Smart watch for cheap
I know it says that it's a fitness watch, and yeah, it can absolutely be used like one, but I use it as a smart watch. The instructions are trash, so this is what you need to know. Click the button twice to get to the rest of the features. That's it, lol. All joking aside, the app is great! It doesn't track you unless you want it to, and I don't need my watch to track where I go for a run, only the amount of steps I take, which it can do without tracking your location. It holds about three days worth of info, so I unpair at night and re-pair in the morning, that way I get my sleep info without wasting watch+phone battery. In the Tozo Health app there's a location to make premade response messages for texts. If there's something you say a lot ("O.K.," "Will Do," "Thanks," etc.) you can set them up there and use them on the watch. I don't know the limit, but I've written a whole sentence and it works just fine. Speaking of the info, the sleep info is fairly accurate for me. I know others have said it isn't for them, so I don't know what to say to that, but it is for me. Also, the step counter can be off, but I'm not counting my exact number of steps; I have a range and it falls into it so I'm happy. On the app you can decide what other apps it's allowed to see, so if you're real cautious you can unclick (all apps are clicked on by default) something like a banking app. Images do not come through on the watch, by the way. You DO NOT need to go through the "I have a different type of phone to pair" thingy. You'll understand when you download the Tozo Health app. Just turn on BT and it'll pair up just fine. To make a call you either need to know the phone number by heart or you need to add the contact into the app. I barely call people so this wasn't an issue for me, but YMMV. You can receive all calls from any phone number. There was another reviewer that said to turn off the auto-wake to save battery and it's no joke. I get about two days on auto-wake, but I turned it off and I charge the phone once a month, give or take. It takes about two hours to charge from depleted, though the charging cable likes to not sit properly. If I had to complain it would be about that. It's magnetic, but if it's not situated just perfectly it doesn't work. The strap could be better. I have adult sized wrists and the strap where it clasps together keeps popping open. I do have a complaint about that part, too. I've also managed to accidentally hit the smart watch against things, and it's a little scratched up, but it works just fine! Music! I LOVE that it doesn't play through the watch. I have a BT speaker and I can pair both watch and speaker to phone, then play music through speaker. If I'm in a different location than my phone, say, when I'm cleaning, I can control the BT speaker from my watch. That being said, the range of watch away from phone is suspect. I don't know the exact amount of distance before it doesn't work. I lost my watch and tried to use the "locate watch" on the Tozo Health app and it said watch was too far away, even though they were still paired. I found the watch one room over, so another YMMV situation. As a side note the smart watch works while wearing regular gloves, not just touch-smart gloves. It also comes with a mega load of different watch faces. All in all, however, considering it's a literal smart watch for this price? I think I paid about $35-$40, can't remember the exact price, but it was on sale. This is a steal, and if you want one that won't track your location, sell your data, but still keeps up? This is it.

Great Budget Smartwatch
I’m a spreadsheet guy, to a fault, and my wife regularly talks dirty to me by asking me to compare products for her. When my most recent smartwatch finally crapped out on me after 2.5 years (Mobvoi TicWatch 3 GPS), I waited to see what was going to pop up on my radar so that I could get started on my next spreadsheet journey. I am firmly entrenched in the Google ecosystem so it was going to be either the TicWatch 5 or the Pixel Watch 2… but neither of them were really what I wanted. The TW5 is bulky and expensive and the PW2 is too small… and, also, expensive. I knew there had to be a budget smartwatch on Amazon that could get the job done until the next TW and/or PW came out so I started looking. I stumbled on this one, the S4, because I recognized Tozo as a maker of premium quality yet budget-friendly earbuds. So, I took the leap and here’s my review after 10 days. Battery life: When you unbox your watch, there’s a sticker on the face that advises you to fully charge the watch prior to turning it on and using it. I connected the charger and the watch was already at 94%, so I turned it on and let it rip. That was last Tuesday afternoon (January 9, 2024); my watch died sometime in the middle of the night this past Tuesday morning (January 16, 2024) between 2300 and 0630. When I went to bed it was still at 9%. My TW, initially, held strong at about 48 hours before it needed to charge and, eventually, it trickled down to about 7 hours right before it died. This thing does exactly what I expect it to, which is to simply notify me of calls, texts and emails, just like my TW did, and it lasted 7 days strong on one charge. Also, from totally dead to 100% battery only took about 75 minutes. I am very happy about this. *5/5 UPDATE 01/28/24: I have had this watch for almost three weeks and I just charged it for the THIRD TIME today. Changing my battery life grade by giving it +1, so it is now *6 / 5. Accessories: The charging cable that the watch comes with is proprietary (bummer) and measures about 24.5 inches (WTF?). It is remarkably short. For comparison, the Mobvoi charger that my TW came with measures just shy of 36 inches. Additionally, the magnets that keep the charger attached to the watch are laughably weak. I could pick my TW up by the charging cable when it was attached and I couldn’t even MOVE the S4 itself while the charger was connected because the magnets aren’t strong enough to keep it in the right spot. *1/5, a one (1) only because they include the cable in the box, otherwise it would be zero (0). Continue reading to learn about the watch band… Comfort: The S4 comes with a high-quality silicone band with “Tozo” stamped on it. It’s very similar to what you might see on an Apple Watch, down to the band overlap going under the band to get out of the way. The watch itself, however, isn’t the most comfortable on the wrist and sits kind of weird, most likely due to how large it is. It is noticeably lighter than the TW3 though (for those of you who have one, or who were wondering), coming in at 1.4 oz compared to 2.3 oz (almost 40% lighter). *3.5/5 Screen: The 1.78” AMOLED on this thing is bright - like BRIGHT bright. Luckily, it has 5 brightness settings that you can easily select from, either directly on the watch or in the accompanying app. You can also change the screen time-out intervals in increments of 5 seconds, from 5 seconds up to 30 seconds. The colors aren’t oversaturated and they’re quite crisp. You can also turn on Do-Not-Disturb and/or Silent Mode at night to keep it from making noise when it's quiet. There really isn’t anything to complain about here. *5/5 Watch faces: The advert describes 100+ watch faces and as of right now (01/19/2024), there are a total of 246 - 3 of which are “custom,” meaning you can use a photo of your choosing as the background. The other 243 fall into categories titled, “Simple,” “Personality,” “Colorful,” “Pointer,” “Business Style,” and “Festival.” The sheer number is a bit overwhelming, but then again, so are most of the watch faces. It’s a WYSIWYG shop here: there are no customizable complications and the vast majority of the faces are either distractingly colorful or needlessly busy. The one that I’m currently using, called “Intelligence - Future,” has a comparatively subdued black and blue color scheme but there are some confusing inclusions and omissions. For example: there’s a battery icon at the top right of the screen but there’s also a battery percent reading in the face. Additionally, there are three placeholders for complications; two of them are in use (the previously mentioned battery percentage and heart rate) but the one in between them is empty. Again, there’s no way to select a complication to place there… it’s just a black circle. One of the most frustrating aspects of this watch so far (which is relative, of course) is that there is no option to make your own face or modify the ones that are in the Dial Center. I’ve searched far and wide to see if any savvy devs out there have figured out how to jack into this OS, or even knows what type of OS this thing runs, but so far it seems like no one has had any luck. Hey Tozo - give us a watch builder or at least the option to add/modify complications! *3/5 Processor and OS: Tozo advertises the S4 as having a “high-precision wear chip,” but there doesn’t seem to be any indication of what type of chip is actually running the watch. The same goes with the OS - my assumption is that it’s some kind of RToS, similar to what the One Plus Watch runs/ran, which explains how/why it's so responsive. Honestly though, it doesn’t really matter because it’s snappy and rarely stutters in day-to-day use. *5/5 Intelligent Message Notification: Coming from a WearOS device, I guess I was accustomed to a more robust notification system. Not that the S4 is lacking, because it will definitely let you know when you’ve received a message or email or phone call, but not being able to respond directly from the watch is kind of a bummer. It’s definitely not a deal breaker, but it would be nice to be able to use an on-screen keyboard or voice-to-text to quickly reply to texts and instant messages. In the Tozo Health app, you can create a few canned responses if you decline a call but they can’t be used to respond to any other type of communication. Additionally, you need to be sure to go into the Notification and Reminders section of the app, select “App messages,” then manually select which apps you give permission to notify you otherwise you’ll likely miss them until the next time you look at your phone. Another aspect that took some getting used to is the notification icons that the watch uses. It recognizes FB Messenger and shows the blue bolt-looking thing; it also recognizes Outlook and shows the blue email icon, but it uses a generic one for text messages that looks like a 4-leaf clover. This is just me being picky, I suppose. The main factor to remember here is that this thing concurrently notifies you when notifications come in. My watch vibrates, literally, at the same time as my phone. Also, the vibration motor in this thing is SUPER strong so you will definitely know when it’s going off. I couldn’t say that about my TW. *4/5 Bluetooth Calling: I’ve only used this feature once so far, and it didn’t sound great (the caller’s voice was tinny and distant), but I was outside and the ambient noise level was pretty high. Obviously, this isn’t going to replace a BT or wired headset, or the speakerphone on your device - but to answer a call in a pinch until you can get to your phone, it is totally passable. You can add up to 10 frequent contacts in the app which will sync to your watch so that you can initiate a call if your phone is close by but out of reach. That’s a pretty cool feature that I don’t recall my TW having. *4/5 Fitness Features: Gonna be totally honest - I didn’t buy this watch for the fitness features so I haven’t tested them, nor do I suspect that they would be accurate anyways. Standard on the watch, when swiping right to left, are the HR monitor, Sleep monitor, Stress monitor, Weather screen, and Activity monitor. Based on the comfort of the watch, I’m not interested in wearing it to bed to test the sleep monitor nor would I trust it to keep track of my HR. *X/X Software quirks: Some of the stranger software quirks that I’ve noticed so far are… *The rotating crown employs a satisfying mechanical haptic "bump" when you rotate it, and it does a serviceable job of assisting with menu and screen navigation but when the display is on, rotating the crown will cycle through the five watch faces that live on the device. So, if you’re wearing a long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, or have short hands and put them in your pockets, you may inadvertently swap your watch face. I’ve done it a few times and it’s becoming quite annoying. *The screen has to stay on, and on the timer module, for the timer function to continue counting down. I recently set a timer for 5 minutes then clicked on the crown to return to the home screen and went about my business. It took me quite some time to realize that the timer should have gone off long before then and when I went back into my watch, the timer had reset / the function ended. Overall: For the price, and the features, I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase. The S4 does exactly what I need it to, which is to help me keep my eyes off of my phone - and tell me the time every once in a while. It’s taken a little getting used to the shape (i.e., rectangular [APPLE - BARF!!!] vs circular [Google - HOORAY!!]) but, to be honest, it works much better for reading notifications and not having to worry about square notifications getting cut off by round bezels. The battery life is INSANE, the screen looks great, and it stays connected to my phone consistently. Anyone looking for a high-quality, budget smartwatch, should definitely consider this one.

REVISED - NOW WORKING WELL - Important functions stopped working at 32 days!
UPDATE: The inoperable functions are working again! It has been a week now, and they continue to operate as expected. Don't know if it was simply a glitch, or if I inadvertently set some switch incorrectly through operator error. Revamping my review to reflect 4 Stars. Would give 5 but taking one away for lack of customer support assistance. (old review) Usually an outstanding brand for smart electronics, and I enjoyed my first TOZO smart watch. My most recent purchase of the TOZO S3 smart watch was disappointing in the extreme. Two days after the return window closed for Amazon, several of the "health" related functions stopped working. These were the primary reason I bought the watch. BPM no longer functions nor does "sleep health" function. Step count and i-phone interaction works sporadically. "Awaken upon raising" works only sporadically, requiring a button press to even get the time. I've contacted TOZO customer support multiple times over the past two weeks and have yet to hear back from them. Perhaps a negative review will get some response?

Not worth the paper the guide is printed on.
This is the worst smartwatch I have ever owned. I've had to reset it over 2 dozen times to "fix" issues that just come back. The charge is a joke; I get 3 days at best. I got this brand because my last watch was this brand, and the casing had broken and was unwearable. It randomly disconnects, and I can't turn the mic off on it, so every time I try to use my phone's assistant, it misses 90% of what I said because the watch is so slow to turn on. The only fixes I was given are to turn off the BP monitoring, which is one of the 3 reasons I even bother with a smartwatch. It fits like a kid's watch; it does not fit any other band brand of the correct size, and if you want to use other bands, you have to buy an extender. The screen is very slow to respond, and it tarnishes quickly even with regular cleaning. It has been a nightmare to use. I highly recommend you avoid this model.

TOZO S2 2021 vs S3 2025 model
I bought a Tozo S2 watch back in 2021, mainly to count my steps and check the time while swimming. For three years, I swam with it for hours in both pools and the ocean without a single issue. Eventually, it did develop a problem, but it was my own fault. While in the water, I decided to adjust the brightness and pressed the side button several times. The screen immediately started blinking non-stop. I let the watch sit out for a day, put it on the charger, and it actually started working again! The only catch was that the side button no longer functioned, so I had to activate the palm gesture to see the screen. Not using that gesture and disabling all the health tracking features, the battery lasted up to five weeks at first, and even now still lasts about two to three weeks. The watch is five years old, and I still wear it every day. However, a month or two ago, it lost the ability to sync with the app and the time is no longer accurate. It is finally time to replace it. I had a totally different experience with the Tozo S3 model. After my very first swim with it, the screen became distorted and completely unreadable. Fortunately, Tozo has a generous warranty policy and sent me a replacement right away. Lesson learned: I have now bought a dedicated waterproof watch just for swimming, and I keep my new Tozo completely away from the water.

It’s an OK Fitness Tracker
Lots of fancy features can’t hide problems with core functionality of the watch as a fitness tracker. This is my second Tozo watch after previously owning an S2 that I was decently satisfied with. I use the S4 paired with my iPhone. The S4 has problems staying paired and I regularly need to check and make sure it is still paired. This watch also spontaneously (?) restarts from time to time and loses the data accumulated so far for that day.. The watch loses an entire day’s worth of data at least a couple times a month, which throws off the calculated average monthly steps, minutes of exercise, etc. To be fair, it does track route and distance on runs and walks, and does a good job with heart rate, etc. when it’s working correctly. I just wish the data glitches wouldn’t happen. Generally speaking, this is a watch with a lot of features, including a phone function that works very well, and an OK fitness tracker for the price. Not good or great. I’d spend a little more money and buy a better fitness tracker than this one if that’s important to you.

Nice watch for the price.
UPDATE: Tozo reached out to me after my initial review. Due to some of my concerns, they thought perhaps I had received a defective unit and offered to replace it for me. I accepted their offer and have received the replacement. Due to their diligence and superb customer service, I have upgraded my rating to a 5 star. Good customer service is so rare these days and Tozo has gone above and beyond to make me happy. I would definitely recommend Tozo. I've only had this watch a day now, but one of the main things I was wanting a smart watch for seems to be working as it should with this one ... sleep tracking. I have back and hip issues that prevent me from being able to sleep thru the night. After a few hours I have to get up due to the pain and sometimes it's an hour or more before I can get back to sleep. And since my nighttime sleep is usually less than optimal, I nap thru the day. Today I took a nap for a little over an hour and this watch captured it precisely. I tried a different watch last week and returned it after a couple of days. It would not record any sleep during the day. Plus the step count on that previous watch was WAY off (almost 300 steps to go from one room to another in my house ... I don't think so). This Tozo watch matched my heart rate exactly to the BP monitor I use. The steps seem reasonable and I don't think just moving my arms (while sitting at the computer, or working in the kitchen) affect it. So far the battery life seems very good. The watch I returned last week used almost 30% in one day. Granted I was playing around with it a lot just learning how to use it, but I've also spent a lot of time with this one and the battery is still 92% after 24 hours. I saw in the comments some people referred to this watching have a built-in GPS ... that is NOT the case. The GPS that is used is from the phone. Turn the GPS off on the phone and there's no GPS. So people shouldn't buy this watch expecting to have GPS based on some of the reviews. No where in the description on Amazon does it say anything about GPS being built in. I've never had an Apple or Samsung watch (and probably never will) so I can't compare this watch to either of those. For my needs/wants and the price point I'm very happy with my choice.

I liked the first one so much that I bought another one to replace the worn one.
For a smart watch that costs less than $30, I didn't have high expectations but over a year and a half I fell in love with the first one and didn't hesitate to buy the closest one I could find to my original Tozo S3. There was nothing wrong with the S3, it was just starting to show too much wear and tear for my taste. This one has better battery life than my S3, the app is just as attractive and easy to use, I can answer any calls to my phone from my watch as long as I'm within Bluetooth range of the phone when it's sitting on the charger at home, I can read my phone notifications without opening my phone, I can check weather, make calls to any of 10 contacts that are imported to the watch, it logs all of the typical health data, workout data, etc., and the soft silicone band that it comes with is quite comfortable and easy to clean. This is just simply a great watch at a great price and because of my enthusiasm, my wife and my aunt are also happy owners of this same watch.

Elegant multifunctional smart watch
I got this TOZO S4 smartwatch 1 month before .It is elegant ,multifunctional and user friendly with a reasonable price. It helped me with my health issues like sleep study, heart rate and oxygen saturation, mainly when using TOZO Health app, but I hope to get another app. for other functions of the watch.I had an issue with the watch, but the customer service helped me quickly to solve it.
