Very cool toy. First time using this thing and it does as is advertised. Easy to install, light, not sure how durable it is and holds on the table tight. I took a big ball of yarn start caking it and the machine did a great job. It did stall a few times but it was a safety feature as to not cause harm or break the string as it's rolling it. Just a little tug and the machine stops. You do have to watch it to prevent tangles and continus the flow but so far so good. The machine and new cake is on the left of the picture, what it was is on the right.

This yarn winder is amazing and worth every penny. It wound 10 ounces of medium weight yarn in under 5 minutes. The only tangle issues I run into is from the yarn itself. I love that there are notches at the base of the spindle to keep the yarn from slipping below and getting caught in the mechanics. I wish they would have kept the notches at the top of the spindle too because I prefer a center pull when crocheting. Feels sturdier than others I’ve tried, and putting it together was a breeze.

Great product! I had been looking at electric winders for several times, and everytime I searched, this one topped every list. It winds the most yarn of any winder and makes winding easier, simpler, and more effectively. It is easy to use.

As a knitter, I have spent more hours than I care to admit hand winding collapsing skeins across couches, chairs, and occasionally my own feet, so the idea of an electric yarn winder sounded downright luxurious. And honestly? For the price point, this thing actually works surprisingly well. The motorized winding absolutely saves wrist fatigue compared to traditional hand crank winders, and once I got the yarn tension adjusted properly (I didn’t do anything but feed the yarn through, how easy is that?!??), it created a tidy yarn cake without much effort. It is especially helpful for partially used skeins that are beginning to collapse into yarn spaghetti. Now for the reason I removed one star… and yes, this story is partially my own fault. In a pre coffee crafting moment of overconfidence, I decided to rewind yarn from an active knitting project already attached to needles. Instead of noticing where I was threading the yarn, I accidentally fed it through a guide opening that does not have a quick release option. Which meant I essentially trapped my knitting project inside the machine path like a tiny wool hostage negotiation. Thankfully the yarn manufacturer had joined two yarn lengths with a knot deeper in the skein, so I should eventually be able to free everything without sacrificing my project to the fiber arts gods. (Been there, done that!) That said, the experience revealed what I still think is a legitimate design weakness. Good craft tools should account not only for perfect use, but also for realistic crafter behavior: working while distracted multitasking using partially attached projects operating before caffeine has entered the bloodstream A removable yarn guide clip or quick release mechanism would make this dramatically more user friendly for people rewinding live projects or partially used skeins. Am I kvetching a little? Probably. Especially considering this unit costs around $34 while some higher end electric winders climb well over the $100-$1000+ mark. For the money, this still feels like a genuinely useful & very affordable tool for knitters & crocheters. I just think one small tweak to the yarn guide design would make it even better. My own revision once I get this situation cleared up, will be to add the tiniest binder clip over that hole and make it a quick release like I wanted. - Overall, I am still glad I own it… though perhaps future rewinding adventures should wait until after coffee.

This yarn winder was a game-changer for my crocheting. It winds the yarn so nice and neat that I've been able to store and organize my yarn so much easier. I love that I can wind any of my yarn on this and get a center pull for working on projects. I haven't tried super thick yarn on it though. It does a good job at getting out small tangles before winding them into the ball, and if a really back tangle gets through the machine will automatically stop. 10/10. Love it.

Update: I have received wonderful support from Etcokei and am using a replacement winder that is functioning perfectly. I've changed my rating because I am now using a problemfree winder that's already successfully wound several skeins with no snags or weirdly wound cakes. Clearly, the first machine I had was faulty from the start. Original post: I purchased the white winder because it was rated so highly. Unfortunately, this has been a disappointment and no longer winds although I have used it only a few times. There is no plug included, so I've been using my phone cable successfully. The tension isn't adjustable and the two springs basically did not contain the yarn because they are weak, like the plastic. The knob to turn on/off and control the speed is weak. I'm going to return this.

Recommended, it is sturdy and easy to use. It wasn't heavy and it didn't need a huge space to set, about the tangling is still possible but it makes my job easier than doing it manually, who does that.

This yarn winder works great for average-sized skeins and is a huge time saver. It’s stable and easy to use, and I had no issues at all—at first. Unfortunately, it doesn’t hold up well with frequent or high-volume use. After about three months of heavy usage, the motor started to wear out and struggled to wind a full skein. Despite its short lifespan, I keep coming back to it because it still outperforms any hand winder I’ve tried. Just know that it’s best suited for occasional use. I also tried the larger capacity version hoping it would handle bigger skeins better, but it was a disappointment—extremely loud, constantly got stuck, and didn’t work at all for my needs. I ended up returning it. If you’re a casual user, this winder is a great tool. Just be aware of its limitations if you’re winding yarn frequently or in large quantities.

手動→安い電動→この商品を今回購入しました。 糸をかけるところが安い電動のものと違いしっかりした作りなのできれいな玉ができます。 以前のものはプラスチックで本体に差し込みのみで糸の振動で外れるし、そうなると回転している部分の根元に絡みついてガガガギギギとすごい音で動かなくなってました。抑えのバネ部分も1つだけだったのでゆるゆるの玉になってました。 この商品は糸の方の絡みでまわらなくなった時も静かに止まります。 回転音も安い電動の1/3ぐらいの音でとても静かです。 動きも滑らかで静かだしきれいな糸玉ができるのでまだ編む予定のない毛糸も巻き直ししたくなってしまいました。

Muy buena máquina, me ha ahorrado muchísimo tiempo. Enrolla los ovillos de lana rápido y sin esfuerzo, además no hace mucho ruido. Funciona sin cable y eso es súper cómodo. La batería dura bastante. Lo recomiendo para quienes hacen crochet o punto con frecuencia.

This works really well! I originally bought a cheaper version from a different brand and used the refund to buy this one and I am SOOOOO glad that I did (I know, I know - you get what you pay for but hey I wanted a deal...all I got was a flop!). Between the 5 different places for the yarn to be fed through, which allows the yarn to actually be held properly so that the winder motor can manage to keep pushing through, the overall sturdiness of the machine and it's ability to be pretty quiet considering the job its doing and the knob gives a lot of control for the speed which really helps to slow things down while quickly fixing an upcoming knot in the skein but still maintaining the winding. Honestly, don't bother with the cheap versions, with the first ball of yarn done, I was immediately hooked, I re-wound the crappy job from the cheap version and my hand wound ones, so stoked!
