Smoke machine works; bottle for smoke is proper size and easy to use (was too small on other train sets).* *Go slowly with refill bottle when adding to the engine, it comes out quickly. Passenger cars light up, which makes for fantastic low-light effects around Christmas tree, or just in your local hobby/craft town. My only question: why is there no remote for this set? Power button is on the train engine itself. This functions fine, may just be a matter of preference for folks. I recommend the toy maker offer a model WITH remote, charge consumer extra, make it an option/add-on. Overall, very pleased. My 6yr old (mentally 9) absolutely loves it.

Train was very good, track was OK, but it would be a little better if the track was metal. Lights and smoke really work, pretty neat overall. I ran it on carpet and it would fall off the track. On the hardwood floors it did fine.

I’m having problems with staying on the track. It just will not stay on the track and when it’s time to switch tracks, I’m having a problem with that fall off the track so no I’m not really happy with it. It looks nice. It feels real and my back cars, they don’t light up

Our 5.5yo desperately wanted a model train for Christmas but we were nervous to really invest in a set given how rough he still can be with his toys. This is a pretty sturdy set. He knows to be more gentle with it, however, it can withstand being knocked over without us holding our breath. We are overall are very pleased with this train!

A little too delicate for young kids but otherwise its amazing. One thing to look at with these sets is knowing exactlv whats in each set. Some have remotes, some dont. Some have more tracks then others. Read the details of whats included. I prefer the more expensive one with remote for about 10 bucks more.

No good! Bought for birthday present. Setup was easy put train on track all seemed good at first. After a few minutes train came off the track. Couldn't get it to work for more then 5 or so laps after that and wheels on coal carriage would keep coming off the track. It happened on the "Y" shaped tracks weather using the oval or figure 8 pattern. Anyhow we messed with it for about 8 hours trying to get it to work with no luck. Ended up with an upset little boy so went to store and purchased another similar train from different company. After setting the new train up all worked fine and was able to have the birthday boy go to bed happy.

Bought for Grandson for Christmas and he will love it. Looks very well made and I can hardly wait to see how he reacts to it. We are going to make a box to put it in so he can keep it in once it is put together. He loves this kind of toy and I am positive he will be overjoyed !!

Train was a hugggge hit at Christmas but not easy to put the track together and the train falls off repeatedly on the one corner because the tracks don’t seem to connect great sometimes. The steam engine on this train is amazing! Very Realistic! We will love this every Christmas!
