It has Petrolatum as opposed to petroleum. I understand that petrolatum is a smooth semisolid mixture of mineral oil and waxes, used as lubricant and in polishes: While petroleum is a flammable liquid ranging in colors from clear to very dark brown and black and consisting mainly of hydrocarbons, occurring naturally in deposits under the earth's surface. There you have it.

What is the name of the black specks in the grease? Im scared they may show visible in the hair.

There is no black specks in the grease,the container was broken just "cracked" that was all and it was still useable so I kept it. It quite alright. It work magnificent and keep my hair well moisturized. Thank you HLB.

How to remove this product from hair?

This can be washed out with shampoo.

Put on finger tip and apply to scalp then massage it in. Put a little in palm, rub palms together then apply to hair
