Amazing book showing real fashions that inspired the designers of Mattel. No doubt all those years ago when Barbie was introduced to the world, they had no idea that she would be collected by adults and not just a toy for little girls to enjoy the amazing fashions.

I liked this book a lot. There are loads of Barbie books out there and I thought this was a great idea. It is a good size book and I really liked the retro pics in it. I wish it had more from the 60's, especially the Mod looks, as this is the area I am interested in.

I have had this for weeks but now finally have time to cuddle up with this wonderful book!! Part gorgeous coffee table pictorial, part historical journey through four+ decades of iconic fashion, and part indulgent pop pleasure, “Barbie takes the Catwalk’ is as good as it gets. Sometimes Barbie is featured wearing an exact mini replica, side by side with the designer original, but more often she and her human model counterparts form part of a fashion collective, sharing features, elements, and trend. This curation feat showcases the expert eye and impeccable taste of the amazing costume historian Karan Kaufman Feder. The book is large, glossy and incredibly high quality. The one in the front of the picture is for me; the one in the back is a gift for a lucky tbd friend. Pro tip: there’s still time to get one for your favorite Barbie, fashion, or just beautiful-book fan !!!
