P110M Smart Plug, Matter Energy Monitoring WiFi Plug

I’ve been using the Tapo P110M for a few weeks to monitor a couple of appliances (a heater and a coffee machine), and it’s been excellent. Setup was quick in the Tapo app, and the plug has stayed connected without random dropouts. What I like ✅ • Energy monitoring is genuinely useful: you can see real-time power draw and track usage over time ⚡📊 • Matter certified makes it easier to integrate with different smart home setups (nice for future-proofing) 👍 • Remote on/off control is fast and reliable in the app 📱 • Works well with Alexa and Google voice control 🗣️ • Away mode is handy for turning lights on/off automatically when you’re not home 🚪✨ • Compact design doesn’t block neighboring sockets (in most outlets) What could be better ⚠️ • Energy data is great, but you’ll still need to spend a little time learning the app graphs if you want detailed tracking • If your wall outlets are very tight or crowded, placement can still be a bit tricky (depends on socket style) Bottom line: A solid smart plug that does more than basic on/off—energy monitoring + Matter support makes it a smart buy for anyone building a reliable smart home setup 🔌⚡ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love Tapo, and in an odd way, I don't know how I ever got by without this plug. I'm using it to turn my air conditioner on and off when I'm not at home so that the master bedroom remains cool without running it constantly (I plan to pair it with a humidity/temperature sensor for greater accuracy). In any case, there are so many applications for these plugs, and they don't just turn your devices on and off (although how cool is that?!). They can keep track of energy usage, and if you add your kWh data, it will give you a full cost breakdown too. You can pair it with a smart switch, create schedules, add timers, and smart actions, and err...did I mention that you can turn them on and off remotely? I do plan to buy more, and I highly recommend both this plug, and the full Tapo range of smart products for that matter. They're really easy to setup, and the app is fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them.

Great TAPO smart plug. We use all TAPO stuff in our house, including the cameras and i find the TAPO products really good quality, easy to setup and simple to use. It gives us a smart home capability that we use across our home. We have these plugs to use for lamps across the house which i have set up to be controlled by both Alexa and by my Apple Home capability - so we can easily just tell the lights to come on by either our Alex devices or on our phones/apple watch, Siri just does the job for me, which is also great for security when away. I also love the fact we can program them so they have a timer so come on at certain times, this can done on a set time, or even use things like x time before or after sunset/sunrise, really nice feature. They are super compatible and work really well for us. We have had them working for months now without fail, so i would say they are super durable and will last a long time.

Works very reliably on my Home Assiatant setup and directly through the Tapo app. Setup was easy and straightforward when connecting to the Tapo servers, but I was unable to connect it to my smart home system through Matter. It was very responsive to commands when controlled through both the app and HA. The power monitoring was incredibly heplful to understand how much power was being used and calculate the cost. I bought it specifically to control Christmas lights, but will probably use it somewhere else in the house for the rest of the year to understand power usage.

Origally bought to turn our Christmas lights on at a certain time we’ve now got several Tapo devices in our home, including cameras and this Tapo P110M smart plug, and they’ve all been fantastic. The plug was very easy to set up and the Tapo app is intuitive and simple to use. We use it mainly for turning lamps on in the morning and it works exactly as expected. The smart plug integrates seamlessly with our other Tapo devices, and scheduling routines in the app makes automating lights effortless. The build quality feels solid, and the compact design doesn’t block the other socket on a standard UK outlet. If you’re already using Tapo products or want a straightforward smart plug that just works, this is a reliable and cost-effective choice.

This review relates exclusively to the Tapo P110M Smart Plug, with Energy Monitoring with MATTER, and not to any other similar TAPO product. I've been using wifi smart plugs as part of my home automation (using the Apple Home app) for several years now, and they have presented me with several problems: HomeKit-certified plugs are very expensive, and whilst many cheaper devices are sold as working with HomeKit, in my experience ANY device that is not HomeKit-certified will from time - and unpredictably! - go into the dreaded "not responding mode", which can be very disruptive, and can last from a few minutes to several days (in one case, 2 weeks!)!. I have used smart plugs from a range of manufacturers, including Tapo, all claiming to "work with HomeKit", and they have been a disaster. Many need the manufacturer's app to be installed in order to work at all (which I'm not prepared to do, for personal privacy reasons - too many of these apps send far too much information about you back to China or wherever) or must be connected via HomeBridge, but every non-certified smart plug I have used, without exception, has gone unresponsive at some time or another - usually at the most inconvenient moment! These P110M units are the first I have found that are just rock-solid reliable, and seem to have got around the HomeKit compatibility issue by their use of Matter. I have over the past few months replaced all my old smart plugs (about a dozen of them) with these P110M units, and have eliminated all my "not responding" problems. As well as all that, this unit is very compact compared to most other smart switches on the market, and works with Apple Home out of the box - there is no need to install any other software to make them work! - and for me these devices are as near perfect as I have been able to find - and at about £10 each are an absolute steal!

Used for monitoring energy consumption of chest freezer. So in my case is permanent ON (just in case I set switching ON every day at 00:00hrs). Power/energy monitor refresh rate is low (I believe each 5 minutes). Not sure if is a Tapo app or device limitation. But is recording data and can see the day/week/month trends.

Easy to use Smart Plug. I'm using these to control lights. Lights are set up to come on at a preset time and turn off 1 hour after sunrise. Very simple to set up.
