Multi-Mount Manual Pencil Sharpener

This sharpener is great for the price. I don't think the single grinder would be ideal for art pencils, but for writing pencils it's fantastic. The mounting suction cup is pretty strong for desktop use. It would certainly hold on a smooth, non - porous wall surface as well, but would not do so indefinitely. For that application the included hard mount bracket and screws are a must, as a fall from the wall onto a very hard surface would likely crack the waste catcher. *** I’ve come back to possibly buy another for home use as this one was for work. Reading some of the reviews makes me weep for the species. 1. There is nothing complicated enough here to require instructions 2. If you allow the pencil to rotate a bit while sharpening, the wood will be removed evenly. 3. No suction cup holds on rough, broken, or porous surfaces. Physics has rules. Disobey them at your own peril. 4. The suction lever can be tough to pull back up. A. Don’t push it all the way to the mounting surface... leave a few mils room to get under it OR B. Use the eraser end of your pencil, start at the pivot point, slide it toward the rubber capped end of the lever. Et voila! The principle of a driven wedge! Physics strikes again! 5. It’s 8 bucks... it’s not priced as a main battle tank, don’t expect it to take shots like one. Try a little finesse, there, Kong!

I love this, I can take this to any table or desk I’m working at, sharpens very well

Doesn't stick to surfaces very long.

Its a good sharpener, but the suction lasts very little. Whenever I tried to keep it in one place and I'd start sharpening the pencil. You had to hold on to make sure it wouldn't fall.

Does it sharpen pencils? Yes. But it is super finicky and the suction breaks every couple pencils. Because of the wobbliness of the sharpener over all, the lead tops break off all the time. Would not recommend this item, instead would go for something that is firmly secured down.

Sharpens like old school sharpener.

Well, aside from the fact that is appears to be cheaply made. It won't stay stuck to the desk as it should. It just uses a stiff wire to make the vacuum by pulling up the bottom. It isn't strong enough to hold the sharpening while a pencil is being sharpened. I purchased it because it was very old school, but so cheaply made that the mount can't possibly work. The actual sharpener seems good, but if the thing won't stay stationary it's impossible to sharpen the pencil. I have to give it two stars and not recommended because of that, and that the sharpening works great, if you can get it to stay on the desk. What good is it if the design doesn't work?

Sharpener ok, but it's not stable using vacuum mount

Excellent sharpener must be on smooth surface for suction to work properly. Textured countertop did not hold well. When used on smoother surface held well. Sharpens pencils to a fine point. Reminds me of the old school sharpeners. Very pleased with purchase
