Are these more of a marker or pen? My grandaughter has asked for Feela markers

They are gel pens. If she wants markers do not get anything that says "gel pens" as they are like regular writing pens just for coloring/lots of colors. Look for items that say "Feela markers".

Do they run out of ink fast?

Not really. I use them for coloring and so far I have only had to replace on ink, but I had done 2 coloring pages with a lot of leave before running out.

Are there duplicates in this box?

There are no duplicates but you do get a pack of refills for each pen for 1 refill.
