It's just...special
Absolutely delightful. I’m biased because I adore the Kayuragi line. I’m highly sensitive with fragrance and tend to get headaches and feel nauseated by many household scents, colognes, candles, etc. So I’m an odd candidate for incense. That’s why I find these incenses so magical—none of the negatives, just a subtle, mood-boosting wafting. More suggestion than command. And of all the Kayuragi scents I’ve tried, the Mikan Orange is a stand out. Orange is so often misrepresented as a scent: too candied, too cheap ‘air freshener’, too one-note citrusy. But this captures a complexity in orange that I’ve never previously found. Just when I think it’s awfully autumnal, all peel and cider, I’m hit with something lighter and scrumptiously bittersweet. It’s not the floral blossom part of orange you find in many ladies’ perfumes nor will your home be mistaken for a Tropicana factory, as this indeed leans to the peel, but once this incense is burned there’s no mistaking it’s orange. As with all scents in this range, you receive 40 sticks in a little wooden tray that’s ideal for repurposing. Oh, and a little tile for vertical burning. Low smoke, minimal ash, no superfluous bamboo, burns for 15-20 mins depending on conditions. Perhaps Nippon KODO describes it best: “the delicious fragrance of mikan orange bathed in radiant sunshine”.

Beautiful Fragrance
This KAYURAGI - Mikan Orange incense smells divine~! The only down-side is that each stick is very short and only burns for about 15-20 minutes each. We used it during the New Year to purify the air in our home and generate a pleasant aroma.

Pretty smell
Smells pretty, but it's not bursting with orange. I can smell a hint of orange when I sniff the stick, but no orange when burning.

Too fake & perfumed for me.
I had high hopes for this incense after using mainichi-koh sandalwood by the same maker but the Kayuragi mikan orange scent just isn’t for me. The incense is well made, seems to be of very high quality. The burn rate is perfectly slow and steady with a light but creamy smoke and nice ash. They do not have a bamboo core, so you must take care not to break them. I am not fond of the soapy-perfume odor of this particular choice. Though I don’t doubt that it’s made of natural materials, to me it smells overly artificial, infused, and strongly scented. The odor of the unburnt sticks is more floral than citrus, and the burning scent just amplifies this, with the perfume coming through loud and clear while the woods are minimal. The perfume lingers for quite a while after burning. Usually incense doesn’t cause me scent related issues but this fragrance is too annoyingly “aromatherapy” for my tastes. This is a first rate company and an expertly made product, and if you like mikan orange incense then Kayuragi by Nippon Kodo is the one to try. However I botched my choice and after one stick I won’t be using any more. I will switch back to mainichi-koh sandalwood from here on out.

Juicy
It smells like peeling an orange! Absolutely phenomenal. Strong scent, average smoke, quite lingering, and worth the money for the incredible quality of the fragrance.

Bastante elevado de precio
Muy bueno pero bastante caro. Son inciensos pequeños y duran poquito. Pero el aroma es único
