Goddard Silver polishing cloths
Works sooo well and the cloths are generously sized. Like good-quality silver cleaning and polishing cloths, these Goddard's cloths leave an imperceptible anti-tarnish trace behind, and that works very well. If you wear silver jewelry, you know how helpful that is. Their silver polish cream and 'non-stinky' silver dip are also pleasingly effective. For reference, i tend to use the cream to bring out the beauty of my new, and especially older pieces and the cloths as a quick touchup. Important for all silver, cream, dips and cloths is to understand that they work as a system. (Can you tell i rnjoy silver)?

Great for touchup polishing
These cloths are great for touching up lightly tarnished silver but if it is heavily tarnished you'll spend a long time and elbow grease getting them clean.Instead use the French method to clean your silver. Referring to the pictures I posted, start with boiling a kettle of water and line a pan with aluminum foil. Sprinkle a layer of baking soda on the bottom of the foil and arrange the tarnished sliver in a single layer trying to keep separation between the pieces. Sprinkle a good amount of baking soda over top of the silver (pic 1). When the water is boiling pour it over the silverware making sure the pieces are submerged (pic 2). The baking soda will react with the hot water, foam and fizz, and cause an electrolytic action that will move the tarnish onto the aluminum foil which takes about 15-20 minutes. Once the water has stopped fizzing remove the pieces and rinse with warm water. Give a light polish with a damp microfiber cloth (pic 3). Take the Goddard's cloth and finish the polish to a shine (pics 4&5). These pieces were tarnished almost black but I was able to get them to a high shine with this method and using the polishing cloth at the end will help retard tarnish in the future. These cloths are better then the old Ritz cloths I used to get at Publix and will last a long time even when they look dirty. They also polish my antique chrome appliances and copper cookware to a nice shine.

Exactly what I needed!
Big cloth so you get a lot to work with for necklaces. They are really easy to,work with and I love that they leave an anti-tarnish to keep you silver from oxidizing so quickly. I have silver polishing gloves, but they are very awkward to work with.

Just ok
I keep using these to clean jewelry and the towel gets black and dirty but the jewelry doesn't seem to get a more shiny and clean. The jewelry gets a bit more clean but overall it's not so great. The towel is getting pretty nasty with black marks and so you have to look for clean spots. I think this was not such a great buy and I am going back to the cream cleaner. It's a bit more work but at the end the jewelry is shiny and looks new again. This is a quick fix if you are running late and need a quick buff and a bit of cleaning. However, it's never going to replace a proper cleaning.

My favorite cleaning cloth
I'm a jeweler, so I like to have a polishing cloth handy for quick touch ups when I refresh my displays at galleries and the like. This is by far my FAVORITE! There's no gunk to clean off like on a sunshine cloth, this cloth doesn't polish so much as clean the tarnish off..it makes things a tiny bit shinier (like when I use it on a matte finish) but it's more about removing tarnish and protecting from tarnish..it's not going to remove any scratches... There is a chemical (they say it's non-toxic) in it that also helps keep tarnish at bay afterwards too. It smells like crayons...but doesn't leave a smell on your piece. I've used it on ear wires and haven't had a problem with reactions or anything too. It's great on Argentium silver, but also does wonders on sterling and gold. A friend used it on some gold plated things that were very tarnished from being in a display for a while, and they came clean very quickly compared to the cloths she was using (probably sunshine?). It's very easy to use since you don't need to clean things again after using it, and it works quickly without too much pressure. If you need to actually polish something, it would be better to use something with more abrasives in it than this. I like this because of its lack of abrasives. I still don't use it on pearls or opals (avoid these when rubbing the metal surrounding them). Don't wash it, even if it's totally black (it'll take a while to get there!).I wish they had little packages of these I could send to customers when they buy things, like a 2x3" piece or something.

Perfect!
Great price. Came quickly. Product works well; nice not to bother with a polishing compound. (If working with a large and very tarnished item may need an additional method.)
