This is a versatile addition to have access to slide action when you want to add it in your playing. The other reviews say that it takes some learning to utilize it, and I have to agree, but the fact that you dony have to physically slide it onto your finger to use it and can have it readilly available when ypu want without pausing to put it on and can develop technics to smoothly include it when you wish without pausing will make some players develop styles that wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the compact design of this slide. You do have to practice using it a lot to get accuracy developed, as it doesn't cover a lot of string surface, but I'm thinking that it will be a welcome addition to players arsenal once it's application is mastered. I am a long ways from that, but I'm going to keep practicing until I do and it will provide me with the benefit of adding it when I want and create some unique guitar solos. It also looks good enough to wear with it's luster and mass. It will get some attention. I would've gave it 5 stars if I was already used to using it to the fullest potential. That's my only reason I gave it 4.

My son is a way-0better-than-average guitar player who has been expanding his repertoire into slide. This ring, he informs me, is great, because it enables him to play slide and (not) slide in the same rif. Cute gadget and well made

I really wanted to like this slide. It goes on easy, stays put, and allows you to use all your fingers just like they say. However, I found it too narrow for my use. Granted, I'm not much of a slide player. However, I played worse when trying to use this slide ring. I had trouble getting a good sound on a single string and had a heck of a time getting two strings to play well. I went back to my regular old glass slide and sounded so much better. This is a well crafted product. For someone that's more advanced in the art of slide guitar, it will probably work great for you. It just wasn't the right thing for me.

When ordering, please read the sizing chart very carefully. I bought this for my ring finger and using the standard ring size. However, the spring seemed to not hold enough pressure, and it would move around. When I asked support if they had anything that could tighten the springs, they informed me that it was meant to be placed on the middle finger. When I tried to add it to my middle finger, it fit much better, but the width was just a bit too wide for me to really use that finger and bend it for playing (when not using the slide). Additionally, I lost 115 pounds since I bought the slide. So now I have to go back and repurchase the smaller size. Well worth the investment. However, it works, and it works great. I love the sound. You do not get the full bar slide sound, but it is not designed for that. You really get to concentrate on specific strings to emphasize the slide with full accompanying sounds. My only suggestion are: Please change the sizing from "small fingers, regular fingers, large fingers" into something more specific. My fingers are small compared to my father, but regular compared to my friends. So it was a toss-up of what size to actually order. Also, for the smaller size, if you could take a millimeter off the width to help the fingers bend, that would be awesome.

This is a great slide for little touches and phrases of slide without keeping your fingers from normal lead guitar riffs and licks.

To be honest I want to like this product. I have been playing a long time and I think that it is a great idea. I also think that it is well made and can sound great. But it is a different type of slide than I have ever played with. It takes some getting used to. I gave it 5 stars because it is well made and exactly what is claimed. I will need more time to master its use.

Blackmountain slide ring is very comfortable to wear. Sometimes i forget that i’m wearing it. Makes sliding on guitar fun n very easy. Just a great product that dosn’t move around on your finger while sliding or while your playing chords.

Super quality piece. I returned it because I thought the learning curve would be too much for me. I’ve played guitar literally forever and I just didn’t feel like learning a new trick.

Great accessory for any guitar player. Fits comfortably and the spring latch keeps it in place on your finger. I bought this because a full bottle neck/tube slide was impractical for my play style and losing a finger tip for chords and other fretting tasks. Now I can play chords, solo and slide with ease by simple moving my finger position. There is a caveat; you can only slide two strings at a time but that is fine with me as I don't use open tunings for full tube slides and I'm not Derek Trucks. Takes some time to get skillful with the ring, so I would wear it while playing guitar without any slide parts. After a few weeks of this you'll miss it when it's not on. I love this ring slide. Highly recommended!
