The Good Bite’s High Protein Meal Prep Manual: Delicious, easy low-calorie recipes with full nutritional breakdowns & food-tracking barcodes : Kirkland, Niall, Bite, The Good: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Best cookbook I've ever had - Usually with most cookbooks they can be great but there'll still be a fair few recipes that just don't appeal to me for one reason or another and I think it's the same for everyone. Well I got this book and started looking through it expecting the same things. Except EVERY single recipe looked and sounded absolutely amazing. Got to the end of the book and there literally wasn't a single recipe that I wouldn't make. Each recipe is well structured with easy to follow steps. The ingredients list on the side is really nicely sectioned so that you know what ingredients are needed for each part of the dish allowing you to make any changes at a glance e.g. say you want to do a different sauce for a recipe then you know what ingredients you dont need to get because they're only for the sauce. Theres pictures to accompany every recipe which I love as it shows me what I'm aiming for it to look like at the end. The nutritional breakdown is very clear and helpful. The barcode is absolutely brilliant and has made it so that I actually cook a lot more at home while tracking because I don't have to bother with the hassle of adding each ingredient. I use LoseIt and it works perfectly with the app. So far I've made 4 recipes from different sections of the book in the month i've had it and they've all turned out amazing. So tasty, full of flavour, visually appealing, and wonderfully filling. Looking forward to trying all the recipes available. My only downside is the "slow cooker" sections which I unfortunately can't make use of as I don't have a slow cooker. However, the section is only a very small part of the book with about 5 or 6 recipes. It would have been ideal if these recipes included an alternative for cooking in the oven or hob instead. Review: Amazing meal prep book - I first started following Niall on Instagram, and instantly became hooked on his recipes, as not only are they incredibly tasty, but they are simple to make and he always provides the calories and macros. So I could not wait to get this book, and I have to say he has not let me down, as the book provised some updated favourites as well as huge range of new recipes. The big bonus about this book for me, is that it provides barcodes for each recipe, so I can keep track on MyFitness Pal, so no more creating new recipes on the app just so I can track.

Simple, Quick Recipes—but Needs More Flavour
I really appreciate how simple and easy the recipes in this book are. The meals are quick to prepare, making it perfect for busy days when I don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen. The instructions are clear, and the ingredients are accessible, which is a big plus. However, I found that some of the dishes tasted quite bland and needed a bit of tweaking to enhance the flavours. A little extra seasoning or spice adjustments can make a big difference. If you don’t mind experimenting slightly, this book is a great time-saver for everyday meals. Would recommend for anyone looking for fuss-free, speedy cooking—but be ready to add your own flavour boost!

Really easy and tasty
I absolutely love this cookbook. I've made several of the recipes and haven't had a bad one yet. Everything's super easy, you don't have to go hunting in several supermarkets to find unusual ingredients, and I feel like I'm eating good healthy stuff! This definitely isn't a book for pro chefs or anybody expecting super whizzy dishes to impress people with. The meals are simple and nutritious, and great for lunches and mid week meals. I personally struggle to think of what to make for dinner day in day out, and this book has made life really simple. Especially as many of the recipes use the same/similar ingredients and spices so you don't have to go buy hundreds of pounds worth of food.

Lovely recipes!
I have tried a couple of the recipes in this book and so far they have been very tasty. As I have some very fussy eaters in my family and I am trying to stick to a proteing and calorie goal myself, this really helps simplify my cooking. I can prep meals for myself and take the hassle out of cooking for a few days at a time.

Easy to follow, using good ingredients
Fantastic book! Delicious, filling, healthy (no daft, processed or obscure) ingredients with simple to follow recipes. I've recommended this book to several friends and know of at least one who has purchased it.

Good diet book, better heating instructions required though
Ive had the recipe book for a couple weeks now as I wanted to try some of the recipes before I left a review. So far what Ive tried has all been delicious, the book has made meal planning and calorie counting very simple and my "diet" feels less like a diet as a result. Ive been having 3 meals a day plus one of the protein puds and have managed to stay in deficit. My only bugbear is that, whilst there are accommodations for people who dont own an airfryer, there is an assumption on some of the recipes (like the breakfast croissants) that you have access to one for reheating. Which I personally dont. And whilst there are reheating instructions mentioned at the front I feel like it would be a nice touch to have some specific instructions on each recipe rather than a general one as I wouldnt really reheat pasta dishes in an airfryer or oven. I also think it might be nice to have some microwave instructions for some meals too. Apart from that, excellent book.

Basic recipes. The only good thing is that if you use MFP there is a bard code you can scan and it updates MFP

Good stuff! Most of the meals are high in protein, and cater to diverse flavor profiles. Love that it's all meal prep friendly. Our favorites are the breakfast cookies. So good!

Book contains great recipes that are easy to make. It is nice that there is a variety of different styles of food. Love that that macros are included so you can easily keep track of your protein intake. Carbs in the meals were a bit higher than I expected.

Basic at best. Not very inspirational or exciting. Most main dishes have chicken as the ingredient which I could probably work out myself without a book. Overall disappointing as seems well reviewed

I rarely provide reviews on Amazon but I feel this book warrants a review. I have now made 5 recipes from this book so far with plans to make every single recipe and they’ve all been 5 stars. I’m an experienced home cook and what I love about this book compared to the collection of recipe books I have is that every recipe is practical and it’s what anyone would eat on a day to day basis. Their super quick, few ingredients but the flavour profile is on point. I do appreciate that most of the recipes have very small amounts of salt and the majority is high protein. Each recipe leaves room for tweaking but I can assure you, I haven’t had to tweak the five that I’ve already made.
