Brilliant Very sturdy Took 2 people to fit in position

As a roofer I have climbed a few different types . This one is more robust than most I have came across and good value . I wouldn’t recommend fitting by a DIYer unless you’re really handy . A bit of a faff to fit and a real risk of the spring loaded hatch closing on you while you are standing inside the frame fitting it . I After removing the ladder from the brackets I cut a couple of bits of old facing and jammed them into the ladder retaining brackets and the frame edge ( take the draft seal out first ) to stop it closing accidentally. The latch lets it down a bit and fitting a small metal loop on the hatch door to hook it down with the rods handle would make operating easier. All together though a good buy

As a professional joiner , with 17 experience, I found this item reasonably priced , delivery in an ecceptable timeframe and the quality of the product was ok . The points I feel that would improve the item would be to clear coat or seal the ladder as it is very easy to leave dirty footprints on the treads when installing , and to make the hatch flush or slightly more set into the frame to make installation easier . If the hatch protrudes the frame it makes the installation a bit more complicated because the frame is higher up than the hatch and creates a problem when attaching architraves. Also the ladder was slightly off centre and when I tried to square it to the frame it started to rub .That is the only 3 problems I had with this ladder . I payed £160 for the product and that was a special offer , but overall not bad value for money but would pay the original asking price of over £300 .

Bought the larger size as I wanted to get a Christmas tree and suitcases in and out of my loft easily. Really good quality ladder, not hardwood but larch I believe. Fairly easy to fit but a really good mechanism and easy to use.

WOW: This is a quality product that will impress! Solid, sturdy, safe and stylish. We fitted one for a customer who was thrilled. The unit is VERY heavy to lift into place - so we, as recommended, dismantled the ladder from the door to enable us to lift it up into place. It took two of us from 10 till 5:30 to install it and finish the caulking etc ready for over-painting - the actual hatch door is a grey-white finish. We were not in a hurry as we wanted to get it right first time! (Cock-ups are a pain to correct in ceilings!) Measure thrice cut once!! One working below and one in the loft (Hot work!!) We used a couple of 'Lidl' (acrow-type) props to hold the unit up in place whilst we screwed it into position. Cutting the stairs to length was a bit nerve wracking (two steps were cut off) and the sliding mounting was used to get the ladder to open perfectly. the plastic feet screwed on to give neat finish. We were extra careful when measuring up beforehand because it is a BIG hatch 1100x700 ti fit in the available space (we braced the frames together before we cut through the middle one.and needed us to cut through one joist - so we had to get it right! We would definitely recommend this unit to others. Note: Be prepared to quote for installing flooring as well as these super stairs encourage loft usage! Cheers BPS - nice product Dave & Raul

Superb product. Fitted in a day and the result is a neat, functional and safe loft access. Instructions say two people but, I was able to complete the job by myself but there is a bit of lifting and shifting so be prepared. To make the job easier I stripped out the ladder from the hatch. I decided to make a sub frame with an internal measurement the same as the external on the loft hatch frame. This made the job easier as I could fix a relitavely light frame to the loft and then offer up the loft ladder frame, clamp and secure with sturdy screws that passed through both frames. May appear a bit of messing about but it does make the job easier. Just a couple of points though. I would have likes hex key fittings for the ladder to hatch as these are tight against the metal frame and easy to strip the heads. Secondly, as the top rungs rest on the loft hatch my size 12's don't have much room. to overcome this I will place spacers under the ladder fittings to give a little standoff. Also, when fitting the plastic shoes to allow for an internal moulding, drill out the four, two on each shoe, screw fittings and these will fit better. Otherwise once the bottom run is cut to length, fitting the shoes will raise the height stopping the ladder sections from closing snugly. But, excellent product and I will be buying another for my garage loft.

We ordered this Deluxe Wooden Loft Ladder with Twin Handrails - Frame 1300 x 700mm - Floor to ceiling heights up to 3.2m - Loft Ladders for a new loft access my husband has done. It arrived boxed and was pretty heavy so to get it into our loft we had to unbolt the ladder to get it up. My husband extended the hole access and fitted it in one day. After fitting he then attached the ladder back on. It is pretty long so my husband removed one section of it as it was not needed. We can now access the loft easily without having to bring in a separate ladder every time we need to get up there which saves a lot of time and hassle. The ladder is good quality and feels study once fitted. It comes with a metal pole to open/close the hatch which is easy to use and works well. My husband will be fitting a small bolt inside the loft so the hatch cannot be closed when someone is up there! The only negative is when you reach the section of the ladder nearer the top you do need to step sideways as there is not as much foot room but other than that we are really pleased with it and would recommend.
