Can this be used to slip a latch on an outward opening upvc door?

The packaging states it's for UPVC door latches. I bought mine for a small window , with latch in the corner, it was physically impossible to use. From my experience if your latch is in the vertical part of the door and not in the corner it might work. I ended up improvising by grinding down an Allen/Hex key to open my window.
