Great Cameras
I've had these cameras for almost a year now and couldn't be happier with them. They're a great value and I honestly wasn't expecting much at this price point but they've exceeded my expectations. I have 3 of them set up throughout the house and they've never lost connectivity and have good crisp, detailed video both day and night. The range for the motion detection is very good too and the only false alarms I've had are from when the sun shines in through the blinds and bounces off the wall and the camera picks it up. This is not a bad thing as it's picking up the motion and I think any camera would do this. We've since moved into another house and resetting these were simple and they were up and running in no time. The only thing that would be nice is if you could turn all the cameras on/off (along with the notifications) in one step. Instead you have to go into each camera and set them on/off which isn't a huge deal but it would be nice to be able to be able to do it in one step. If you can I haven't figured out how yet. lol All in all I highly recommend these cameras and will be buying a couple more soon.

Easy and cheap
Simple to setup, easy to use, clear picture quality. I got this to use on birdfeeders and it works amazing for it, especially at night. It keeps a clear and consistent picture even without the nighttime lights being turned on. For the price of this camera I think it may be one of the best budget webcams to have constant monitoring for your home.

get this one to secure outside your home
I left 5 stars for Tapo2K after one year of used; easy to set up and works very well at night, picture quality is 5 stars. Ai sensor is big help. all clips save in micro SD card up to 128GB, no need to pay extra. A+++

The price, quality, no monthly bills, you canโt go wrong! Tiny investment & BIG bang for your buck.
I am NOT new (12 YEARS and TWO other brands) to the home camera arena for sure. I came to notice how many models of the Tapoโs there were. I then dove in and figured what was best for me. One of my criteria was that it didnโt force cloud storage and subscription service on you, an SD card would be all you need. It also had to have Motion and Sound detection, and higher resolution than what I was used to was an extra treat. I decided upon the indoor/outdoor Tapo C120โs knowing they would be for indoor use as all my others in the past were. This gives me an option to move any outdoors if I ever had a need. I use a couple of them, instead of being outdoors, on windowsills or on door glass pointing outside. So that you know, if you plan to use in this way, you can not have night vision on. You would get a glass reflection of the night vision sensors. This way has worked fine for me for every model in my past 12 year line-up, as long as there is a porch light, street light, entry door light, some kind of light you are fine. There were several incredible, unexpected surprises after I installed 4 of these. The image quality is amazing, super sharp and clear. The App is super fast and responsive compared to my old... You can easily and instantly swipe between cameras, or just as swiftly look at recorded events (alarms). You can even put the cameraโs in grouped batches of 4-up on a screen together. The flexibility in mounting options make it super easy to put wherever you would like. I am amazed at the difference and how far the technology has come in such a short time. Oh and did I say the price is a fraction of all the other I purchased in the past ? I can buy four Tapo C120โs for the price of ONE of either of my old brands. Right now I am running all 4 Tapoโs remotely in another home and plan to purchase more for primary home and do away with my older inferior brand. My situation was kind of unique and I had some questions, so I reached out to Technical Support. I have to give a shout out to Cliff as my main Technical Support contact. The team went over and above any expectations I ever could imagine from a support standpoint. I have passed my knowledge onto friends and family about these, as you canโt beat these cameras all in all. The price point, the quality, no nagging monthly bills, you canโt go wrong ! Tiny investment with a huge bang for your buck. I am not writing this review for promotional purposes or any of the suchโฆ. I am writing it because when I come across a stand-out product and customer service together, I want to tell my story for others.

Great, but App will not continuously record w/o SD card
Having used other Wi-Fi cameras including Google Nest cams (and much more expensive pro & semi-pro security hardware), as well as having a career in electronic & broadcast engineering, I think Iโm uniquely qualified to give this a fair unbiased review! First off itโs phenomenal for the money. Better resolution and more features than previous generation Nest cameras for a fraction of the price. While the hardware is seemingly not as durable as some competitors, at this price theyโre more or less disposable! There was one surprise for me that everyone should be aware of (that if I had done a little research, I probably would have figured out before purchasing on a whim during Amazon prime days)! Unlike other services I have used, when you use the TAPO app (which I paid for a years worth upfront for 4 cams) just be aware it only streams live, and then records segments to the cloud when there is motion detected. If you want to record continuously, every cam has to have an SD card installed. The app then uses the memory locally on the SD card to playback segments (but of course is limited by the memory of the card). Then like other systems (and dash cams), it just starts rewriting over older video/audio. The app is very intuitive and functional although I would like to be able to monitor all cameras at once (which may be possible as Iโve only played with it a couple of days). Installation was a breeze and simple. Very intuitive for non-tech people. Overall, Iโm extremely pleased with the performance &bfeatures. Time will tell about durability and Iโm sure their app will probably get some upgrades over time. A very competitive product. I wouldโve given it five stars if for the $119 for a year of 4 camera service, it would record continuously into the cloud. That way, if you have a break-in the cameras are destroyed, the full recording is remotely saved.

This camera is great!
I have previously owned other cameras, where I have it inside and point out my front window. However, this is the absolute best I have had so far! Other models require a subscription - this one doesn't! (You can purchase an SD card that will record everything - and it holds a lot, too!) It takes a little bit to navigate the app, but I have it set up to record everything on a loop, and then identify (over the course of the whole recording) when a person passes by the field. I bought a 250GB card, and so far it has recorded 3 weeks of video. I previously had a camera that would upload to my google drive, and that only recorded up to 1 week. This video is also higher quality, and much cleaner than the old camera. Others cannot identify anything across a window - this one does! Granted this is much newer and technology has gotten TONS better over time. It will "tag" every person in the field, and then provide markers in my recording indicating when a person crossed the field. This is far more data-rich than my other cameras (across a window). As far as "night vision" - I have found that if you set it on night vision, this will not work across a window. It will only reflect a light on the window and back to the camera. However, the low light sensitivity is excellent on this camera, as it will take the low level of light on the street and boost the video signal so that it can actually see ok at night on its own. Pretty good! It isn't as clean as my ring camera's IR night vision, but it is still good. And definitely worth the sacrifice of not having to pay for a subscription. The one thing I would appreciate for the camera are some accessories to help extend the stand (make it taller) and make it more stable, as I currently have it balanced right at my window. But it has been doing the job, pretty well, as is. Highly recommend!

Perfect, economical little camera. Great for working with strays
I got this camera for the purpose of identifying how many stray cats were actually coming by to eat the food Iโve been putting out. I intend on finding them a soft place to land, before winter comes around. This has been fantastic for this purpose. It lets me know anytime it identifies a โpet.โ It does tend to identify virtually any animal as a โpet,โ but I still appreciate this feature. I enjoy seeing all sorts of critters come by, anyway. Iโve also been able to identify an injured, elderly stray cat (shown in the video). Iโve been feeding this stray for about a year and I wrongly assumed he had stopped coming around. Iโm glad to see that regular feeding has improved his weight, but I am heartbroken to see he is injured and in pain. I will help him, though, now that I know. With the help of this camera, Iโve been able to identify 4-5 stray cats so that I can plan for their rescues/rehoming accordingly. I get a notification saying the app has identified a pet and it shows me about a 15-second playback of the โpetโ in question, each time. I can go back and view all of these playbacks, at any point, and take snapshots, record, download, etc. It does a great job of identifying people, also, even down the street. As long as itโs within view, the camera will let you know. You can adjust the sensitivity (lower and less frequent notifications vs higher and more frequent), set times when you do/donโt want notifications, place lines/barriers down (anytime something/someone crosses the line, itโll notify you). Itโll alert you of vehicles, noises (cat meowing, dog barking, glass breaking, baby crying). The light on the camera is also pretty strong. It does a decent job illuminating my patio area in the middle of the night. I donโt keep it on, regularly, but Iโll put it on for a few moments just to check the are before I go outside to feed, at night. Honestly, I think itโs better than the Ring camera and itโs a fraction of the price. I will buy more of these, as I donโt think a better deal exists. Thereโs just not a better camera at this price point. Even many above this price point are underwhelming. Setup is beyond easy with multiple mounting options. You can put it pretty much anywhere. Itโs all very intuitive. I wish I had gotten this weeks ago, as it would have given me more time to work out a solution for these cats. I think this camera would be good for anyone involved in rescue, or the [ethical] breeding of animals. It could be great tool to utilize when on foal watch, for example. This company has a ton of other products, as well, including loads of other camera options. Highly recommend.

Update: Excellent in nearly every aspect. Power cable disconnects with slight movement.
Update: Cameras have a ton of features, and fantastic night or day viewing. It's tedious to set up all the accounts online to see the camera feeds on a PC, but it does work, using iSpy Connect. So I absolutely LOVE that. The wi-fi is powerful and I've had no problems connecting to the indoor or outdoor cameras so far. The power cords must be pressed in as far as they will go, they only make contact in the last 1/8 inch. You need to anchor the cable near the camera after installing, and if you move the camera at all, be sure to push the power cord back in firmly, because it will disconnect. One of my camera's night vision stopped working, I'm returning that one. The mounting hardware and process is very quick and easy. I'd like to see 90 degree camera view rotation as well as the 180. So that a camera can be mounted on a side wall. And right-angle USB power cords would be helpful for space constraints. One caveat. The outdoor Tapo 425 camera will not show in a PC feed, it doesn't work with the RTSP or ONVIF protocol. That's disappointing, but it has all the other great features. Be sure to buy some micro SD cards while you're buying the cameras, for local recording and phone playback. Previous review: Just got the camera. Compact, clever, looks well made. However, the power cable must be pressed in completely to power the device. The tiniest gap from full inserted will stop providing power to the camera, and the smallest movement will disconnect the power. Major flaw. The camera video displays on my phone with no problem after installing the Tapo app and creating an account. Then they harass you to set up an online paid account. To see the camera video on a PC, you have to jump through hoops. First you must set up an RTSP account and password for EACH camera. This is done in the Tapo app. It's a different ID than your Tapo ID. Then you install an app called iSpy, on your computer. Then you jump through more hoops, configuring that, and then it fails and gives errors, and you're nowhere. So I don't know if I'll be able to monitor the cameras on a PC. They're not much use to me if I can't look at a monitor to see what's going on. Like every other security cam I've tried, these don't work very well. I sill use my Logitech PC-linked cameras from 2007, which don't require online accounts, and record video to the PC. And I can glance at the monitor 24/7 to see what the 4 cameras are seeing, live. Two stars for the Tapo cam.

Best Security Camera
I owned 10 Reolink POE cameras and I never plan to buy a wifi security Camera. This TP-link C120 was on sale for $49 so I thought I will give it a try. Compare to the reolink Cameras this one has the best wide field of view. The picture quality is amazing, specially on wifi. The 2 Spot lights are really good at night. I programed the kasa outdoor smart plug to turn on when motion detect in this camera and it is working well. I wish Tp link made this Camera POE. I have a dedicated outdoor wifi access point for this camera and smart plug. I have a SD card installed for remote viewing. I tested it remotely and it works well.
