Does the job
This is the best filter I have had in my small pond. It is really easy to take apart to clean filter elements. Need to put weights inside to make it sink to the bottom.

Excellent
Exactly what I needed to replace the one I had. I had been using the other one for about 8 yrs.. great product and easy to clean the filter.

Clears pond
I have used two for a couple of years. Basically a sturdy plastic box. Clears up my 1500 gal. Pond. Depends on the size of your pump motor.I use a Danner 700 on one and a 950 on one. Easy to use. Precut filter replacements are expensive. I buy filter roll and cut my own to fit. I add flat rock so it sinks better. Box tends to float to top of water. Plastic box tube connection hole running to pump motor could be stronger. This is where box connection cracks because of weight of pump hose when you take it out. In winter the connecting tube between motor and box becomes brittle and breaks. Difficult to lift out without some flexing of the connection to the pump which puts pressure on the opening in the filter box. This where its prone to crack. May need to shorten the hose. Has a inside bottom grate that filter sits on. This is screwed down .Thinner plastic. Broke. unable to replace as a separate part. Had to buy a complete new filter. But lasted a couple of years. I would rebuy but be careful where the tubing fits when you replace filter. Northland Pond guys suggested cutting off corners of the carbon filter. This is helps draw the water thru the top filter. I use this technique.

Great filter!
I've tried 3 different filters in my water garden. The first was a skimmer that ended up sucking in and killing a few fish and tadpoles, an above ground filter and finally this one. This filter is by far the best. The water has never been clearer. The trick to cleaning it without dumping dirty water back into the pond is to let the pump run until after you have lifted the filter out of the water. I also like the fact that this filters water before it goes through the pump.

Perfect for a small pond
I have been using two of these in a 1000 gallon pond for going on 20 years now, both with 1000gph pumps. One is connected to a fountain and the other runs water into a bio-filter. They are convenient, easy to clean and durable. The filter pads can be cleaned many, many many times, so the expense is low. After all these years of use, one filter finally broke at the hose connection. Everything is plastic, so eternal life isn't in the cards. Considering the cost of the unit, the cost of use, the EASE of use and the many years of trouble free service, I recommend these without reservation.

Good adapters included. Filter pads just ok
Adapters included for easy connection. I bought as a secondary pond filter to clear up muddy water. Too small for my pond. Maybe Would be good for smaller pond or aquarium. After a few days I replaced it with a milk crate filter I made that had 10 times the filter surface that worked much better. Would work well as a pre filter to submersible pump.

Great filter, and easy to repair
I inherited a couple of these filters with my house, 4 years ago. They were part of a split 500 gal. fish pond in the courtyard. Sadly, I rough-handled one and broke off the outlet flange, so I ordered a new one. The new one is identical and works great. It comes with filters installed. You might have to open it up (4 screws) to add a weight to get them to sink. The broken one was easily fixed with some MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) because it is PVC plastic. Pipe cement may also work.

Green pond is clear!
I wasnโt sure about this as it seems a little flimsy, but it cleared our green pond within days. The extra layer of finer foam and large surface area compared to many other all in one pump/filters has worked very well.
