Excellent app and really smooth touchscreen!!!
I just got mine yesterday, and as I was opening it I noticed the packaging was a little bit damaged, but none of the contents were. The app requires you to make an account online before you can use a fitness tracker, but once you do it, it’s really easy to set up. I would say probably the best things about this watch is the super comfortable silicone band, which makes it really easy to sleep it, unlike other fitness trackers I’ve used. Secondly, the touchscreen is very smooth and not glitchy. The interface itself works just as well as an Apple Watch. The design is sleek, and appropriate sized. In the app you can adjust how you want your notifications, and can apply all your contacts, so that’s a plus. Anyways, 🫵 get this watch. You’ll love it

Its a nice band and a nice improvement from an older band
I had the same band but an older 4 model. It was tough as nails but it popped out of the bracelet and I lost it after using for several years. 8 model doesn't pop into a bracelet like older model. This new one also has a much nicer display but is mostly the same. Charge time is quick and it lasts for days too. No complaints if it too lasts for years like the last one!

Band pin broke, etc. Died! Finally got it replaced
After a few months the pin on the band fell off (I assume as it is missing now)... seems silly that it is not glued onto the band. The only way to contact Xiaomi is via social media... thats terrible. I assume it would be covered under warranty. They should have a form on the website or email. I messaged them in FaceBook but no reply. I also notice that when showering the band starts a feature for some reason. No sure if it water hitting it or.... Contacted them on Facebook and they sent me to xiaomi usa...I sent them a message and they have an automated response to contact mi on Facebook. But that link goes to a missing website page with a message on top that days contact them on social media. How ridiculous. It's a loop.. And no support! Then I find an email for them and we write back and forth. They want the S/N that I supply but then say to contact the reseller here. I ask Amazon for the contact process, fill it out and this vendor does NOT reply. Talked to Amazon and they sent me link here and I sent note to HFC seller here and NO RESPONSE! --updated July 2025 Band turned OFF when it still had 50% charge. Could not get it on. Reddit says to put in freezer to deplete battery.. i did 48 hours.. then let it rest room temp. and tried to charge... it started to charge but not get Error about too hot to charge or wear even though it feels fine. I think the quality has gone down on these... I contacted Xiaomi after searching for an email address online. They replied to send them the serial number from the box (I do not have) or the back of the band. I did photo the back of the band but the serial number was not presentable and they did not accept it. I then found out online you can get the number from the Settings so while theband was operating for 1 minute i captured the serial number, and sent that in. Not sure why they Xiaomi didn't tell me to do that. They then said to contact the seller here for warranty work (this after 5 emails)... ---------------------------------------- Contacted HFC on here and they responded fast and replaced the it very fast. High rating for HFC.. just hope the band last longer than the 1 year on prior band. -- band did not last. White face and it's going crazy. Time to switch to another brand. Junk!

cheap and cheerful
I have a problem - I either lose or break my expensive watches with my active lifestyle. Therefore, with the advent of the first models of this brand, they became a worthy replacement for a regular watch, which is also not so painful to damage or lose. In this generation, the advantages for me were automatic brightness, which allows you to easily see information in sunny weather, quite convenient control of music on the phone, and the flashlight function turned out to be unexpectedly convenient. There are also disadvantages - in the shower, the madness of the touch screen begins, although this is a disadvantage of any such device. But the disadvantage of this particular one is that twice the data of my two-hour swims simply disappeared from memory before synchronization with the phone. And the swimming style is also determined incorrectly. I can still recommend this product and will wait for the next model at the same price, but with work on the bugs

Love this smart band, my favorite so far
I've had this band for over a year now. The first year it worked perfectly, then it lost battery life very quickly, but overall I love it.

Survived long enough for Murphy's law to take effect
Had this one for a long while, did its job forever until the band I bought for it got caught on my backpack and launched it at the pavement at mach [redacted]. Ended up buying the new model, which at time of writing is the band 10. Same price as this thing was when I bought it, same important functions.

Band 8 device is Great! Mi Fitness app is awful. No Support from Xiaomi. Used Notify App instead.
Amazon please don't censor my honest review. It does not contain Profanity, Harassment, Hate speech, Sexual content, Illegal activity, nor Private information! And since you completely deleted it ,while asking me to edit it, I cannot show that it was a valid criticism. The start of my original review with additional experience: [I have to say I am Not impressed with this overall. the Device itself is okay and supposed to work with the app but the app is close to useless , and the band is a bit uncomfortable and difficult to secure. Based on all the things it's supposed to...] The 3 included images show 1. the version of the Mi Fitness app being used, 2. a screenshot showing NO DATA for the heart rate, even though it is set to measure every 15 minutes 3. a screen shot showing how none of the functions have recorded anything, with the exception of sleep and, because I covered the actual sleep amount with a sticker so it is not showing "private data" , I can TELL you that in a 8 hour sleep period, it only recorded it as a short 1 hour nap. The Mi Fitness App is the reason I was very close to returning the item for a refund. The Xiaomi Band 8 device itself works as advertised, it is very easy to see, simple to navigate and does the job of monitoring as programmed. A simple swipe left or right shows me the widgets I chose to be on top. I can link to my phone for weather information, and can easily start a heart rate reading with only a tap, swipe, and a tap. Super Easy. If I take the band off, I can see when the little lights come on to try to read my heart rate regularly. The only complaint I have with the device is the default band must be so tight to get accurate readings and holds moisture so my skin is moist and compressed below the band. Nothing that switching to the other arm periodically doesn't fix. Each day I wear it on the opposite arm and that helps with comfort. Also like the feature that it will ring my phone if I misplace it and vice versa for the band so long as they are linked with Bluetooth. My Biggest complain is with the recommended software application that is supposed to transfer the data from the watch to the phone. I've spent a week and a half trying to get the Mi Fitness app to behave as it is described to and have failed over and over to find a satisfactory solution to the lack of functionality. I have tried calling Xiaomi but the phone recording just says it's not working. I've tried going to the website, but it has only the most generic explanations. I've tried reaching out by Facebook, as suggested on their website to do, and started a chat that gave one reply and then nothing else. I've even looked at their youtube videos which don't have much information. There is no tech support or anyway to get in touch with a real person. I even checked out their twitter feed, which has lots of neat things to try but that doesn't help me if I cannot get the data from the watch to the phone in the first place. I tried Reddit for suggestions and lots of people helped but No matter how many times I reset bluetooth, re-synced, re-paired, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled the Mi fitness app, it was showing none of the data the Mi band 8 was collecting. It kept unchecking features I turned on. The App showed only 2 out of 7 days of sleep, only a few heart rate reading when set to record at intervals throughout the day. I can see all the readings on the watch itself, and it's really cool, but its useless if I cannot get the information off the watch so that it can be documented. The very reason I got the watch was to make documenting my health markers easier. The UPSIDE to all this struggle is that I've been directed by other Band users to try a different app called Notify for Xiaomi. I was hesitant to try an app not made by the manufacturer, but after complete lack of support for the device and so much frustration, I relented and tried it. It is like night and day, and it is working much better than the Mi Fitness app ever was. I get a line chart of my heart rate with several points of data instead of just a min/max/average bar for the entire day. On Mi Fitness I had to go to a buried menu to see my readings and I noticed that all the readings had the same timestamp instead of every 5 minutes like I asked. The Notify app puts it all front and center. The past two days I tried using the Mi App, it recorded No Sleep, None of my Steps, and my heart rate only when I manually pressed it. I gave up and uninstalled it. I only didn't return it because of the Hurricane that blew through. During the Hurricane days, I played with the Notify app. With the Notify App, I can also see my sleep data with all the details it recorded, My steps, and even my oxygen levels. I can finally Breathe Easier knowing I finally can use the cool fitness watch I just purchased. I have decided I'm going to keep the Xiomi Band 8 because I can now finally see the same benefit that others have experienced , just by choosing a different monitoring app. Thanks to everyone on Reddit for guiding me to a solution.

It is amazing!!
Well, what can I say? I've loved the Xiaomi Mi Band since I bought my first one. I bought this one and I loved it, just as expected. The battery life is amazing, and I use it every day in the gym to count the break time between exercises. The size is also good; I prefer the smaller one over the larger one, so the size is perfect for me. It's discreet and doesn't bother me on my arm. Oh, I also bought the screen protector, and I think it's very useful :)

I love my Band 8
I have no doubt this device can do a million more things than I will ever use it for and I can't comment on those. All I really needed this for was the fun of counting my steps - it does this so much better than my band 6 did. Telling me the time, entertaining me with info about how many calories I have used and the general info about the doings of my fairly inactive day. I have the choice of many watch faces, so one can choose one that really suits ones personality. The straps are detachable and one has other options of how to wear it other than on one's wrist - which might one day be a real perk to me. Best of all, and the bit I feared the most being not very Techi at all, it was an absolute synch to set up on the app on my phone. What a relief!! It is indeed a marvellous bit of kit and I am really enjoying it!

Absolutely Love it - hits all the points
I tried the 300$ Oura Ring and then the 2 year subscription for the Whoop band - BUT they didn't meet my requirement. I was looking for a small device (ideally screenless) for tracking footsteps, vibrating alarm and with mobile call vibration. the Mi Smart Band hits all the needed features. it has a screen but it doesn't come on all the time. Plus the iphone app is decent enough. Oura and Whoop focus TOO much on Sleep and activities. the Mi Band has the needed activities for me. For the price and value it provided, it was a Fabulous buy.

Perfetto

Very nice
A really good band with such good quality. Vivid screen resolution. Arrived in no time. A very respective merchant. I returned it only because it does not support Arabic language in any messaging app. as this is the chinese version and not the global one.
