Very good AMD board, Great Budget board.
**** This is a VERY solid board for light gaming. No SLI or Crossfire as the second Express slot is not an x16, but x4. Still, bought this for use with a FX6300 chip and a older ATI HD 4870, installed 8G memory on it and it's been very solid and runs pretty coon with only slight overclocking. But it is used to play a lot of World of Warcraft (legion), Minecraft, Stellaris, and a few other Steam games with no problem. Windows 10 Pro runs excellent, games are good FPS, and it does all I need it for. **** I have only ONE real complaint, but I knew coming in that this has NO USB 3.0 header built on the MB. It DOES have two 3.0 jacks, but would have liked to use the USB 3.0 front side plugs on the case. Might buy a separate card for that connector. It's really a minor issue for me though. **** I would NOT recommend this for a "Hard Care" gamer, but it's a solid inexpensive motherboard for the casual gamer or for almost any other use. This is my THIRD ASUS motherboard in the house and they all are very reliable. (I love AMD for the great price/power factor.) I have built several others for friends and family and no one has had any MB issues with the ASUS boards used. **** If you are a budget builder, this is a great option!

Great motherboard!
Pros: Tons of USB ports Awesome UEFI Bios Easy setup Cheap Cons: None so far (will update if something pops up) I decided to build a new PC and was torn between this and a Gigabyte mobo. I decided on this one because of the Asus name and I couldn't be happier. Everything worked great. The Bios were the easiest I have ever used. It has a full GUI interface with mouse support. The board has plenty of usb ports on the back and plenty of headers on the board for more. It also supports faster charging of iPads and my Nexus 7. I put a six core FX processor on it but it supports up to an eight core AMD FX. If you are on a budget and need a good motherboard with plenty of expandability I highly recommend this board.

decent mobo, some possible USB 3.0 driver issues
works fine with windows 7, but a bit glitchy until updates are completed. crashed to blue screen on windows vista once. There appears to be a driver issue with USB 3.0 ports on windows 7, I have not attempted to use 3.0 ports with another OS. The BIOS recognizes devices plugged into 3.0 ports but windows will not acknowledge them with device manager showing a driver problem. I am awaiting response from ASUS and will update. also no internal USB 3.0 headers. Otherwise no issues.

Awesome.
This was used in my first build and I love it everything is beautiful and easy, I got this for $75 and you just can't beat the price for what you get... plenty of usb's, crossfire!, easy bios, another great product from ASUS. I would recommend this product to anybody thinking of building a pc. -3 years later- Still playing on my phenom x6 with this mobo, its been great and easy to work with, no complaints from me but am3 is dead now but if you can pick it up cheap enough go ahead, I have grown accustomed to the audio suite its very useful for me and over all a very awesome board. Good job Asus.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING THIS MOTHERBOARD
im giving it a 1 star simply because at this time 2015 they still have mobos of this kind with the old bios where lets say you buy a fx 6300 like i did and you placed every component in your board correctly like i did where everything is running perfectly i.e. fans, case fans , cpu cooler, graphics card fans. now i write this review because if you buy this motherboard you need to beware that Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs. one of these mobos i ordered from here had the old bios where i could not get my cpu to work on that board, i was confused for 4 days, breadboarding the mobo, cleaning the cpu thinking i bent one of the pins or thermalpaste got on the board when i simply didnt have an answer i called asus customer support, which i was greeted with a nice lady and i told her my situation and she said to look for a 4 digit number at the end of the ram holders and i told her the number and she said that i had an old mobo with the old bios in it, so i am returning this mobo and going for a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard that actually works with my fx 6300 out of the box, now if you want to try this mobo its basically playing with your luck because you might end up with a mobos with the older bios or the newer bios and they really need to alert people about this and only you can make this bios work if you had an older 2 core or earlier amd chips where you can access its bios, update it and put in the newer cpus from amd. just be carefull and if you want a good mobos that actually works right out of the box with the fx series cpus , give gigabyte a shot.

Great board for the price
Very happy. Bought this to replace a 2 year old Gigabyte that crapped out on me. I'm a moderate gamer and a web developer so I'm on my PC a lot. Motherboard was delivered in 2 days (Prime). Was very easy to setup (clearly marked pins and ports in the manual). Lots of room for expansion. I do not overclock so the heating issues that some of the other reviewers that do overclock mentioned are a moot point for me. Using it with an AMD FX-6300 6 core processor, 8GB G-Skill Rip jaws RAM, and a Geforce GTX 760Ti. Picked up a little tube of Arctic Silver 5 for the heat sink and it is running like a champ. Running Windows 10 Pro and Ubuntu on this hardware. Both are flawless. I'll only report back in on this review if I begin to have problems.

If you plan to overclock, DON'T BUY! Otherwise, great board.
I bought this mobo planning to overclock an FX-6300 for gaming. Big mistake. Unfortunately, I didn't realize I had purchased this LE version, which does not have any heatsinks for the VRM section of the board. Basically what this means is your ability to OC is severely limited, due to heat and voltage issues, to the point where any stable overclock was actually detrimental to overall performance in my case. I was able to get a stable OC of 4.0, after 20 hours of Prime95, and while my benchmark scores went up a bit, my FPS in games was nearly the same. Overall I give this mobo 5 stars, since it was my own mistake buying this version for a purpose it's not meant to serve, not any faults in the board itself.

Great value AMD mobo - shame about the software
Let's face it, there is no point in buying a motherboard with an on-board graphics chip. You will want to buy a PCIe VGA so just get the best featured mobo you can for the available cash. I looked at the market and concluded that this one had the lot. It handles AMD FX processors up to 8 cores/140W and the latest 32nm AM3+ technology (I went for the budget FX4100). It also supports SATA III 6Gb/s and USB3.0 and it has an 8-channel Audio chip on-board. Pretty impressive for a £65 mobo. Memory is not an issue either with 4 DIMM slots totalling 32Gbytes and it runs Windows 8 without a hitch. The card is equipped with connections for a CPU fan and up to three chassis fans - all 4-pin PWM - so you can have a whisper-quiet system if you use Noctua PWM fans. The one detraction is the awful Asus utility - AI Suite II - this is actually a collection of utilities that you can use to tune system performance. It has major problems with stability and one of the utilities (Network iControl) will cripple your on-board Ethernet performance unless you remove it. Fortunately, you can select which utilities to activate - I have just Fan Control and System Information running. I have given it 5 stars despite the AI Suite II problems because the card itself is fast and cool and quiet and the utility is just a waste of two days time - but now you know that, you will not have that problem...

Easy swap, a novice can do it.
I'm posting this after its all done and tested. Havent overclocked yet, will get to that later. Im a complete novice to this, but the manual by my side and all the connections on the board are labeled, making it really simple. First boot was fine, went straight to setting up bios, I was too trigger happy here and started making minor changes thinking I would be ok. I was wrong, it didnt boot the second time. I went through the manual, they recommend not changing anything from default, I reset the jumper on this board as instructed. 3rd boot everything back to normal, I select the hardrive windows was on and away I go. Everything works out of the box, just do what I do and follow instructions. Replacing the stock motherboard from an HP pc, this wouldnt fit into the HP case even tho its listed as atx. Just keep that in mind as well if your upgrading a prebuilt pc.
