Calling All Reel to Reel Tapeheads- THIS IS A GAMECHANGER!
Came here after reading that this stuff works well to cut down on SBS (Soft Binder Syndrome) with old reel to reel tapes, and it works great! My suggestion to any potential users for that purpose is to get this, grab some cotton pads, soak the pad in some of this liquid, and firmly but not too tightly pinch the tape as you fast forward it, reapplying liquid to the pad halfway through. The added step I would recommend is doing a SECOND pass before playing the tape. I got about 20 minutes into the tape the first time and it had already seemingly wore off part of the tape. Attached photo was after my first pass with the cleaner, and as you can see, it definitely did a lot to clean off the flaking tape! Use the other side of the cotton pad than I did; I think that was partially why it didn't clean off as completely as it did the second time. Highly recommend!
