I want to inject poison into ant mounds and into the large cracks in sidewalks to kill ants, will this do it?

I live in the southern US and prefer spectracide. Works best for me after I've run the mound over with the mower, but works otherwise. Just use enough so that they can't exit the mound without stepping on it.  I don't think I've ever noticed liquid ant poison. Around here the ants that come up from the sidewalks are harmless, the ones that bite make mounds above ground. I know, ya didn't ask that part.

The needles on this are large. Should fit between your sidewalk cracks, if they're the cracks made by putting slabs next to each other. Surface cracks not so much. Also, if you're going to insist on using a good Cajun injector other than it's purpose, please mark it well so people in your life can't make a mistake. People like me utilize this for seasoning turkey, for instance. It should work though. Has numerous parts, so maybe run some water through it after assembly to make sure you have no leaks before sucking up the poison.

What is the thread size of the needles?

You'd have to use a thread gauge, however I would suggest you use a 2oz unless you're injecting a large piece of meat. 4 oz is a bit cumbersome for turkeys etc...

Is the opening 5/8 without the needle? I need to make Molds with an injector and the opening needs to be 5/8 without any needles connected.

Accepted Answer

No. The maximum opening after the threads is just shy of 1/2".  The Inside Diameter opening of the threaded portion is only 3/8".
