★★★★★IOAIO MINI PROTEIN SKIMMER ★★Magtool DC Protein Skimmer ★★★Aquatic Life 151 Mini Protein Skimmer This product, the IOAIO Mini Protein Skimmer, works very very well. It is very quiet and also very effective in comparison to other skimmers within this price range. This skimmer startes to produce wet brown skimmate almost immediately. My favorite part of this skimmer is the adjustability of it; fine tuning this skimmer to the correct position is extremely easy. Best thing of all, it literally fits PERFECTLY in the 1st compartment of the Fluval Evo 13.5g AIO tank. After using all three of these skimmers, my hands down choice in the #1 position is this skimmer, and yes I will absolutely be buying another one for my other nano reef tank. For comparison purposes, here are my thoughts on the other two skimmers on the list. First up is the Magtool DC Protein Skimmer. The Magtool, in comparison with the IOAIO, is also very quiet (maybe even more), and it looks like a high end product. However, I could never seem to get the thing adjusted properly after weeks of trying. For a mini protein skimmer, the Magtool is actually quite large and does not fit perfectly in the Fluval 13.5g. In my opinion, this skimmer is best fit for an in-sump situation. The Aquatic Life 151 Protein Skimmer, however, does fit in the 1st slot of the Fluvial 13.5g tank quite well (but still not perfectly like the IOAIO does). This one does in fact work quite well at producing dark dry skimmate, but it is a little on the noisy side. **If you are in the market for a protein skimmer that fits your nano fish tank, hands down my recommendation is this skimmer, the IOAIO Mini Protein Skimmer. You will be extremely pleased with it's performance.**
