I like V8 and tomato juice, but I've never really tried much as far as Clamato goes. I can't really put my finger on why, but I think it's because I've just so strongly associated it with alcoholic drinks and seafood recipes including shellfish. With the former, I tend to prefer fruity drinks and the latter I'm allergic, so I've always steered towards V8. I have to say, this isn't bad. I've had it before so I knew it would taste good but I really should remember that this brand is an option when I get in the mood for tomato based drinks. This specific flavor is your basic tomato beverage. It's called a cocktail, but it doesn't contain alcohol unless you add it yourself. This means that it's fine to drink as an everyday beverage, although I would recommend drinking it sparingly due to the salt levels. This has about a third of your daily salt intake per serving. I'm not certain if they have a lower sodium offering or not, but I don't see it on their website. I wonder if this is because the company so heavily encourages it to be added to other things as part of a recipe. In the end this is fine - the price here on Amazon is a little high but not terribly so. I figure that most will be looking specifically for this product and depending on how frequently they drink this stuff, cans could be a good way to stretch out the product life. You can take your time more with individual cans than you would with a whole bottle of it. I think I'll keep in mind that Clamato exists, but I do wish that there was a lower sodium option for this.

This is not a healthy drink by any means, nor is it chock full of vegetables like V8, but the stuff tastes good and makes for a nice drink by itself or as a mixer -it has 11 grams of sugar and contains actual clam juice. The ingredients include Water, Tomato Concentrate, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Monosodium Glutamate, Salt, Citric Acid, Spices, Onion And Garlic Powder, Ascorbic Acid (to Maintain Color), Dried Clam Broth, Vinegar, Natural Flavors, Red 40, and Red Chili Pepper. It's a savory-flavored drink, despite the amount of sugar in it, and tastes savory, slightly tart, and delicious. It's not quite as thick as other tomato drinks I've tried, but this is not a bad thing - I like the more liquid consistency and find it mixes with alcohol easily. Overall, if you enjoy tomato drinks, this is worth trying.

I grew up on Clamato, it tastes so good it makes your jaws hurt! I haven’t had it in a few years but it still tastes great and it’s my favorite mixer for a Bloody Mary, it makes the best, far better than plain tomato juice. I always bought the large bottle but it often ended up getting lost in the fridge and I ended up wasting some. These little cans are a nice way to have it on hand when you want it and you are not committed to using up an entire bottle. It’s not the healthiest drink having high fructose corn syrup, sodium and msg, but then again neither is a Bloody Mary, moderation is key. I still enjoy a drink now and then and these are really handy to have on hand when company drops in and the cans are tiny and don’t take up a lot of precious fridge real estate. I really enjoyed having this again, it’s been too long and it still tastes great. Recommend
