It's pretty, stands up well, but the stream of sand is so miniscule that it's barely visible... unless close up against a plain dark background. Accurate timekeeper, although a bit of sand can stick to the sides and throw it off by 5 seconds or so. If you don't need to see the stream, it's nice.

Other than an egg time, when did you ever see one of these brings back a lot of memories I got the 15 minute one and I’m keeping it on my desk. I’m trying to limit my time that I sit even though I don’t actually pay attention to it but it’s fun to watch. Nicely made and looks nice on the desk. I recommend it.

These are beautiful timers - we use them for our kids and they look nice on the mantel. Keep them out of kids reach tough as the glass shatters into a million pieces if dropped (we know cause it happened). But we love them.

I use it to time myself in the sauna so I don’t cook my body beyond medium rare.

After flipping it over and over again the glass turns yellow from the sand.
