Typical Pathfinder Really...
Now, in my opinion, Pathfinder is an RPG system that is somewhat bloated and convoluted - more so than it really needs to be and whilst I can respect some people like that I do not. Unfortunately this trend seems to have spread to this comic series as well because even though it has a good and interesting story at its core, this book twists that into a bit of a mess with the publisher also deciding to slot in previews of other comics between chapters (why? Just why?) until it gets back on track to then main point of the plot once again and simplified itself down into what would make the story good.Slow to get going, this book had the potential to roll high on a quality check but instead critically failed to leave any impression that wasn't mediocre at best. A +0 charisma modifier if I've ever seen one.

Surprise like.
[SOFT-CORE SPOILER ALERT, except the script's that bad that you'll see where it's going from the first couple of panels. Honest]Bought this on a bit of a whim, and found I enjoyed it it quite a bit. I was a teen roleplayer (hehe) so it was full of stuff that was familiar and felt quite cosy. The script was pants though; it suffers from bad story set-up throughout as everyone argues really nastily in a way that would split any party of adventurers up. What's worse is you know as you read it that these are arguements that will be resolve by a big team-hug at the end.Guess what, they all work it all out. In a big fight. Where they work as a team. Aw.

Great story provides some nice background to the iconic characters
The story is great and it adds some depth to the characters (I play a lot of Pathfinder Adventure Card Game). Some of the artwork is a little questionable in places but it's been a while since I read any graphic novels so perhaps I was spoiled by Sandman! Highly recommended to any fans of the Pathfinder universe nonetheless.

Disappointing
I'd hoped for something rather better from Paizo, most of whose output is excellent. I didn't care for the artwork but YMMV on that. The story is a bit simplistic and doesn't leave much room for character development or plot depth. But I've seen worse comics, it's a very solid book and not expensive. The best bit is probably the collection of covers at the back, some of which are excellent pastiches of famous film posters, book covers or comics. The Pathfinder bits are fine, if unexceptional.

Good fun
I’ve never read or played Pathfinder before but I do enjoy a good fantasy comic. This is pretty good and what gives it the 4th star is simply the adventure hooks, maps and monsters it provides to help your game.
