One awesome cane!!!
First of all this cane is long and solid, from the moment you take it out of the packaging and heft it, it feels the part. Is tall enough for me and Im six foot 4. Its made of ebony wood and is fairly heavy. I bought two of these and both were slightly different, i suppose it depends on the maker because these are hand crafted but no two are identical making them unique. A very satisfying feel to it and not a cane that will break no matter how heavy or clumsy you are. I used a special wax on one of them and it polished up a treat!!! Really pleased with these, would recommend without hesitation.

Not ebony! and not new!!
Ebony is wood with a particular smell when cut. Ebony is black and not semi, and not almost different colours. The stick I received cracked the second day as I left it in the cold inside my car overnight, as I need it there! since I use a walking stick daily. The reason it cracked because it was cracked at the point of making and someone glued it! yes glued. there were chips and damage in it and it was filled with wood filler and dye. If you can download the photos and look carefully you will see what I am sharing with you. I counted 9 areas of filler. On the lower side of the shaft about 30 cm from the ground, the paint wore off when I used Acetone!!! As you guessed, I had to cut almost 9 cm to get it to my height, the smell is a conifer that has been roasted.. what a cheat! I reported it to Amazon. be careful this is not ebony. I have 2 heirloom ebony carved walking sticks but wanted something for every day. I also have many small statues of ebony from my home country. THIS IS NOT EBONY !! and it is NOT NEW. I got it refunded.

Brilliant walking stick!
I purchased this as I wanted a stick tough enough for walking, and also dog proof! This is great, its long enough and tough enough to walk with ( many sticks are much shorter) and the dog tried biting it but gave up as the stick is made of ebony!!

It better be the wood stated
Nice weight, appears solid ebony, shame about the paint which comes off on hands... der, why is it people that have a product like this use thier heart and put a bit of love into it instead of rushing it out there only to have complaints and less than satisfied customers is way beyond me.

Delightful piece of useful art, the 'knob' fits perfectly into my palm
Prompt delivery. Delightful piece of useful art, the 'knob' fits perfectly into my palm, (no remarks please) It's a good weight and length although I put a ferrule on the end as I found the tip mushrooming and to add to any defense plea that it is just a walking aid and not just a big stick.
