What are the health benefits

Saffron definitely contains antioxidants which can help protect against chronic conditions caused by oxidative stress and free radicals in the body. Cancer and heart disease are a couple of big ones. Although, considering there is no evidence suggesting that the antioxidants found in saffron are more beneficial than those you can get by eating other fruits and vegetables the cost of using saffron this way makes it quite expensive. The other things saffron MAY improve in some people are mood, weight loss, nervous system disorders, sexual function, and the reduction of PMS symptoms. The fact is that there isn’t enough medical research to back those claims up so take them with a grain of salt until, if ever, more conclusive studies take place.

Saffron has a slightly pungent floral flavor. The Zaran Saffron I ordered was very rich and had a subtle honey flavor as well.

Is 4oz a lot of saffron

Yes 4oz of saffron is A LOT. About $700 too.

Great question. Our Saffron Is grown sustainably without any chemicals, pesticides or chemical fertilizers. 94% of the worlds saffron comes from the same region. Organic is a trademarked term with the USDA, although our product is not certified organic, we do grow our saffron sustainably. If anyone is making this claim selling saffron you should ask for a certification. It’s very unlikely that this would exist.
