A good alternative to power up older power hungry laptops.
Delayed response... Sorry... I had to order a 3 1/8 inch hole drill...and work.... Expanded the hole on my desk today and installed this... The desk had a lot of power features but I needed an on desk power source to power an older power hungry HP laptop since the Dell dock could not... I bring this laptop into work daily and pulling out the desk to plug in the laptop power supply was problematic. Once the hole was in place, installation was easy and worked flowlessly... Now this is a 1 day review... Not a longevity review but I hope it last a long time.

Perfect for a table top or desk
I actually added this to my laundry top counter in my condo so I could plug in my iron and steamer as the only outlet was behind the washer and dryer. Worked out perfectly.

Charges as advertised. 3in hole installation possible with some sanding.
CHARGING: USB-C supports 65W charging as advertised with PD 3.0. It also supports most other quick charge protocols except for newer Huawei, Oppo, and OnePlus. I have a Dell Latitude 7300 that supports 60W USB charging that I was able to test with, and it does appear to deliver the power. See included pics. USB-A supports the same with the exception of PD protocol that is exclusive to USB-C. My tester indicates it will do Apple Lightning and Qualcomm QC as advertised. INSTALLATION: I'm a novice with power tools and I don't know how common a 3-1/8th in. hole saw is, but I only have a 3in. and 3-1/2in. The latter seemed to be cutting it pretty close. I didn't want to risk it being loose, so I went with the 3 inch. It was just a touch too small, but with about five minutes worth of sanding away the inside with a metal file I had, it fits nice and snug. OVERALL: I like it! I would recommend this to someone who's looking to clean some clutter on their desk if they are frequently charging devices or need AC power once in a while. Everything is easy access and looks great on the desk. This replaced a USB power strip I had with had AC outlets that were difficult to reach in the back. I'm glad to have outlets and ports that are easy to reach and also tucked away nicely flat on the desk when I'm not using them.

It fits with 3 inch hole saw
There's a lot of discussion about whether this does or does not fit in a 3 inch hole. It measures ever so slightly, like thousands, over 3 in on the outer part of the threads, and just under 3 in on the inner part. Also included in this is a photo of a Diablo 3-in hole saw. You can see that the collar fits over that a little bit, but not completely. The hole that the 3-in hole saw drills is ever so slightly over 3. In. It fit into the hole I drilled with the 3-in hole saw with just a little bit of slop, just enough that I could tilt it side to side. Maybe like 10°. Bottom line, did I need to go buy a 3 1/8 or 3 1/4-in hole saw? No, I did not. Did I sand or file the opening after drilling? No, I did not. Just drilled with 3" hole saw and dropped in.

Hides the wire weed patch bedside.
Very neat. Drilled and mounted into black bookshelf shelf. In the back left corner and all but 100% invisible. With 12” & 18” USB cables creates a nice tablet charging area. Using a book it becomes invisible. Plenty of USB ports for everything. Change your mind a home box store, a replacement shelf and it’s gone.

DO NOT BUY
I ordered four of these. Installed them all. Everyone has the same problem, and its a pain in the butt. The problem is they DO NOT CHARGE your device unless you unplug the cord to it (while your device is plugged in) and then plug it back into the charging unit. In other words, you know how if you plug your phone into a charger or cord and expect it to turn on, nope, it wont on the USB outlets they have. It was cheaper than the others, so I bought it. Frankly I havent tested all features of all of them yet, but the USB on all of them do not function properly

Measure well
Be sure to measure carefully with this. I picked it up to put in place of a cup holder on my theater sofa and it fits, but not in the way I'd hoped. The ring lock has to be on to keep it from falling through and is not quite wide enough to mount it. As for power delivery, it is amazing! Capable of fast charging multiple devices at the same time.
