Works easily
I have a seat cane and a pin keeps coming loose. The cane is 5 yrs old and other than that, works great, but I donโt want it falling apart and me ending up on the ground. It is aluminum so it canโt be welded. I put the Blue Magic liquid steel on the end and it works great. A new cane would have cost over $120 and the new ones are not as comfortable. I tried and sent it back, then tried Blue Magic and Iโm SAFELY back in business.

The Product failed within 40 miles
Working on engines for the past 30 years, I've tried many products like Blue Magic 18003 Quicksteel HT, I was hoping the maybe there had been some improvements now that we"re in the 21st century, NOPE. Used this product on a minor exhaust manifold crack. Unlike the Youtube video, my batch did not mix up into a smooth self leveling paste, no matter how hard I tried. Wire wheeled the manifold to clean iron, than scuffed it up a bit to improve grip. applied at 83 degrees and let sit for 3 hours, the product passed the thumb nail test, I let the product cure for 36 hours, at which time i brought the engine up to operating temperature. Drove 40 miles and inspected the repair, While a thin layer/stain remained on the repaired area, the product completely crumbled like a stale chocolate chip cookie and exhibited no integral strength, what remained had the consistence of hard gray chalk. I was able to chip and gouge the resulting residue with a screwdriver and it came off like powder (hard chalk) How anyone could successfully drill into this product is beyond me. Bad Batch, Old product,Quality control, who knows? Bottom line, this product did not live up to its claims.ON THE PLUS SIDE, IT WAS EASY TO REMOVE FROM THE UN-REPAIRED AREA. I would be happy to here from Blue Magic concerning my experience with this product...

EASY TO USE AND DOES WORK ON EXHAUST MANIFOLDS.. "PLEASE READ FULLY HOW I DID IT ON MY V10 FORD MOTORHOME"
GREAT ITEM, I HAD AN EXHAUST LEAK ON MY NEWMAR MOTORHOME WITH THE BIG V10 ENGINE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THE EXHAUST GASKET WAS MISSING AT THE TOP CORNERS AT BOTH ENDS, INSTEAD OF MESSING WITH BREAKING OFF EXHAUST BOLTS LIKE ON ANY ENGINE, I JUST TOOK MY DREMEL TOOL WITH A WIRE BRUSH ATTACHMENT CLEANED IT ALL UP AND THEN TOOK MY AIR COMPRESSOR AND BLEW AWAY ANY RESIDUE FROM THE CLEANING OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD THEN I OPENED UP THE QUICKSTEEL PRODUCT AND STIRRED UP THE CONTENTS WITH A SCREW DRIVER, THEN APPLIED IT TO THE AREAS MISSING THE EXHAUST GASKET, THEN LET IT DRY FULL OVER NIGHT THEN THE NEXT MORING I STARTED UP THE ENGINE ANS "WOW" LIKE BRAND NEW SOUND NO LEAKS WHAT SO EVER!! EASY TO APPLY THE WHOLE JOB TOOK ME UNDER 30 MINUTES TO GET IT ALL CLEANED AND APPLIED.. VERY EASY TO WORK WITH.. AMAZNG PRODUCT.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANY ONE WHO HAS A SIMILAR SITUATION LIKE MINE THE STUFF REALLY WORKS....

You need to use all of it at one time:(
The product performs as stated. However, you will need to use all of it at one time because it starts to harden as soon as the lid is removed. Don't expect to use a little and then return a couple days or weeks later and use it again. It will be hard in the container and not usable. I opened mine and used just enough to run a trial test before committing to using it on my main issue. It passed my testing but was rock solid when I went back about a week later to make the actual repair. It was stored in doors in a climate-controlled, so I'm not sure why it hardened so quickly. They should label it as needing to be vacuum sealed after opening for later use.

Works well if done properly.
I used this to repair a cracked exhaust manifold on a Geo Tracker. This stuff works great as long as the metal is prepped properly. I used a die grinder to remove all of the rust and make a rough surface on the metal. I drilled both ends of the crack with a 1/16" bit to keep the crack from spreading. Then I used a cutoff wheel to cut about a 1/16" groove along the crack for the epoxy to hold on to. I applied a thin layer about 1-1/2" wide and waited 24 hours. Then applied a heavy 2nd layer and waited another 24 hours. After putting the manifold back on I let the engine run for 5 minutes to heat it up and then let it cool. For about the 1st hour of driving I got a faint epoxy smell whenever I would stop but after that it was fine. So far it has held up great. I think most people make the mistake of using a wire brush to clean the rust off. But on castings a wire brush sort of polishes it and the epoxy won't stick to a slick surface.

Works great, leftovers can be reused.
Used it to repair a crack in exhaust header. After a month it is holding up. The product is a liquid and a gritty powder that will need to be mixed. It spreads like peanut butter and can be smoothed. Make sure you properly prep the area, which I did, but as a test i smoothed it onto an area that was not and it kinda flaked off. It cures with heat, so I recommend using a heat gun after application just to get the curing process going. I discovered the left over product did not harden in the container after a week...just don't store it in a hot place I suppose. I merely re-mixed the product and used it again to repair a cracked hinge on my grill.

Excellent product!
I've used this stuff twice now to fix 2 manifold cracks: 1 on my 2008 Caravan and once on my motorhomes 7.5L Ford engine. Over a year has passed and both are still quiet. It's important to follow the directions and this stuff works great!
