Red Hot Chili Peppers: Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik (Guitar Recorded Versions, Essential Groups & Artists)

Their best album imho.

Im a massive peppers fan and have all their tab books and BSSM is my favourite album of theirs. The majority of this book is spot on and transcribes John's mighty funk guitar well. There are a few teething issues though. The book is fairly short and thereby overlooks many of the fills in most songs, instead opting for the "see additional lyrics approach" instead of tabbing out the other parts. "Breaking The Girl" is hardly tabbed at all with only the intro and the outro in tab. The rest of the song is shown through chord names and diagrams only, this isn't really a big deal but it might effect less skilled guitarists who rely solely on tablature. Though everything sounds right when played along with the original recordings some tab doesn't replicate John's playing style, for example the intro to "Under the Bridge" is tabbed with the use of a capo despite John never having used one on the recording or in any live performance of the song, this again isn't a big deal but if you are a massive John fan like me then you will want the tablature to match John's style and sound rather than just the notes played. All in all this is a must have for any collection but it could have been better with a little more attention to detail.

As far as chilis albums go, this is by far the most fun to play. It has a massive range of material, from the angelic under the bridge, to the acoustic breaking the girl, to the hugely funky guitar solo of If you have to ask. A must for any guitar playing chilis fan, far better than the internet tabs

Easily one of their best albums. So, getting to learn the songs for your bass/guitar is just great. A real good book. Fun to be had all round. Enjoy.

Very useful to learn some of the finer points of this great record. One star deducted for trying to teach Under The Bridge with a capo, learn it properly, it will benefit all of your guitar playing. Overall, it's a well set out book, with faithful readings of John's guitar parts and Flea's bass lines.

Good tab book . One or two of the songs are laid out as you expect but other than that it's good value.

When it gets it right this is a great book. Unfortunately some transcriptions are either lacking or just plain wrong. For example, portions of Under the Bridge are wildly incorrect and tablature for Breaking the Girl is almost completely absent. I understand that before the internet it was not as easy to research these things, and this music was probably transcribed by ear rather than having access to original master tracks, but some of it is just plain lazy.

Astreine Festhaltung Frusciantes Gitarrengenialität auf BSSM. Akkorde, Tabs und Noten sind bis ins kleinste Detail niedergeschrieben. Zudem ist der Gesang gedruckt. Absolute Kaufempfehlung für fortgeschrittene Gitarristen!

This is one of my favorite albums guitaristically speaking and it is perfect to sit down and try to recreate one of Frusciante’s best moments

The tab contains all of the songs and seems to be pretty accurate. It helps to learn the songs and with some practice this is possible.
