky backed strips that you are supposed to put down to stop it going in certain areas but seriously who wants those stuck to your floor. I have a dog which is why I need to hoover so often and it does pick up it’s fur but it fills the chamber after 1 room. On hard floors where fluff congregates in corners and edges it can’t seem to collect that. It of course can’t work on stairs or furniture so is no good as your only hoover. Finally it leaves a lot of track marks on carpets like bizarre crop circles. Since it moves randomly around the room these are v noticeable across the carpet unlike a normal hoover.

Amazing robot vac for great price
This vac has proved to do an amazing job keeping on top of my home. I have a dog and 2 small children who all leave crumbs and hairs all over the place several times a day! I have hard wood floors and a couple of rugs, the vac finds changing from one to another without an issue, it doesn't find it difficult to move from one level to the other- the suspension works really well to keep the vac at level to keep its grip on the floor. It finds its way back easy even at times when i have had to move its Dock. Emptying and cleaning the filters are easy - it gives you recommendations for how often to do it, under my circumstances I'm cleaning the filter twice a week. And when replacements are needed, they aren't expensive and you get kits of everything you need. Set up is easy. It's size is really good, it gets under most of my furniture. It has only got stuck under my sofa so i just block its path to that now. It is quite when it operate and you can change the suction level, it does take more battery for the higher the performance but you can turn on the feature where it returns to its docking station to charge and then it heads back to carry on where it left off when it has enough battery. You can see in the app where it has and hasn't been so thats really handy. Well made device and a great price.

Great at first, but complete software failure and a major fire hazard!
I wanted to love this vacuum. For the first month or two, it worked flawlessly. However, it quickly devolved into a massive headache, and I am ultimately forced to throw it in the trash. Here is why: ⚠️ 1. Dangerous Hardware Failure (Major Fire Hazard) If you or anyone in your house has long hair, do not buy this vacuum. It absolutely cannot handle it. It clogs 2 to 3 times per room, requiring constant manual clearing. Worse yet, the roller mechanism gets dangerously hot to the touch during these clogs. The heat became so intense that the internal plastic has actually warped, making it nearly impossible to get the rollers back in. This feels like a legitimate fire risk. 📱 2. Broken Software & Connectivity After a couple of months, a software glitch completely ruined the user experience: Map Loss: It completely stopped saving maps. Every single time I want to vacuum, I have to let it remap the entire house from scratch. Troubleshooting Failed: I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app countless times and tried setting it up on multiple different phones. Nothing fixes it. Wi-Fi Drops: The vacuum constantly forgets my Wi-Fi network, forcing me to reconnect it repeatedly. Final Verdict Between the software completely breaking down and the hardware physically warping/overheating from hair, this product is completely unusable. It’s heading straight to the bin. Save your money and buy something else.

Quiet and effective
We like the low profile so that it cleans under our sofas, can climb easily the 1.6 cm different levels between our rooms. Likes to tell you what it's doing, app has nice features and maps of the area it's cleaned in every session. Connected to our WiFi easily, unlike other brands! Good suction, nice appearance on vibrant blue. Overall good value for money, only thing I would like moreis if it had twin front brushes to guide the floor debris into the main brush and water container. The main gain of one of these devices is the reduction of dust on surfaces in your house, all your shoe dirt is collected daily! 😁

Device offline !
Device offline ! When the vac works it’s great, however there are a couple of major issues which make the product a major pain. The unit has forgotten the maps a number of times which means it has to rescan the floor plans, this is worse as it is used across multiple floors so both need recreating each time. The other major issue is the vac often goes “offline” and none of the tips in the app work to get it back online. Temporary power blips seem to be a cause of this, or if you reboot your WiFi router, both which are unavoidable. Only method I have found to get it back online is to physically remove the battery from the bottom of the unit and reconnect after 1 minute, which is a pain and is going to likely wear the battery connector cables as they are quite thin. Update May 2026: Both old eufy clean and new eufy combined app keep loosing the maps and won’t save a second map. This means every time you want to use the device you have to scan a floor plan and replace the other saved one, this is the icing on the cake for this device. Please buy another brand as this one causes nothing but problems :(

Procrastinated but ultimately impressed
As others have mentioned, I spent quite some time considering a robot vacuum, and came close to buying on several occasions before baulking and not pulling the trigger. I wanted something at the lower end of the pricing scale as I didn't see the point in spending the guts of a grand on a vacuum, but I was hoping to get something that would actually work well. After much deliberation then, I went for this Eufy model, and after a couple of weeks of living with it, I'm pleased to say I seem to have made a good choice. Sir Bumps-A-Lot lives on the ground floor and has an area of approx. 33-34 square metres to cover. It's roughly two-thirds carpet and one third vinyl (lino in the kitchen). The initial setup and connection to the wi-fi was quick and painless via the app. The first time he was sent out to clean the area, however, he seemed to be unable to recognise when he had covered everywhere, and kept going until the battery ran low, at which point he slowly headed for home, taking so long I thought he wasn't going to make it back but he did. That was the only time I watched what he was doing, and although there was a lot of bumping (hence the name) and going in circles, he didn't get stuck anywhere and successfully negotiated door saddles and several rugs. Since then he has been on a schedule where he comes out in the dead of night twice a week and I wake up to nice clean floors. The time taken to complete the job has come down, so clearly he does learn from each trip. The last time he was out, it took 51 minutes to do the job, almost half the time of the first run when the battery ran out. Suction appears to be good, the vacuum picks up an impressive (and somewhat disconcerting!) amount of dirt each trip. As the bin is quite small, it needs to be emptied after each jaunt, but that's a small price to pay. So far, he has proved to be quiet enough not to wake anyone while he goes about his business and has only had one serious wedging incident. Overall then, and after a relatively short period of ownership, I think I made the right choice and got a device that works well for the price paid. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship between Sir Bumps and I, long may it continue!

Would not recommend to buy
I purchased this Eufy robot vacuum expecting a reliable cleaning solution, but I have been very disappointed with its long-term performance. After only a few months of light use, the battery life has significantly degraded, failing to complete even basic cleaning cycles. Furthermore, the build quality is subpar. Despite following all maintenance guidelines, parts have become loose and the plastic components have proven to be quite fragile. Overall, this product lacks the durability and reliability one would expect at this price point. I would not recommend this model to anyone looking for a vacuum that lasts

Unreliable
Has broken within 6 months 😞keeps saying something is stuck but nothing evident. Disappointing to have this short a lifespan.
