Awesome book to learn from.
This has been a god send!! I bought a really complicated pattern book and this little book is helping me learn to interpret the really complex patterns in a way that is easy to understand, even for a beginner. I'm really pleased with my purchase, and who can argue with just over a £1! Brilliant! 👍

Can’t beat it!
This is just such a useful book. It has all the techniques and abbreviations and general helpful knowledge, while also introducing you to new stitches and patterns. The book contains lots of projects you can do with your new skills, including heart socks, a baby cardigan, a lace scarf, and a striped bag. The difficulty of these projects ranges from beginner to advanced, but all of the instructions are very clear and it has hints all the way through to help you. I originally borrowed this book from a library to give me a little help with a current project, but after having it out for the allowed two weeks, I decided to get one for myself as it was so useful and so interesting- and I wanted to try some of the projects!!

Nice reference, not great for actually getting started
This is a great beginners to intermediate reference guide to various wools, decoding patterns and various different stitches and the fabrics you can make with them. Personally however I didn't find the actual instructions very clear, they weren't detailed enough and I didn't find the photos and illustrations very helpful as they show everything flattened out rather than how you would actually hold the needles and work. Nevertheless a good little reference book, if not the best guide to actually getting started.

More Than A Little Course
This is a superb review of knitting for the beginner, or like me ,a born again knitter. I'm sure knitting is becoming fashionable again. Baking and cooking cannot be done in the armchair. Creation of knitwear can be done whilst listening, watching or deafing-out on media forms to relax. 'A Little Course in Knitting' is a simple guide with illustrations of the basic techniques that start from the wools and needles, patterns, stitches with a realistic view of goals. This contains the ingredients of a potential life-time of enjoyment and skill. Relatives beware of the outcome! I cannot recommend this book more highly. After 50 years and with the aid of other incentives, this is the book to encourage and stimulate a creative activity.

A superb beginner's course
I never learnt to knit as a kid, my Mum gave up after several fruitless attempts. So now after all these years + the cost of everything going up so much, I thought it's about time I gave it a go. And this book looks simply brilliant. There are close-ups of every step you need to master, and everything is shown in clear and bright pictures. It takes you in graded steps through different levels of experience, and after each stage you can get to try out the new techniques on real-life projects. Some are a bit silly, like the woolly monkey toy, but hey I'll hand that into the local food bank for kids to play with. Others are really useful, like the raglan jumper and the leg warmers. This book provides a complete course + now can't wait to get started. Mum would be so proud...

Very informative book
This book is really helpful as a new knitter. It also gives detail of how to make some projects as well. Even a friend who had been knitting for years liked the book and ordered one for her self as it was going to be useful to her too.

Good book !!
It is a good book which contains step by step notes and photos, to enhance better understanding. Even beginners can start knitting with this book..details about how to begin with the cast on techniques and various stitches are dealt with much clarity in this book. Also many knitting patterns are provided and for beginners the abbreviation chart is provided for better understanding of the pattern charts. I am attaching a photo of the content page to provide a better understanding of the books contents..

The illustrated instructions are easy to follow
This is an all round nifty little book for beginning and somewhat experienced knitters. The illustrated instructions are easy to follow. The section with the stitch patterns is very helpful in getting new ideas for knitting projects. I have other knitting books, but I usually reach for this one.
