UPDATE AFTER AN YEAR OF USE: ************************************************ THE PREVIEW: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Needed a glass cleaner for my skoda rapid as I could often notice some stubborn to go tree saps,stains or bird droppings every now and then. To add to further plight Cleaning the car was easier but cleaning the glass always left smears & smudges around which was way too annoying to witness & get rid of. ABOUT THE PRODUCT: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Surfed the net for a decent glass cleaner & found the options very limited online so with the high reputation of the brand 3M decided to go with this. My observations with the product after 1 year of use are: @ Comes in a 200 ml plastic bottle with a spray/stream/off mechanism already built to it & a blue liquid inside. From the looks of it closely resembles household collin spray.The cap is sealed via a hologram sticker. @ The spray has 2-Butoxyethanol, an alcoholic compound which by virtue has cleaning properties & hence it has a high repulsive & pungent smell . In my opinion it is better to clean the glasses with doors open or it will become suffocating for the dwellers inside. CAUTION: However, it bears a warning over the pack to stay away from directly inhaling or even getting into physical contact with the solution especially skin and eyes. Might be irritating over skin, for some people. Also keep out of the reach of kids and does not spray onto fire directly or it may catch fire. **Haven’t used any other cleaner yet, so can’t exactly comment upon the smell of others. @ The cleaner cleans well all the stains, fingerprint marks, tree sap & grime easily as is expected from an alcohol based compound. Use of a clean wax free cloth is a must to obtain a streak-free finish over the glass. @ The product is safe for other materials too like metals or plastic parts so it can be used without the worry to spoil other vehicle body parts. @ The spray mechanism has a variable setting for delivery at stream, spray & OFF knob positions. The spray mechanism even after an year is still working good so it can be concluded that it is quite reliable. @ The product has a shelf life of 12 months only, probably the alcohol compound inside would dissociate and deviate from expected performance by that time. VERDICT: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx All in all, apart from its pungent smell probably due to presence of native alcoholic compounds, I found the performance of the cleaner quite ok & for a price tag of 200 bucks for 250 mL, In my opinion its worth a try as if used with spray setting it can surely last an year easily with a weekly use. So finally with the very limited options for vehicle glass cleaner online,i suppose 3M brand product is a safe bet.
