We used these for some nice lighting in our gazebo, which sits over a hot tub. The lights are very good and easy to install. We enjoyed them for most of the winter, but they died by the end of the season, either due to the cold (New England) or the wet. To help ensure the replacement lasts, I've purchased an all-weather box to place the adapter and controller into hoping it will provide enough protection to get through our harsh climate. 5 stars for being simple to install and including a highly customizable app. -1 for not being weatherproof enough. +1 for great customer service that replaced them quickly.

I admit it, I've fallen in love with Govee. The products are high quality and do what the marketing messages and photos say they will. But there are limits to their durability, just like every product. With this brand, and specifically this product, I recommend you remain aware of how much handling (pushing, squeezing, squishing, or bending) you do to get it into the space you have available or the shape you want it to conform too. The 98.4ft length comes as 3 sections that connect by a short length of wire and a water-tight low-voltage screw connection. I installed mine under the aluminum coping that is the flat cap on the parapet wall that surrounds our roof top deck. The light washes the half-height wall providing us with either a nice low-level ambient lighting feel already the deck, or the ability to turn up the energy and just have fun with the the colored patterns racing around us. As far as durability... I was took a decent amount of care installing the lights, but admittedly I had to squish the light strip into a couple of tight spots. I must have pushed the limit on how much I could squish the light strip in one segment as the blue colored LED's are no longer working in a segment about 18" or so. This HAS NOT impacted any of the patterns or colors in the rest of the that particular light strip or the other two strips in this kit... I guess that's one advantage of individually addressable LEDs. Fortunately, I only need to replace one segment. It would be a real bummer if I had to buy the entire 98 ft roll again and replace the entire thing. On Eric's "Who should attempt this at home?" spectrum for installing electrical and home lighting products, this rates a solid "You Should !"

I waited one year to see how these hold up, and I am loving them. Sticking well except high risk areas where I turned corners without adding more brackets there. Good 3M adhesive strips plus the small brackets you screw down seem to work well. I am hoping for no more ladders to put up lights! One year in SW Ohio weather and going strong! Drawback? No black option for Bengals fans. I only run at 60% brightness or it would blind people (Half joking). Remote control: I just get on my phone app to change things up in a few seconds. Customer support was not good for problem with direct-from-Govee shipment issue on different product so be aware they don’t even have a number to call, but I have lots of products and love the quality, so that was first time I even tried to contact them. No problems with Amazon deliveries.

I seldom post reviews but my experience with this Govee lights was nothing but an absolute waste of money I like Govee products and they are usually good but this specific light I had ordered to light up the front frame of my house for Halloween and Diwali last year. Within 3 months of using the lights they stopped working. First time I had ordered the exact same light was in 2024. It worked for 4-5 months and then almost 50% of the lights stopped working. I hired a professional to look if it’s some easy fix but he saw that the place where the two strips connect had become black and was beyond repair Second time I purchased the exact same light was in 2025 for lighting up my house for Halloween and Diwali. The lights worked for 2-3 months and then the exact same problem as the previous year only difference is that this time > 50% of the lights went bad. I noticed the same problem this time as last year I hope Govee support team fixes this problem for customers as I am now looking at alternate products which are durable I spent approx 300$ combined for the lights purchased in 2024 and 2025 and over 400$ to install and troubleshoot earlier problems. Feels like such a waste of money. Don’t think I will purchase lights from Govee until they fix these problems and help customers Govee please do better. You have a solid product line which works until it doesn’t

The color is nice and the app works well. I bought the 98 ft roll, #1 they don't label the rolls so make sure you don't accidentally start to put your end roll in the middle of the pattern as you hang them. One roll is not like the others, I learned that the hard way and had to take one down. The clips work nice though I wish they had 3M tape on them as well that would have been a huge help. The clips can be screwed in but the screws that come with it are complete trash. Even drilling a pilot hole they strip out super easy. I just bought replacements at HD. For the price of the strips compared to other brands the mounting hardware should have been nicer as these lights come in at 2-3X the price of some others. Hopefully they hold up well. I will give credit as the patterns built in are nice, lots of cool options for some reason there is a Miami Dolphins pattern, but only them, no other NFL team??? lol

I was so sick of climbing up on the roof each Christmas, unrolling the tangled mess of icicle lights and plugging them into messy extension cords. Each year there was always the nagging letters from HOA asking to take down the lights again just a day after New Years. I also wanted to have lighting for all occasions like Halloween, Christmas, New Years or Valentine’s Day. I did my research, compared features and pricing - these lights are exactly what I needed. I control everything from my Govee app, along with the dozens of other Govee lights, plugs sensors and buttons I have. I can time them to come on and off each night, change scenes with the click of a button. I will say that good planning is absolutely necessary for the installation. Make sure to measure everything twice. When installing the lights, find the roll of lights that doesn’t have a connection on one end - that’s the end roll. I started my installation from the end of my run and worked my way back to the outlet I installed under the eaves - one on the west side and one on the east side. I cleaned the eaves with a cloth and rubbing alcohol to prep for the adhesive backing - however more is needed to keep them on long term. I was installing over 200 ft of rope lights on my house, so I wasn’t about to screw in hundreds of plastic clips. Instead used the battery powered Milwaukee cable stapler which made the job a breeze and didn’t damage the strips (it’s designed for stapling electrical wire). About 3 hours work to install it all. While the transformer and button say rated for wet outdoor environments, the elements will still shorten their lifespan, so I installed them inside a plastic water tight junction box and used silicone to seal up the hole for wires. Check out the video for the results - I’m impressed and it’s totally worth it.

These strip lights are a great value for the money. I am able to control the brightness, lighting options and timer settings with my iPhone. It is easy to connect and very versatile. I highly recommend these lighting strips.

I wanted lights that I could leave mounted under my eaves year round. I found these quite easy to install but not having great faith in the 3M tape to hold them in place, decided to use permanent clips. The lights includes some clips but not enough to properly hold the lights so I searched Amazon, tried some that didn't fit despite claiming that they would. Well I found some that do work - almost identical the the ones that came with the lights. They are MECCANIXITY Waterproof LED Strip Mounting Clips Holder Mounting Bracket Support Fixing Clamps Fit 12mm to 14mm Silicone LED Strip Lighting Translucent Pack of 120 for $CDN 20.49 though I am going to buy #6 screws to replace the #4 screws that come with the clips. I took a bit of learning but in the end the lights were fairly simple to program. They are very bright, seem durable, and give very good colour.

Me encantan, ya tengo tiras led para el interior y en más de tres años no han fallado. Tengo la guirnalda en el exterior (Patio) y de igual forma en 3 años no he presentado ningún problema. Por ser fan de su marca y por su calidad, decidí comprar estos leds para el exterior y simplemente son increíbles. Lo único complicado es pegarlas, en las tiras de interior su cinta doble cara es super resistente y al día de hoy no he tenido que darles mantenimiento porque desde que las pegue así se quedaron: Pegadas. En estas de exterior vienen con soportes que si o si te "Obliga" a taladrar y agujerar donde las quieras poner, sin embargo, tuve que comprar cinta doble cara automotriz y listo, fue suficiente para que no se despegaran, ojalá govee pueda considerar poner doble cara de calidad como las led de los interiores.
