Great couche, perfect size for handling at home. Never used one before until today. I bought this because of the material it’s made from, and also because it comes with a dough scraper, which I didn’t have. It is wider than a standard sheet pan, which is great because it keeps the dough from touching the pan sides while it proofs, and of course it is longer than the standard sheet pan; I only made three baguettes and was able to fold the remainder of the couche over the loaves while they finished proofing. Was easy to fold up into sections for each loaf. Dusted it with flour, was easy to remove baguettes. After transferring them to baguette pan, took the couche outside to shake off the excess flour. Will brush it with a dry vegetable brush in a bit. Very happy with this! It’s nice to have this committed cloth for proofing rather than cycling through tea towels. Also, the dough scraper is great, and I really love and appreciate that it is a part of this product package. It is sturdy, with nice sharp edges, but flexible enough to curve easily with some pressure so that the bowl can be scraped out very easily. Also the straight edge was a great help in scraping the counter to clean up. 100% recommend this item! I didn’t take a pic of the baguettes proofing in the couche but you can see that they shaped really well.

This is a really nice couche. It is large in width and length and holds flour easily. It was easy to flour and easy to fold and kept my bread intact prior to baking. Do not wash the bread couche, keep the natural yeast and try not to get it wet.

The cloth is actually huge, more than enough for a home baker

If you need a bakers couche You can’t go wrong with this product. However, I found that for baking my baguettes it is far easier, just placed the baguette directly into a baguette tray, instead of having to mess with the couche and then transfer the baguette to it a tray for baking

This is a nice sturdy cloth that holds the flour well. I use it to proof loaves and transfer them to a baking stone or cast iron casseroles. It’s also great for rolling out dough. It literally is a game changer, no more fighting with sticky dough. The cloth is a nice stiff unbleached cotton, almost canvas weight. It was clean out of the package and has no odor beyond the natural smell of cotton. It is a pretty large size, definitely big enough for major baking.

I ordered the x-large couche and the size is what I ordered. Not small at all. I am actually annoyed, because I read some reviews that commented it was small, and stupidly, I went a size up. I should have looked at the measurements on the cite. That's on me. The couche is well made and thick enough to separate and hold the dough in place. It came cleanly packed. I opened it, took it outside and shook it off. Didn't notice anything coming off, but why not. I've used it a few times, and I am happy with the product. I also want to note that the x-large was cheaper than other prices for smaller couches I found on Amazon. The price was the ultimate deciding factor. You'd think that the quality would be somewhat less, but it's not. It's made of really good quality and it will serve me well for many years.

It is a good size for proofing baguettes or any types of buns. The fabric is strong and durable.
