Why is there a gram of fat (sunflower oil)? Magnesium oxide also comes in pill or capsule form, what is the purpose of the oil?

I have a friend that has difficulty taking larger pills. She finds that gel-type pills are much easier to swallow. The medication/mineral has to be dissolved in some kind of oil to make a softgel. Thus the sunflower oil.

Where are these manufactured?

All Quality Control testing and finished product manufacturing for all of Carlson’s products does occur in the US, with the exception of our liquid fish oil products, which are bottled in Norway.

Is this product vegan?

No, our Magnesium Gels are not vegan. We use beef gelatin for the soft gel shell.

How much of this magnesium is actually absorbed?

I have taken many many forms of magnesium and many other brands and found that this is the absolute best for me. As it is liquid and because it is the magnesium oxide form of magnesium, practically all of it is absorbed. I have never had any negative reactions to this, as I found, for example, with a magnesium citrate form of magnesium. Due to your weight and body mass, it should be determined how much you should take per day. I have found that 1 tablet with a light meal works well for me and 2 tablets with a heavier meal; i am 5' 5" and weigh approx 120 lbs. If you are sport active, then the absorbtion works faster.
