Love this game! As an adult, I love games that challenge my mind and are fun. This does both! I’m into learning new medical terms, and had a blast playing this game as it is FULL of just medical terms! Super neat.

This game is much more fun to play than any other board game! Nurses should buy it and try it! Great fun!!!

Too advanced for those with no medical background - too simple for those with medical background. Not a very fun game.

I have a post-grad in biology with a focus on research. My specialty is microbes, but I love science. It's part of my blood, and I can't have a conversation without being nerdy and bringing up something science-related. It is SO beyond excellent to have a game that is more of a critical thinking game. I always enjoyed Trivial Pursuit and Scattergories because they were thinking games. This is even better because it's a SCIENCE-themed thinking game. I hope Medicos makes more games like this; I love it so much! If you have a science lover or kiddo thinking about a career in life sciences, you HAVE to buy this game! It will challenge them but is soooo much fun! When I say science, I mean someone like me who has gone far in the life sciences or is passionate about it. I teach AP biology and will use this as a gamification incentive. A lot of the science might be over my students' heads with their being in high school; even though it is AP, the game is geared more towards med students, doctors, RNs, or scientists with extensive knowledge of the scientific workings of the world - specifically the human body and life sciences. And I mean from an organ level to a molecular level to enzymes. You name it; it's in the game. So, for example, in the card I was able to fly through (but not in 60 seconds to name ALL of them), I said for Epstein Barr: Kissing Disease. Anyone would be able to get that one. Some were a bit harder, like HIV/AIDS, especially for younger players, I would think. However, I have been surprised by some students' passion for medicine and science, so anything is possible. I played the two cards on the back, and I think I got one of them correct on the first shot, but it wasn't within the time frame. The second card I just bombed. But I love it because it's a refresher for me as an educator and my students, who I hope beat me every time! Science is so underrated, and I can't state it enough - we need more science-lovers. I am an anomaly as a female scientist, although not so much in the biological sciences. I hope this game inspires young ladies and gentlemen to become doctors or scientists. It says it is for ages 13+, which is true in *some* instances. Some of these cards might be advanced for the average 8th grader. But they can answer some of these - especially in teams with stronger players. This game touches on some physics and chemistry because, as we all know, this is the Holy Trinity of the world of science, or the "hard" sciences at least. And I mean that in contrast to the "soft" sciences, which are equally valuable. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. In no specific order :) Unless you're a physicist, chemist, or biologist, then you have your order. We have to admit, they all work in unison! 10/10 recommend. I cannot wait for my dad to come and visit for the holidays because we nerd out on the phone about this stuff, and now we have an actual game to play. He is a chemist, so that I will beat him, but he also has his RN and Marine Combat Medic training. We'll see. It's anyone's game! But I got him beat in the biology world. This will be a true bonding experience for us because we ask random questions, and now we have random questions that we both have to figure out. Yay!

This is a clever idea for a game. At it's core it's really just flash cards with a board game built around it. But it's educational and (potentially) fun. The main part of the game (the white cards) is really like Password - you have 60 seconds to describe the word (ie, adventitia, plasma, leucocytes, etc) and you advance on the board based on whether your partner guesses correctly. So to play as intended, there needs to be a minimum of 4 players (2 per team). And, you need to be playing with peers who have some medical knowledge. The instructions aren't that great. And the design of the game is a little clunky. For example, you only use the dice to determine who goes first, then never use the dice again. But it is a flexible game that is easily adaptable if you have some creativity. You could easily use this by yourself as flash cards, or adapt to a classroom You could even add a drinking element to it, to really spice things up. Or for the less rowdy crowds, you could play with a large group, and even include prizes (kindof like Bingo).

Let me start by saying, I could not begin to play this game and help my teammates that are in the medical field. But boy-howdy did I learn a bunch! This is an easy to set up board game, using a set of cards that are sort of a cross between flash cards, password and trivial pursuit (thought provoking.) The rules are not too specific, and we found that the discussions surrounding some of the cards lasted a good amount of time. You have 60 seconds to come up with a word .... and our crew segwayed into some interesting conversations about personal experiences, techniques, etc. A great way to make learning fun. The overall impression from the gang was very favorable! They are anxious to play again as it is sort of serving as a refresher course and memory challenger. Thus far, there have not been any issues on accuracy within the game itself. I had a great time being an observer...They had a great time participating!

So, if you are a medical professional, you'll do great! Me, well, I suck at this game! It comes with a board, dice, a timer, really cool player pieces and the cards. When playing, you have to describe the different medical terminology to your team and they have to guess what it is you are describing. You get a minute to do as many as you can. For med students and the nurses in our family, well, they did great! I got a few just because I am old and am learning about my decrepit body. Otherwise, I got my butt kicked in this game. Me, being such a trivia buff, this was NOT my best subject! But we had fun because the nurses in the family sure did embellish on things and the stories they told after getting a gross term. It was really fun even though I lost! lol And I did learn some too!
