As in the 1st volume, the book is well written with clear explanations. The book is arranged by topics and there is a companion series “music theory in practice” which is arranged by grades. Together they are excellent. I enjoy using them.

I used to use this book over 2 decades ago when I originally started learning the piano and I find today this is still the go to book for music theory. It has helped refresh my memory on some theory points, however, some chapters are overly complex and without the help of my piano teacher I don't think I would have deciphered some of the chapters on my own.

this was a gift for my son, who reckons it is really easy to understand the theory for his grade 5 theory exam. He enjoyed reading the book and learning all the skills he needed to pass his exam. Thank you

This is a really good book! If you are preparing for any Music Theory exam (Grade 6+) I would recommend this as a necessity! It is always a good reference even at A-Level! Great value for money here rather than at your local music shop!

If you know Mr. Pink Book, then you would definitely need this book. I haven't read throughout the parts about essay writing yet but the theory bits are very clear and useful. A must-have for the advanced study in music theory.

Arrived in perfect condition. Excellent and detailed guide on advanced music theory but the book hardly breaks things down to simpler terms to help with easier understanding. We may have to do our own further research or get a teacher to explain to us before we can understand what the book is trying to explain.

Lorsqu'on se dirige vers des études de théorie de la musique dans un contexte anglophone - que ce soit en tant qu'à amateur ou en tant que professionnel - ce livre est essentiel. Très bien expliqué. Il en est de meme pour le "AB Guide to Music Theory, Part I".

I bought this book, despite I already had a lot of music theory and harmony books from Conservatorio, because I like to have in a really compact book all the information I need to do the ABRSM 8. Here in Italy Part II of this method is not translated, so I bought in english, and the Conservatorio lessons syllabus that I used to follow years ago was slight different, so I'm really happy for my purchase.
