Sturdy and Comfortable
I was looking for a heavy duty office chair that was more sturdy and with a deeper seat than the ones I have had in the past. My old chair from an office supply chain was just so-so and with time as it aged began to cut off circulation in the back of my thighs. You do get what you pay for. I looked at several brands and styles of "big and tall" and decided on this one. This chair was considerably more than I had ever spent on a chair, yet right out of the box I could tell that the pieces were of a superior quality and worth the price. I am 66, 5'2 female, and don't have a lot of strength, yet I was able to put this together by myself relatively quickly. Everything was drilled the way it was supposed to be, came with all the screws and allen wrench necessary for assembly and directions that were pretty easy to follow. I had this together in about 20 minutes once I had everything unpacked. The box it comes in is big and very heavy, but individual pieces are manageable. The wheel base is wide and strong, the support is amazing and the seat is deep enough that I have full support everywhere I need it without any loss of circulation to my legs. At the lowest setting it is just right for my height, at the highest it is high enough for a tall person. Even the arm rests are adjustable height and width wise. Definitely worth every penny and this 5-star rating.

Comfortable and long lasting
I'm a big guy, I spend a lot of time in my office chair. These are lasting me a good 3 years or more before I buy a new one. Even then, the only thing that has ever failed is the gas lift. This alone is extremely impressive as I have had no other chair that was able to withstand sustained use on a daily basis. The simplicity of this chair in its design makes it very easy to build but also very reliable and long lasting. The chair back bolts to the chair bottom via an L bracket rather than relying on the chair arms to attach the back and seat together, as is very common in most office chairs. The advantage of this design is two fold. Number 1, as the chair back and arms are independent of each other, you are not permanently slightly reclined. The attachment angle of the arms on your average chair are a literal pain in my backside as it's impossible to sit up straight and still be supported by the chair back! Number two, the structural integrity of the chair doesn't rely on the chair arms. The most common point of failure on other chairs for me are the arms. Either the cheap plastic breaks at the bolts, or the cheap bolts simply shear off. No such problem with this chair. Lastly, it's extremely comfortable. The seat cushion is excellent. Not too firm, not too soft. The seat back features a breathable mesh with a built in lumbar support. The contour of the seat back is perfect. I have zero back pain using this chair! If you're looking for a quality big and tall chair, LOOK NO FURTHER!

Short Girl Problems
Full disclaimer, I knew ahead of time that this is a BIG & TALL chair. I wanted that and I've read dozens of reviews on multiple chairs on Amazon before deciding on this chair. I'm not returning it, but it doesn't meet all the standard pros of good BIG chairs. It is definitely better than my last chair. I wanted to let any girls out there know a bit about the chair since a lot of the reviews cover the Big and Tall aspect but not the norms for girls looking for at home office chairs. This won't apply to everyone by a long shot, but hopefully it helps others that just want a big chair. I work from home and need an 8-9hr chair. My desk is 30 inches tall with slightly elevated monitors. I have a foot stool because my feet don't hit the ground if I sit all the way back in any chair. Totally expected that here, so that's not a "dislike." I'm 5'3" and 200lbs. I typically sit with my legs up in my chair folded under me and I tilt my chairs back most of the time. (Think recliner still minus the legs!) Stay with me here... that's my comfy place to zone in for work. So, I needed a chair that tilts and has a wide and deep seat to accomplish this. Now, let's talk about pros and cons based on the non-typical use of the chair, with the hopes that others might find this useful. Pros - 1) Great wide and deep seat (the main reason for purchase) 2) Seat is sturdy foam and is by far the most comfortable (1st week assessment, will update if it flattens quickly). 3) Love the adjustable arms, but they do bump my 30" tall desk if fully up or if I tilt. 4) The tilt is great, but it does wobble a little, which I'd find concerning for long term use or heavy use. 4) Easy to put together by myself. 5) Rollers are very smooth on my floor mat under/around my desk. Cons 1) Cost - bit high, but you typically get what you pay for and it is consistent with this chair. 2) The back is not great, by a long shot. Since I prefer to recline, the mesh doesn't instill confidence in wear over time. Plus, the lumbar support piece of plastic digs into my mid-lower back pretty badly. I cannot image more weight on it being comfortable, but maybe a taller person wouldn't have as many problems. For me, I added a lumbar support pad to compensate, but that makes you lose seat room since it pushes you forward. It's not a deal breaker, but it isn't great. When I don't tilt, the back isn't an issue at all. 3) The height, for short people - so not the chair's fault. Yes, I KNOW it is for Big and Tall, but short chunky people like a big chair to fold up into, too! That being said, my desk is "desk height" and so no matter what you look like, the chair will bang into the desk with the arms if you have them on the top two settings (or if you tilt back at all). Also, the chair does not go very low to the ground. It does go very high, which would be great for tall folks, but for me it is even taller than most desk chairs at the lowest height (I anticipated this, so I really can't complain on that point though). Overall, It's at a moderate price with both good and bad features for my needs. Much better than the cheaper versions I've had because of the seat and arms. Not as great because of the back of the chair and the range of adjustments. Depending on how it holds up would ultimately determine if I purchased another at the end of this one's lifespan. Hope this review helps anyone else who isn't necessarily Big and Tall but still want a larger chair.

Big Man (and women) Certified!
Like so many products, this chair is marketed towards "big and tall" people- its even the first line in the description! But where so many other products fail, this one comes thru with flying colors! Never in my life have i had a chair that felt so supportive and so... made for me. Seriously, this seat cushion feels like one of those extra cushions you have to buy to feel some support (big people, you KNOW what im talking about!) and the width?!? Get out of here. This chair seat is SO WIDE- it feels like im on the set of some "honey i shrunk the kids" sequel- only this thing is NOT some low budget straight to DVD- this chair is PRIME TIME. Putting it together was simple enough, so much that my wife and I put two of them together in about 30 minutes. The Allen Wrench supplied inside fit like a charm, and worked even better. The arm rests have a slot (instead of screw holes) so you can adjust how wide you want them, and because of my size (and disappointment in SO. MANY. OTHER. "big & tall" chairs), i opened mine up as far as it would go. The dang chair wouldnt even fit thru the door to get into my office! Size matters, and this thing pays off in spades. The parts seem sturdy, and they fit together well enough. We Big & Tall people know what it feels like to sit in something that... **might** support us. You dont have to think twice in this chair. Its supportive, comfortable, adjustable, and airy enough to not make you hot. (Seriously, this thing is so supportive i feel it should be moonlighting as a life coach or something.) All in all- Big & Tall peoples- this chair is amazing! Ditch your racer style office/gamer chair and get something that ACTUALLY lives up to the tag "Big & Tall"!

Hopefully no more pressure soars!!!
This is a preliminary review. I just got the chair today. But I can say that the chair is much more comfortable than what I had. I was getting pressure sores on that old chair. And I hope that doesn't happen with this one, the padding's much more thick and dense than the old one. I have an undertable bicycle pedal thing that I use. The old chair the wheels were slightly soft, and the chair would stay in place when I peddled. I'm on plank flooring. The wheel's on this new chair are very hard and rolls very easy. So it's not going to work well. I'm gonna have to buy some wheels that's got brakes on them. The chair bottom is very wide and deep so that fits me very well. The chair looks really nice and of course, black is the color I always buy chairs in. Although I do wish that the back was taller and had a head rest. I'm looking to add a headrest if I can find something. I'm old, so i'm not sure about the value for money. Things were so much cheaper when I was young. In my opinion today there really is no value for money. Everything's too expensive.

Sadly, a very uncomfortable and cheaply constructed chair..
I had high hopes for this chair after deciding to replace my previous chair (Flash Furniture Hercules) after 3 years of use (review here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RPSNVR0FSATWH). Sadly, just before the time of purchase, we had to put down one of our dogs due to a medical issue, and her name was Sadie. Thought this was a good sign as I was in the market for a good chair - unfortunately it was far from it! :-( Some background on my chair use - I work 50-60 hours a week in the IT field, have worked from home for the past 7 years and typically have 12-16 weekends where I work an additional 40 hours or so between Friday evenings and Monday mornings to migrate Client's data when they are out of the system. I'm 6'4" and am currently 430lbs. Yes, I know I'm technically over the supported weight for this chair, but typically that is all around the lift cylinder and not the chair construction itself (see more on the lift cylinder below) The previous chair was great for the first two years, then started to have hardware failures and seat cushion wear-out. Near the end of using the previous chair, I could only sit in it around an hour or so before I started to have tailbone and hip pain. The Sadie chair was fine the first month or so, I could sit in it for around 7-8 hours (maybe getting up once or twice) before I started to feel discomfort. I have now had this chair for 4 months (purchased June 11 2020, review is Oct 15 2020). I start to get tailbone and hip pain after around 30 minutes of sitting in this chair. I have adjusted it up/down, changed the arm rest height, nothing helps. (other than a new chair, which is on its way today). This chair feels like there is no padding whatsoever as soon as you sit down, it's just hard plastic and metal separated by a cloth layer against your bum and legs. As for assembly, two of the bolts snapped off when initially assembling it, and I had to put washers under the heads of 3 others as the holes in the mounting bracket were either oblong or just plain larger all around than the heads of the bolts supplied. They were also Grade 3 bolts. The supplied hardware was sealed in what appeared to be the original packaging, so don't think someone returned this and gave me janky hardware (which I've seen on other chairs ordered from Amazon). See pics for the oversized mounting holes and the washers I had to put underneath of most of the bolts. Fortunately I was able to take the rest of the bolts back out, remove the bracket and use a pair of vice grips to back out the two bolts that snapped off as they still had part of the shaft exposed after the heads broke off. I had some grade 5 bolts and washers that worked until replacements showed up. Speaking of which... This chair squeaked the entire 3 days I used it between the time that I ordered replacement Grade 5 socket head cap screw (bolts) and oversized steel washers from McMaster and the time I swapped them out. The chair does feel much more sturdy with them replaced. I also upgraded to a heavy duty lift cylinder when I did the hardware switch as the one provided wobbled, even though it appeared to be completely seated in the pedestal. I had planned on going straight to the heavy duty cylinder, but given that this chair was rated for 400lbs, I thought I would at least see how long it lasted before it started to fall. Unfortunately it made the chair feel wobbly enough that it was a safety concern for me, so I swapped it out to this one: B078BPJ6W1 Lastly, I didn't even bother with the supplied casters, I went with (and suggest you all go with these or a sealed top version similar to these) B07V3HMLKT immediately. Even though I never intended on putting the stock casters on, I did evaluate them. The supplied casters were very cheaply constructed, two of the retaining rings on the tops of the shafts didn't even line up and when I held the casters in my hand and rolled them, it felt like there were grains of sand or metal or something inside, didn't roll smoothly at all. A "regular" set of rollerblade style wheels is a MUST upgrade over the stock ones, however the ones referenced above have sealed bearings instead of a cheap mild steel cap that bends over time with use and lets the ball bearings fall out and end up all over the floor and can be a slipping hazard (not to mention the little black grease streaks they created on your chair mat!!). As mentioned before, a replacement chair it on its way, will be sure to write a follow up review to that one, so please follow me if you are interested in how the replacement fares.

Roomy and comfortable, but beware of the weak base
For those who are tired of having their office chair arms dig into their sides all day, this chair is your hero. The wide seat and thick cushion will give you a comfortable and productive all-day sit, and the mesh seat back with built-in lumbar support will help keep your back cool while it encourages good posture. Even if you don't find regular office chairs too restrictive in size, the extra elbow room in this chair will be a welcome upgrade to your standard task chair. *** UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER *** Unfortunately, after a year of use the chair had to be replaced, because the base had become wobbly. How does that happen, you ask? The person using the chair tended to sit toward the front of it, which created shear stress on the piston. By chance, I observed the piston leaning slightly toward the front of the chair while in use. The base at the point the piston attaches to it isn't sturdy enough to prevent the piston from acting like a pry bar and bending the base over time. That probably happened to different legs at different times, but one caster ended up 1/2" higher than the others, which made for a wobbly base and slightly off-kilter chair. Plus the chair made a lot of creaking noises despite me occasionally tightening all the bolts and spritzing a little WD-40 on all the pivot points. On balance, what began as a promising heavy-duty chair ended up a disappointment. So I bought a different chair whose base can better withstand this type of stress, and had to lower my rating on this one from five stars to three.

Very Comfortable!
This chair is extremely comfortable! It has a generously sized seat and high back. In fact I use a small back cushion because the seat is a little too deep for me. But I really enjoy the larger width. And I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the seat cushion is very cushy and springy, almost like a mattress. I read some reviews that complained about the packaging. However mine arrived in perfect condition. I have bought several different chairs of this nature from other vendors, and this was one of the easiest to assemble! The instructions were quite clear. All of the screws and small parts were separated in their own bubble and clearly marked. And it came with some extra screws. In fact all of the parts were clearly marked, even the front and back of the seat cushion. The arms are adjustable in height. When attaching the arms there is about a half inch play on each side, so you can make the arms a little wider or narrower, which is a nice bonus. The only thing about the chair is that the back is quite high and wide. This is great for comfort. However I use the chair as a mobility aid to get around my house with hands free, and I find it a little clumsy sometimes. I find myself hitting the back into the wall. But that is a small thing. It really is one of the best chairs I have found of this type that supports a higher weight limit. Also, it may seem a little pricey compared to normal chairs, but as far as big and tall chairs go, it is pretty reasonably priced. I bought a big and tall chair from another vendor 2 years ago which was quite expensive, and did not last. For that kind of money, I expect the chair to last for several years. Hopefully this chair will wear well over time, but it's too soon to know about that.
