I loved reading it and feel really inspired to move more firmly into a better way of eating. I find the more books/articles I read the higher my healthy eating percentage goes up. This book has definitely taking me up a notch. Get it and read it now - you won't regret it. If you read it and have a negative response to the advice given, just dip a toe in and make a small change and go from there, The more you educate yourself about nutrition, the more likely you are to change your eating habits and stick to them. Sooo good!!
This book is fantastic either for someone who has already been reading up on ways to heal the body or for those who have yet to read anything on the subject. Brooke's journey is incredibly inspiring. Very useful book for those with lupus.

Good read but small
This is definitely more of an autobiography with some recipes but it is very inspiring and motivating. Having just being diagnosed with Lupus I feel that this book is a good stepping stone to starting the journey and getting in the right mind frame to implement the right steps. I have used some of the recipes and will continue to reread the book when I need any added motivation as to "Why" I am doing this.

Information are not uptodate
You can find free and up to date information regarding Dr G healing protocol online (Facebook and Youtube). Lots of food included in the book are actually not recommended any more. Also, the book is limited to the healing protocol but it doesn`t explain how to adjust and adapt your daily meal plan after the protocol.

Clear concise information
This is a book that explains clearly why you have an autoimmune condition and what you can do about it. Yo do not have to suffer with meds for the rest of your life, here is a detailed program and diet for you to get your health back. Highly recommended. William

Heal your body with raw plant based foods
Enjoyed the book from the beginning to the end. Enough details about her Lupus health problems and treatments. But, not overwhelming. Discovery of a plant based eating habit provides the nutrition needed to produce a remission and, to eventually, result in a complete blood work that didn't indicate any existence of Lupus at all. She's been able to have two children and carry on a busy career without any clinical signs of ever having Lupus. There are other books by Dr. John McDougall and Dr. Caldwell Esseltyne that go into the clinical and academic eating patterns to eliminate all kinds of meat and dairy and they have numerous cook books out. I feel that Dr. Goldner covers what is important to her without having to go into detail on the cooking and preparation of the plant based program. She does give several recipes on what she found important. And, something different from the philosophy of Fork Over Knives is that she explains that someone can benefit from the program without going hard core into the eating restrictions and allowances. She thinks that when someone begins to feel better from what they've tried so far, they might take up the complete plant based program. The Forks over Knives program is strict in compliance because the grant program took critically ill cardiac patients who needed a quick long lasting health program. Dr. Goldner's patients, for the most part, are able to work into the program or go into it immediately. Nutrition is the key to good health for everyone. The Western diet is loaded with fats, processed foods, dairy and cheese, fried foods and nothing that really adds to the bodily needs for solid, out of the ground nutritious raw foods. So practical and easy to understand for everyone. I think it's a wonderful way to start on the program unless you are in need of a quick intervention and can use the strict eating program in conjunction with the medical treatments.

Ik heb niet zoveel opgestoken bij het lezen van dit boek. Ik zocht naar haalbare, duidelijke recepten, maar het gaat vooral over het leven van de Dr. zelf. weinig interessant.

Mit pflanzlicher Ernährung gegen Lupus
Wer das Buch liest, versteht was es mit chronischen Erkrankungen bzw. Autoimmunerkrankungen auf sich hat. Ein gut verständliches und auch emotionales Buch. Es ist so einfach, fitter und vitaler zu werden und die Chance darauf, seine Erkrankung mit pflanzlicher Ernährung in den Griff zu bekommen und evtl. sogar sie zu heilen.
