Brown Quilted Rain Coat - Men's & Women's Outdoor Enthusiasts - Large, UK Size

Read the reviews and took into account the general comments about the sizing coming up a little large, so I ordered a Medium being a slim(ish) 42 inch chested male of 5'8'' and the fit is perfect, even down to the length of the sleeves. I can fully concur with the other reviewers about the brilliant quality of the jacket for the money. In fact I have recently seen exactly the same jacket, albeit with a different label and slightly different style of poppers, in a shop for double the price! I use the jacket for general dog walking and beating on a local shoot, so it has already come in for some serious abuse battling through waist-high bramble, thorns and barbed wire fencing and come out with flying colours - no tears or rips at all! The jacket is lined and has some thermal insulation making it warm enough when walking, even on freezing days. I find there is enough room to get a thick jumper underneath too without any restriction on movement. The only thing I would say is that the collar fastening is a little snug, which is not normally a problem unless you try to get a jumper underneath that has a thick, high collar. In which case you won't be able to have the zip and top popper done up. I've not found this to be a problem, as I would normally get too hot walking any distance dressed like that, but I thought that I'd mention it. The zip is metal, nice and chunky and does up first time, every time without snagging. The poppers close with a firm click and don't loosen up like some cheap one's I've come across in the past. The cartridge-style pockets are large enough to be useful, I like the slanted Napoleon-style hand-warmer pockets which are perfectly positioned for me and there is a large poachers-style pocket inside, which is great if you're walking around with a fresh-baked loaf of bread, have no bag and it's raining - don't ask! I've yet to test the jacket in a torrential downpour, but it's coped admirably with moderate, steady rain without leaking. As with all waxed jackets though, it's not going to be as waterproof long-term, as say a Gortex jacket, unless you re-proof it regularly and the outer will take longer to dry fully. However, there's no way I'd take my expensive Gortex walking jacket bramble bashing, it'd be ripped to pieces in a few minutes whereas this thing just shrugs it off! My wife was so impressed, she immediately ordered one of here own in Small, which again fitted her size 14, 5'3'' build fine, although she does finds the arms an inch or so too long. However, if she has ordered the next size down, she doesn't think she'd have been able to get a jumper underneath. All in all, for the price, what's not to like!? The item was dispatched extremely quickly too.

I don't normally do reviews but this is a case of a small company British, providing outstanding quality at a very reasonable price, so here goes. Previously I've had Barbours but the manufacture and quality of this is way better and at a fraction of the price. In fact the feel of it is quite luxurious. Completely waterproof and very warm and quite stylish. I shouldn't bother with Barbours again. Well done!

Just got this so can't comment on the waterproof qualities as it hasn't rained yet. It seems very well made and the coat is warm enough although I suspect a jumper would be needed when the white stuff starts falling. Nice to see it's made in England. I have read a lot of reviews relating to the size of this coat. all I can say is this; I am 6ft 5 and 18 stone. I got the xxl and Its fine across the chest and around the waist and although it fits, I would have liked it if it was a bit longer in the arm and in length in general. I am not sure if I could wear a thick jumper under this, but a sweatshirt and tee shirt would be fine. I would have got an xxxl if they made one. I would definitely recommend this coat and a hood included in the price is a bonus, all in all good value for money (it's just not xxl in a m&s way!)*********** update, got caught walking the dogs in a torrential downpour and I can say without a doubt the coat is waterproof, unlike my jeans which were not.

Wind proof, rain proof looks expensive, nice colour, good size plenty of room, good zipper, good value for money and good quality product

This coat is one of the best I have ever bought!! It keeps you warm in the cold and it is the first coat that has actually kept me dry in the downpours!!! British made = quality!! Highly recommend and a great price!!!

Husbands review. Been looking to buy a wax jacket for a few months getting ready for winter when walking the dog. Saw this product advertised at what I consider to be a very reasonable price, (go outdoors sell a similar jacket by 'Toggi' at £161.00). Now I know the saying 'you get what you pay for' and maybe in time that may come true. However I read the reviews on this jacket and decided that there must be some accuracy in what other purchasers were saying. I am a 5'11'' man weighing around 13 stone ,42 chest, broad shoulders, with a little middle age spread around the waist,I would usually buy a large in coats but guided by the comments in relation to the generous size I opted for a medium in 'olive'. The item was delivered within 3 days of my order, well packaged. Having tried it on firstly with a t shirt the jacket fitted fine, I then put a thick jumper on and tried the jacket again, a little snug (not tight) but the sleeve length came over my wrists and still enough room to move my arms without feeling to restricted across the back. The length was perfect covering my backside (so no draughts there). The jacket is well padded and certainly appears a lot more expensive than its retail price. Obviously we are all different shapes and sizes and my views are based on my personal spec, I do feel though that a large would have buried me, I think it fair to say that the jacket on me looks 'fitted' ( the choice is yours). My wife tried the jacket on , she is a size 14/16 ,5'6'' and my opinion was that the jacket looked a little to big particularly on the arms and across the back. I am very pleased with my purchase and now need a bit of rain to test the waterproff element.

It’s a great coat. Good padding to keep warm and seems to be well made. The sleeves are very short. I have a size L coat and the sleeves are 50mm shorter than most of my other size L coats. If anything I would hope they were longer than normal due to the type of coat, not shorter.

Not one for normally leaving reviews but have to say what a fantastic bargain this coat is, every bit as good as my old Barbour that it's replaced, it feels lovely on and has a nice weight to it size wise this size large replaced an extra large so quite roomy, also nice to see something made in Britain something sadly lacking these days.

Non è un Belstaff(avuti due da moto negli anni '80) ma vale sicuramente il rapporto qualità prezzo. Forse odora di cera più del dovuto. Mancano tasche interne. Tasche pettorali esterne poco profonde per contenere cellulare.

Ce blouson remplace un blouson similaire Je connais ce genre de vêtement, car j'en ai un d'une autre marque venant de chez les UK aussi, et celui-ci a été acheté pour le remplacer. Il n'y a pas de poche intérieur pour y mettre des papiers, la poche est située en bas à gauche et est faite à mon avis, et je m'en sers à ça, pour y mettre la capuche détachable. Les deux poches sur le devant en bas sont très profondes, les deux pour mettre les mains à l’abri des éléments sont idéalement placées, pas trop haut, pas trop bas. Il n'y a pas d'autre poche. Tissus épais, doublure épaisse et rembourrage peu être un peu trop en mis-saisons, lors de grand-froid peut-être pas. Elle n'est pas sur toute la longueur du vêtement, elle s’arrête à la taille. Le rembourrage est en synthétique, le reste du vêtement est en coton, tout le reste, pour un tel prix c'est à retenir ! La capuche est comme dit précédemment détachable et fixée par trois boutons et comme dit : rembourrée, C'est important lorsqu'il fait froid de ne pas avoir froid à la tête et souvent négligé lors de l'achat. La longue est entre un blouson et un ¾, c'est une longueur bâtarde, mais elle me convient. Pour moi qui fais 1m80, il s’arrête au quart haut des cuisses.(comme sur la photo) Pas de cordon à la taille. Deux petits reproches : concernant la taille elle est un peu surévaluée, le XXL taille un peu petit. (il y a d’après certains vendeurs 2 tailles XXL, un XXL petit et un grand, bizarre, mais c'est ainsi) Voire plus bas le cc d'un tableau de taille pour un manteau. Le col n'a pas de patte pour le fermer comme il y en avait un sur le vêtement que celui-ci va remplacer (je l'utilisais, c'est pour ça que j'en fais la remarque). Gênant lorsqu'il y a du vent et qu'il fait froid. Il n'est pas mentionné de frais d’expédition, ils sont de 6 €, peut-être un peu élevé, mais l'envoi est fait par avion et le colis arrive très vite.
