Great alternative to the Kindle Fire
This is a great, inexpensive alternative to my old Kindle Fire Tablet. Unfortunately, the apps for Kindle do not include many that are available from Google Apps. In the past, I had side-loaded the Google App store, but the last Fire Tablet wouldn't allow it. Moving to an Android OS made all the difference. I miss the cordless charging, but otherwise it does more than the Kindle Fire, for essentially the same price. There are some features that are harder to find, like the drop down Android menu (top right, instead of top center), but all minor stuff. As far as I can tell, all Android and Amazon apps work on it. It is cheaper elsewhere, but I like Amazon's service so didn't mind paying a few extra $s.

Great little tablet for reading!
I needed a very basic tablet for power reading PDFs, news sites, Kindle/ePub books, and other docs. I need to have reference materials handy and portable for work and school. Easier to read than a phone, , fits in my purse/daybag. And I specifically did not want a device I could "play with" or get lost in too much. I have other devices for that. Youtube, instructional, or educational videos are great, but I probably wouldn't watch a movie or other media unless this was my only device. TTS (text to speech) is perfect when I want to read and listen simultaneously. PDF and Word Doc loading has lag but otherwise I'm very happy with this. Simple games run fine, but that's not my need, I haven't tried anything to really test RAM or processing speed. I added an SD card, downloaded my libraries, and now I have everything I need at all times. For a straightforward, budget friendly tablet, especially for readers, you can't go wrong with this.

Mixed feelings. Low resolution and poor video playback
Jan'26 update: Since July I received 2 or 3 service patches. Tablet speed decreasing with each update, even after turning off new 'battery saver' feature. Feels like Lenovo is telling me my time is nearly up. # # # Bought this to replace a 6-yo Samsung Galaxy Tab. The good: - I trust the Lenovo brand. - I like that I can easily hold in one hand. - I like that there's no bloatware preinstalled. - Very good for email, reading e-books, browsing web. Needs improvement: - Feels a little heavy given the size. - Struggles to play YouTube videos clearly. - Noticeable jagged edges on fonts. - Daily Duraboost? (CPU throttling) notification, even though all notifications turned off - Intermittent adaptive screen brightness, even though no setting

Lenovo tablet
I loved that i can use it as a phone if i choose to. The screen is clear & easy to read what you type or read. 8 inch is the right size to use as a gps that's what I'm planning on using it for since my phone gps don't always work.

Meh
Slow and finicky. The drop down settings is hard to access - it keeps pulling down empty notifications and not the settings. I only got it because I couldn't download Paramount Plus shows to my fire tablet. But although the price was identical, the quality is not even close to the same. Size was half and so is the speed. It is sluggish turning on. Not in love.
