SEO Like I'm 5: The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Search Engine Optimization Review: SEO Like I'm 5 Provides Clarity and Empowers Action - As a business marketing professional, I've read lots of SEO books and when I discovered SEO Like I'm 5, I thought, "not another theoretical SEO book!" But this book really delivers clear and actionable content. Furthermore, there are personal examples and herds of helpful links to free and reasonable resources. I tried a few of Matthew's tips after reading just a few chapters and watched my AdSense revenue grow, almost overnight. Simple tips like how to find keyword search terms using Google's search bar have improved web hits and increased customer engagement. His tips have helped me look like a rockstar when showing clients my companies capabilities; providing easily accessible and tangible value. Since completing, SEO Like I'm 5, I continue to reference this book as a resource for creating blog posts and my follower engagement continues to grow. This book paid for itself in the first week. Review: value for $2.99 - I think I would've been happy paying up to 5 bucks for this in kindle and up to 8 - 9 bucks in print. The content is good, but a tad light. Lots of tools referenced. I wish more authors and bloggers would just list the tools they use rather than the, "47 tools to....", but I might be in the minority on that one. Matthew does a good job of linking other sources and thought leaders. I think I might be frustrated if I was reading a print copy because of all the linking, but in kindle it's fine. He is an Altucher fan, and that makes me a fan of his. What the book does lack is in depth examples. There are plenty of cursory examples, but nothing that puts the whole recipe together to show you how to bake your cake. For $3 it's money well spent.

'Seo like i'm 5' interesting, fun, informative to read
usually I'm very selective with books in this section. But 'Seo like i'm 5' is a book that i would recommend people like me to read. its very interesting and informative. The book talks about whats marketing in 2014 looks like and how it is different in this era. There are examples and most importantly you have industry professionals sharing their view points as well. though it says for beginners but i would say this is a good tool for all including the pros. SEO is no more the next big thing, it is the big thing now. All brands need to embrace seo and that is exactly what this book emphasizes upon. Also it sheds the misconception about SEO and throws light on how it is a part of every marketing activity that you may involve in. Overall a must read for all marketing professionals.

Alot of broken links in the book. The majority of info is still relevant.
I recommend buying an updated version unless you just need to know the basics of SEO and to use this as a good reference to back to.

THE ONLY BOOK YOU WILL EVER NEED TO LEARN ABOUT SEO
This is the only book anyone eager to learn about SEO needs. Not only the book is filled with tons of tools that will make it extremely practical to understand how search optimization works but also be the best search optimizer. The author, Matthew Capala, could not have done the best job by writing a complex subject in a manner in which anyone, no matter their lever of expertise, can truly understand and be able to immediately apply the unsurmountable amount of tips provided. In addition, I like how his approach is about the self and finding ways to brand yourself in order to be a "self-trepeneur" . This book should be a staple on every entrepreneur, students, marketers, businesses shelves. Kudos to Matthew for writing a book about a complex and providing us with a well needed wealth of information.

Good information with some technical difficulties
Capala does a breathing of compiling various SEO advice into a coherent and easy to read format. However, technical issues such as regular typos, formatting errors in headings, and over-compression of images (many of which contain the information he is trying to convey, but can't be read) keep this book from reaching the accolade that I wish I could give it. I would have awarded it a 3.5 but Amazon doesn't allow for that. Nevertheless, if SEO is a primary concern to you right now I would recommend picking up this book.

Awesome Content and Great Foundation
I am very new to Search Engine Optimization, and this book is what I needed to build my foundation. Matthew Capala emphasizes that improving your site ranking is an organic process and is more a byproduct of creating valuable content and making real connections online rather than resorting to trickery for quick gains. In addition to providing tips about crafting good content, the author suggests many tools and sites to help you build your reputation online. He stresses the importance of Content, Code, Credibility & Connections. All of this will come in handy for my own personal use and for the work that I do as a volunteer with a non-profit organization. I am very pleased with this book and would gladly recommend it to anyone who has even a passing interest in the subject.

A Great Book for SEO and Digital Marketing
A great book for SEO and digital marketing. We used it as part of reading materials in Search Marketing class at NYU. It gives me a clear mind of what really matters for search engines. And based on that, it provides some practical tactics that were proven effective. The Google algorithm is ever changing. But the core value given here won't fade. It's super easy to read. I actually had fun reading it. It also reveals the dynamic between search and social. My favorite quote is "Trust is the number one social media currency." So many brands are doing it in the wrong way. This book changed my views of social branding. I highly recommend this book to marketing professionals, startup owners, or anyone who wants to learn about SEO and digital marketing.
