HONG DIAN D1 Piston Fountain Pen Fine Nib, Hollow Skeleton & Resin with Metal Case Set (Silver)

This is the first fountain pen I've purchased for myself. I absolutely love it! It's so smooth, and it's beautiful! Holds a decent amount of ink, too. I journal daily, and have been using this pen as my journal pen. I typically write 3-5 pages front and back of an A5 journal, and I find myself refilling it every week and a half or so. It's a bit on the heavy side, but I personally prefer that. I've been using it daily for about 2 months now and it still functions, looks, and feels exactly as it did when I opened the package. I tend to post the cap, and I haven't noticed any wear on the finish around the piston screw. I'd say it's a good pen!

It's a nice heavier pen with a beautiful design around it. It's a piston filler, so similar to TWSBI in that you just place it in the ink and fill it up. I'd say it's more of a wet writer, so it's been really nice using it. For the price, it's a great pen. It's durable and feels great in the hand. I don't post it, due to it becoming top heavy.

What a beautiful pen. It is far shinier than in photos and videos. This pen arrived in a non-descript gray box inside of which was a thin metal tin. Inside the tin, lined in foam was the pen, inside a plastic protective sleeve and a small baggie with a tool to disassemble the piston mechanism. Nice. As the pen was in transit a Hongdian customer service rep, emailed institutions on how to fill and clean then pen as well as a thank you note. I’ve spent lots of money with companies and onto received a receipt, never a personalized thank you. Terrific. I inked it up with Hongdian Peacock Blue ink. It writes smooth and on the wetter side. The breather hole on the nib has a bit of a tear drop shape, different than most nibs I have had experience with. I set out writing several things in 3 different notebooks. The pen is an absolute joy to look at and it is very nice to write with. A pen is an item we often throw in a drawer or a bag and think nothing else about. The finial has Hongdian Fortune Di Lan Tian stamped with the Hongdian logo stamped in the center. It’s an awesome pen I am happy to have in my collection. And, I didn’t have to sacrifice my 401k. Great price. Great looks. Great performance. Great company. 4 Greats.

It’s a very beautiful pen that comes with a little wrench for removing the nib and feed, is not a frequently used item but when you need it’s there! The silver filigree over the blue background is so rich looking with its own stylistic texture almost a renaissance Field! It writes so smoothly. And it really is a piston filler from the outside definitely unusual from most “piston” fountain pens. It is a little bigger but that’s to be expected. Very very happy with it! Thank you so much!

Eehh it’s okay I mean it does look nice but in terms of writing quality and performance you’re better off buying a $10 fountain pen

This pen is very easy to fill and writes incredibly smooth. I personally enjoy the fact that it's heavier than a typical ballpoint type pen. I have had no issues at all with ink flow or nib splitting. Highly recommend.

I have a number of fountain pens ranging from expensive to $10 throwaway versions. This is quickly becoming a favorite even though I bought it just for the harder to clean inks (shimmer inks). It has a good balance, decent amount of weight in the hand, and a fantastic ink capacity. The nib is steel (f), with a smooth delivery. It sounds more on the paper than my 18-23K gold nibs, but it never catches or skips. In short, I like it better than some of my much more expensive pens (ie; Pineider $900 pen)! If you like a ~9.8-10mm grip (shaped) and 40g vs 24g mass for pen with and without cap respectively, I think you can’t go wrong with this inexpensive, yet beautiful option.

Very pretty pen but it isn't as smooth as other fountain pens I own

Love this fountain pen! Looks very ornate, good weight for me (heavy) and posts well! The ink reservoir is a good amount for me (about ½ of a TWSBI eco) and the nib is a great medium that lays down ink smoothly! Easy to clean but I’ve not yet tried a shimmer ink with it. Definately recommend if you like the above in a fountain pen :)

Ich hatte mit dem Gedanken gespielt, mir einen Kolbenfüllfederhalter von teuren Marken zu kaufen, da ich mit meinen bisherigen Füllern nie zufrieden war. Das Handling meiner bisherigen Füller mit einem Kolbenkonverter ist unpraktisch und mühselig, da der drehmechanismus schwerfällig ist. Ich bin bei meiner Recherche über Kolbenfüller über ein Forum gestolpert, in welchen man sich über Marken und Modelle ausgetauscht hat. So bin ich auf Hongdian aufmerksam geworden und dort wurde auch über dieses Modell berichtet. Ich hatte bedenken, da dieses Modell aus China kam, mir die Marke gänzlich unbekannt war und ich nicht wusste, wie das Schreibgefühl ist. Die Bestellung lief reibungslos, die Lieferung erfolgte prompt. Das Schreibgerät wurde in einem Aluminium Etui geliefert und so auch optimal geschützt. Die Verarbeitung fühlt sich nicht hochwertig an, der Kolbenmechanismus funktioniert einfach, ist jedoch aus einfachen Kunststoff und die Tintenkammer ist leicht zu befüllen. Der Füller ist durch das Design leicht und dennoch ausgewogen. Man spürt, dass bei dem Muster „scharfe“ Kanten, welche ungewohnt sind, jedoch nicht unangenehm sind. Er liegt dabei gut in der Hand. Das Schreibgefühl, trotz feiner Feder genial und perfekt. Kein Kratzen auf dem Papier, der Tintenfluss ist gleichmäßig und sauber. Mit der Feder kann sowohl groß, als klein geschrieben werden. Schnell oder sauber. Ich hatte mir dieses Modell zum Testen gekauft und wollte ihn zurückschicken, da ich ein anderes Modell von Hongdian liebe. Dieses Modell gefällt mir so gut, dass ich diesen für zu Hause nutze, da das Schreibgefühl einfach genial ist und das Design ein Hingucker. Der Preis ist lächerlich günstig. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

La calidad por el costo esta muy bien. El único detalle es que la punta F escribe como una M.
