CAUTION: LONG (but thorough) REVIEW! So, I waited a long time before reviewing this. Other reviews mentioned that in only 2 weeks their hair was thicker, nails stronger, etc. That was not my experience at all. Two weeks went by, then 4, 6, and then months, but I kept using this in hopes that my slow hair loss (to the point that I was alarmed) would also take some time to be reversed. For me, change comes slowly, so I decided to be patient even though my hope was waning with every passing day. What I DID notice throughout that time was the dramatic change in the amount of hair I lost. Let me back up a second. I've always had VERY thick hair. I was accustomed to hairdressers’ comments about it - how they had to mix additional color because they didn't have enough when coloring my hair, the common use of thinning shears so my hair would hold a shape and not puff out, etc. When my husband passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago, I noticed a dramatic change. That massive loss in my life and the stress it caused was likely the initiating event that set me on a path of hair loss. Another possible contributing factor was that at that time I went back to being a vegetarian - so full disclosure on circumstances that preceded and continued throughout this time. I went to my hairdresser about 5 months ago, and as she was washing my hair, she commented that I'd lost a lot of hair. I hadn't spoken to her about it at all, so for her to say that was alarming. She said she could see my scalp, and she'd never noticed that in the past. Her recommendation was to "eat an egg every day". I hate eggs unless fully disguised with tons of ketchup, but her point was to increase protein - especially since I'd gone vegetarian again and admittedly am a fan of starch more than protein. Anyway, I was talking with a colleague at work, and the conversation turned to hair. She told me about Mary Ruth's and urged me to use it. She mentioned the diminishment of hair loss, both with her daughter and herself, so I immediately bought it. The first version I bought was the peach non-concentrated version. It tasted good and I took it in the mornings. I saw a slight change - my hair loss was decreasing, but I didn’t see a change in hair regrowth. Then I ran across this version - the concentrated form - and tried it. Mind you, I also upped my protein consumption dramatically. As others mentioned about this product, it's sickly sweet. It's very thick - it stays on a tablespoon, so I take it quickly and then I chase it with water - like taking pills. That's palatable for me, but if you get this, be aware that *that* part of others' reviews was true for me as well! With this version, I began to see a difference. Hair was filling back in. My most recent trip to the hairdresser was back to normal and she commented that she hadn't used thinning shears the previous time but now she had to! I grilled her about whether she was just saying what I wanted to hear and she laughed. She said, "I always tell the truth to my clients! No- your hair is thicker. I couldn’t use thinning shears last time because your hair was already thin, but I’m using them today!" Bottom line: I don't know if it's the protein, this product, or a combination of the two that's helping, so take from this review what you want. Incidentally, I've read critics’ online comments that say this stuff is nothing more than vitamins for vitamin-deficient people so "of course it'll improve your hair and nails!" I wasn't vitamin deficient. I have taken multi-vitamins daily for most of my life. I'm an athlete (who needs to get back in shape), but I've taken care of myself for the most part. Anyway - a picture's worth a thousand words. The progression of those I uploaded start with my hair before taking this product, the diminishment of hair loss at the outset (pictures of hair from the drain over the span of about 6 weeks that go from tons to very little), and then the comparison shots of the 5-month difference in my part-line. I tried to take that shot from the same angle as before. Hopefully it worked. Your results may not match mine, but that’s been my experience. The expense is worth it for me, so I'm having the concentrated form delivered monthly. I hope this review helps you!

AMAZING product ! I have seen the effectiveness in my hair strength and growth but I love the overall vitamins for my body. I have 2 babies 13 months apart, my hair was falling off by the handful everyday, I had super thick hair so I didn't care until my ponny tail was 1/10 of what it used to be, after 4 years of having my last baby, it didn't seem to stop I was getting holes in my head and still every day I shower or brush a handful of hair will come out, well I've taking this for 2 weeks and since the first week my hair stop falling off, everyday I shower I loss like 3 hairs and that's it, I used to clean the drain every other day, not anymore I notice some baby hairs but I'm just thrilled that I'm not loosing my hair anymore 100% worth it, I've even tried minoxidil but still was growing and falling off at the same rate, is pricey but I'll keep drinking it everyday, the taste is ok, is just the oil consistency and after taste, but nothing crazy bad. So I'll keep buying it and recommending it

I purchased this on recommendation from my primary care doctor. I had been taking Nutrafol, but the gelatin capsules kept getting stuck in my throat. She suggested this liquid vitamin as an alternative. It works great! I’ve been taking it for about six months and my hair has grown significantly. Even my lashes are longer. Plus, the peach flavor is good. It’s like eating a peach smoothie. I was hoping it would help with hair regrowth, but I have not noticed any improvement in the thickness of my hair.

I have been using MaryRuth’s Hair Growth Vitamins for over 6 months and have seen absolutely no changes in my hair growth or thickness. What was even more concerning was that when I received my second order, the liquid had changed from a bright orange color to a much darker, dull orange color. This made me question the consistency and quality of the product. I am very disappointed, especially considering the high price. For me, this product was definitely not worth the money.

Reason for 2 stars is because the product is beyond sweet!! It is soooo sweet that is almost making me feel sick in my head, almost like getting a headache. I do love sweet, I can eat donuts and all kinds of candy but this, I don't understand why did they have to make is so artificially sweet. It seems like they used all possible sweeteners at once. Not sure if I will be able to finish this bottle. Correction of the review: Seller reached out to me and they sent me a different product that is much better with the sweetness. They were very caring to correct the issue, I appreciate the effort and the fact that they wanted to take care of me since the first product was not satisfactory. I changed from 2 stars to 3.

This is an amazing liquid vitamin that every woman should be taking! It taste great. It has nearly 0 sugar. I see instant energy skin weight problems, disappear with consistent use of this. And not to mention how my hair loss stopped on its tracks.
