Defective? Bad drivers? It didn’t work!
I had high hopes for this card especially after reading the reviews. It turned out to be very disappointing. I purchased it for my OPNsense firewall and it was ok to get the drivers installed and was easily recognized. However, I don’t even know what it does, but the firewall’s console throws some errors regarding this NIC and after ~5 the console floods with output text that you can’t see because it flashes so fast and the computer reboots. This happens constantly. Stay away from Realtek products, intel NICs are expensive for a good reason. Another issue (not a big deal) but the standard profile bracket is a bit tall for my giant tower.

Not fancy, just works
Fine for a small office server. Works with 2022 without issues.

Don't, just don't.
I usually love and trust 10Gtek. I've worked in I.T. for over 30 years. I have endless piles of fiber, DAK cables, SFP modules, and other cards/adapters. This one is junk. Just stay away. I reached out to support (for the first time ever) and found it didn't exist. I got spun in circles until I gave up. I can't remember any time other than the 'old days' where you had to adjust IRQ's and Addresses to get nic's to work where I had to spend this much time on one. After hours of google-fu and experience I can only say... junk... just junk. Grab their other products but stay away from this one.

Waste of time
Have had nothing but trouble getting this to run at 2.5Gbps with my OPNSense setup. Don’t bother with it, go with the Intel i226 chip based cards instead.
