I have the Cateye 450, the Ravemen TR250, and earlier Cateye LED rear lights. They are all very good lights. The Seemee 400 is even better. The best rear light I have ever owned. I mounted it under the saddle with a bracket which just clips to the stays under the seat. A very effective and simple solution. I particularly like the red LED that points to the ground that illuminates a diffused red light to the road or path and illuminate the back of the rider’s legs - the combination of leg movement and the red illumination is supposed to be very effective at making sure drivers notice you. This LED diode is turned off for daytime flash modes as in daylight it is not very visible - which saves the battery. Without doing anything afaik the remote of my new Hori 1300 front light automatically linked to the Seemee 400 so that both lights turn on and off from the remote, which is rather cool. The Seemee 400 is very bright but it can be dimmed by circling through modes. The daylight flash is also excellent. Thoroughly recommended, and bear in mind an excellent rear light may well save you from serious injury so worth the extra money, imo. If you’re worried about a loved one being injured while commuting on a bicycle, this will give you extra reassurance.

The Light: The SEEMEE 300 is a powerhouse for road safety. The 300-lumen output is incredibly bright, and the 360° downlight is a game-changer for side-on visibility at junctions. It feels solid and the "Smart Brake" sensor is actually responsive rather than just a gimmick. The Support Experience: I ran into an issue where my original unit (purchased June 2025) would show a full charge but refuse to power on. Contacting Magicshine support through Amazon was a bit of a back-and-forth—there was some initial confusion about charging cables and a slight delay due to the Chinese New Year holiday. However, once I provided video evidence of the fault, "Hannah" from their team was very helpful. They quickly arranged a replacement from their UK stock which arrived in just a couple of days. Verdict: Hardware issues can happen with any brand, but Magicshine actually stood by their 1-year warranty and fixed the problem. I've been cycling for almost 30 years and this is the worst light I have come across in terms of settings. The settings are utterly confusing and impossible to work out whether it's in a day or night mode and whether it's high or low flushing. Totally useless. Somebody once said "keep it simple, stupid". Clearly the designers of this light have never heard of it. The worst thing about this light though is it's battery life. All the reviews are praising it with an exceptional battery life ... well that was not the case with my light. The light did not even last 3 one hour rides without needing to be recharged. On the third ride it simply stopped working after 15mins, which was extremely dangerous as it was pitch black. All in all it failed on me twice. Before the ride it showed me green light, indicating more than 20%, but clearly that functionality doesn't work either as it totally stopped working after 15mins. The only half decent thing about this light is that it's well made and feels solid, but I I don't need a good looking light, I need a light that works in the dark!! And the above wasn't just my experience. My friend and I bought it together after being convinced by the reviews, and he had exactly the same experience. When I wrote to customer service, they re-directed my query to another department and the trail went cold. No response since then. I am not sure which light were all the other positive reviewers using, but that was not our experience.

I have used this for around a month for work commutes. 'Menu' is interesting, I couldn't seem to get the 'motion-activated brake sensor' to stop, not a massive issue for the commutes, it has never gone flat or let me down. I’m not sure how to set it up for the 200hr setting, so can’t trust it for the 200hrs claimed, though what I do achieve is amazing! Now all MagicShine lights are USB-C you only need one cable if you're USB-C committed. For bike packing events I use this as light 1, and SeeMee 200 as my backup/spare. Having used MagicShine lights, front and rear, for the last 2 years I can highly recommend them, customer support is really good. Update - after an issue with a mount Customer Service have sent me replacement parts, I cannot fault them for the quick and simple solution. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😊

Update: the seller has been really helpful by offering a choice between a refund or replacement light. After checking alternatives light I decided that this was still the best light to get for the money and requested a replacement. Very happy with the service so I've changed my rating from 2 to 5 stars. Original review: Good product, worked as advertised for 11 months. But I took it out for one ride when the roads were considerably wet and it broke. I've tried drying it out but it still won't work. Would've been 5 stars if it was more waterproof but I wouldn't recommend with this issue.

Fabulous rear light, well made, sturdy with powerful visibiity, several function of operation sochoices depending on day/night rides. 5 * for rear lamp. 2 * for mounting bracket, how can you justify supplying a high priced lamp with such a inferior plastic crap mounting system, value and quality of mount is pitiful. Then you have the balls to charge £12.95 extra for a decent metal seat mount system. Get your act together instead of ripping off your customers. Disgusted by this money making catch 22 ploy you employ that people must take to safely and securely mount a great rear light. Shame on you. Mount ordered as no other choice but to loose my purchase on the first pothole encountered.

An amazing light. Great brightness and battery life, really extraordinary. I cycle at least 200 Km a week, much of which on A/N roads (in Ireland), great to be so visible. I had a charging issue with my first unit, and it was replaced promptly via great customer service.

I’m very happy with this bike light because it is exceptionally bright, which is exactly what I need for riding at night. It does a great job of signaling my presence to cars on the road, helping me feel much safer and more visible to drivers. Even without a motion sensor, the consistent high-output beam and various flash modes provide excellent long-range visibility. It’s a sturdy and dependable light that keeps me secure during my commutes. A great investment for any cyclist who prioritizes being seen and staying safe!

This light has some very opinionated design decisions in the software, and to the product folks out there....if you're gonna be opinionated in your design, you're gonna get opinionated reviews. Buckle up, 'cause it's gonna get a little rough. The tl;dr: Excellent hardware that forces high power consumption on you, whether you want it or not, so that instead of up to 11hrs of battery life, you get 2-3 when riding in darkness. (And yes, this is a problem - I don't want to have to charge the battery every single day.) On the plus side: USB-C charging, excellent battery capacity; good battery life* in the mode I use most frequently; many modes; mode memory; quarter-twist mount. Now for that asterisk on the "good battery life": What I want out of a bike taillight is something that flashes stupid-bright so that the doofus in the car coming up behind me looking at their phone has something catch the corner of their eye and get their attention. And this does have an excellent daytime-bright flash mode. All good so far. The problem, though, is that once it starts to get even the slightest bit dark outside, it switches to this mode where it pulse-glows out the back and shines a bright red light directly to the pavement. At no time in my life have I worried about being hit by a car coming at me from below the surface of the pavement. I get that "provide visibility from the side" thing, but guess what - you extend the lens around the side of the housing a centimetre or so and that 300lm flash (that you turned off in favour of some slowly pulsing glow) gets people's attention. "But it's too bright at night", you say? Impossible. Nothing is "too bright" for a bike to get noticed, particularly when it's red. Goal #1 through #20 is "get noticed". So, not only does the light go from a bright flashing "HERE I AM!!!" flash to a dull slowly pulsing light is that there's now TWO LED'S soaking up battery power, so the runtime of the light goes from 11hrs to maybe 3hrs at best. Yay (insert sarcasm emoji here). And if/when the battery does run low, instead of doing what it can to extend that runtime by....you know,....GOING TO THE FLASH MODE THAT LASTS FOR 11 HOURS, it instead glows even brighter so that you notice that your light is running low. Which....ok, great -- the light let you know. But what can you do about it for the remaining hour of riding until you get home...? Nothing. Just accept the fact that your light is gonna go out sooner than necessary. And then it has a brake light function: In theory, you hit the brakes on your bike, and the light shines brighter. There's no wire/sensor like there is on a car, of course, so it has to rely on some electronic sensor. So, I realize this isn't easy. But come on: If you're riding at like 35kph on flat road, peddling at 90rpm or whatever, if your speed varies between 35.8 and 35.5....the brake light should not come on. And yet it does - again just absolutely KILLING the battery life. The best part of all of these "features" is that MagicShine makes absolutely none of it configurable. If you WANT to just keep the low-power super-bright flasher going once it gets dark (and by "dark", I mean roughly half an hour before sunset on a clear day - why?!), instead of the light switching to the highest power consumption mode, well, go buy another light. Because this one won't let you. So I did. In short, this is a great light with TERRIBLE software.

I bought the SeeMee 300 a few years back and liked it enough that when it was time to replace it, I went with the SeeMee 400. Glad I did. This newer one is even better than the old one. It’s brighter, seems to last longer, and has a lot of useful flash and brightness settings. For around the price, I honestly don’t think you can beat it. It gets attention in daylight and is plenty bright at night too. Easy to mount and easy to use without messing with it every ride. This is my second light from them so, If you need a tail light with a lot of features, this one is worth considering.
