Fishtastic!
I have purchased two 20L Deco O Fish Tanks now, one to keep and one as a gift. The first we had no problems with, the second arrived with its contents (stones, filter etc) moving around freely in the tank which had caused damage to the tank itself. No problems getting it replaced so that was a relief. Both tanks I chose are white because I think it looks fresh and increases reflective light within the tank. The image is honest and what you see is what you get, the Deco O round tank, a touch sensitive light unit (fits very neatly in the lid), the pump and filter unit, some white pebbles, some smaller black stones, and a plastic plant. All you have to add is water and fish! We used all the given accessories for our first set up. The filter unit isn't the most attractive thing, but it can be 'disguised', and I liked the way the connecting tube can be very neatly slotted behind little brackets on one side of the tank so you cant even tell its there. I was impressed by the sleek finish and the unique shape for a tank, its very well designed and made. Once full of water it is very weighty, not unbearable but its worthwhile taking the water to the tank rather than carry it full. I don't use chemicals in the water, I fill clean buckets of tap water and let it sit for 48hrs to de chlorinate, and that is all. I live in central Scotland so we have good water and I think this helps. We added our two older larger fantails (who had been living happily in a bagel jar for 2 years) and two tiny new fantails and they have thrived in here. Personally I wouldn't add more than that for fear of them being over crowded, they look small at first but grow steadily. I feed them a couple of pinches of micro pellet food, just enough that they can eat without much falling to the bottom. The tank sits in a bright but not direct light spot which is away from heat sources and I can easily get 3 months between water changes. I clean the tank with a soft sponge and some Ecover washing up liquid and rinse it thoroughly with the shower, I also dismantle and rinse the filter components in hot water until clear. I had noticed with our first water change when cleaning the black stones that the colour was coming off, they must be painted. I removed them and replaced then with a self coloured aquarium gravel instead. I also noticed that on one tank the pump was very quiet and on the other very noisy. It was remedied by packing out the cavity within the pump casing with some padding. I don't use the touch sensitive lights very often, it sits on 'moonlight' most of the time, but 'sunlight' is bright and makes an amazing feature of the tank when days are dull or we have guests. The gentle bubbling of the water is nice to listen to and watch, although is probably more suited to a living area than a bedroom as it can be a bit loud when the filter is very clean. The fish love chasing the bits of food that get caught in the bubbles and lifted to the surface. I actually love this tank and that saying something, I'm contemplating another for myself and maybe the larger size, I think its money well spend and at a fraction of the cost of other brands. Considering it has cost me very little in time, effort, and money it gets a full 5 stars *****.

Really pleased!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased the 20 litre tank after much debate do I go for the 10 will the 20 be to big but so glad I went the 20 it’s not massive and it fits on my coffee table which is only small but fits perfectly. (The little square nest tables) Very easy to set up but do have to take it all out to clean! Which takes about an hour in total every two weeks. My first tank did have a slow leak in the bottom but the company were very good kind and helpful and sent out a replacement which has been fine since. It is good value for money and is a good size as you can see for the fish I have in there and if you’re looking for a first rank as this was mine it’s a good starting place. They are very happy and have had the tank for some time now I have learnt how to look after my fish and how to clean the tank. The night light is lovely and relaxing and the top two on off is great (sometimes gets funny to respond but take out lid clean light remove screws etc and place back in and touch sensors works again no prob) only niggle really is as others say the little black filter is quite loud but once the tv is on can’t hear it and do get use to the sound. So not horrendous and certainly wouldn’t put me off buying if that’s what your thinking about.I have brought replacements filters for it and they were easy to purchase (cheaper on eBay) and to fit.I do have to tape the pipes and lead at the back in place so it doesn’t come away and show but again not a big issue. Over all a lovely looking tank and great value for money from a great company purchased from.

Again noisy pump, but.....
The tank is well built and looks stylish, buuuuut, like other reviews I do agree the pump is loud, in fact it sounds like an oral b electric toothbrush. Its fine to listen to that for 2 minutes while you brush your teeth, but to have on any longer is really annoying. Why have I given it 4 stars then, simple I got in touch with the manufacturer about the problem and they sent out a new, much quieter pump, within a week of my complaint. So now I am completely happy with it. I have only given it a 4 though as they said that they know there is a problem with the pump, even though they replaced it, it should have been sorted long ago. I hope that newer batches have the quieter pump now.

I love it. The pump is rather ugly though so ...
I bought this tidy little fish tank almost a year ago. I love it. The pump is rather ugly though so the larger stones that come with it, I place on top. The gravel is fine, but I would personally recommend a dark colour as white shows up any mess or algae growth more. The plastic plant that came with it went straight in the bin so I can't comment on that.I went with a minimalist approach to this tank, with only the filter, the included stones and a piece of bogwood with a Java attached to it. Looks fantastic and I always get comments when people come round for the first time and they see it.The lights can never be switched off unless you unplug the cable (not hard to do - if you really want to do it) the but the moonlight setting is dim enough. The white light is really bright and really makes the tank stand out.All I can do is recommend this tank for anyone looking for a small aquarium.I also HAVE to point out that this is a small tank and I personally would never buy any smaller. In mine I only keep a Betta (Siamese Fighter Fish) on his own and he seems to like it in there. I'm also planning to add some shrimp too in the future with a few more ornaments, and I think the tank will be fine (Shrimp have a very low bio-load) and my fighter is very small (I believe his growth was stunted before I bought him).If you do buy this tank (or any tank) remember the rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon or 10 shrimp per gallon. This 20L tank works out about 4.3 gallons so don't put anything more in there than the tank can handle. A few guppies, a fighter fish or a shrimp colony. Anything more would be cruel. Remember that the less space your fish have, the more it will effect their happiness.
