Perfect for beginners

Got this for my niece who’s gotten really into drawing her favorite manga characters, as well as some OC’s. She’s still a beginner and has so far relied on tracing from other drawing books or images online rather than being able to freehand. I got this to help her put her own ideas and creations down on paper so she wouldn’t feel stuck drawing the same figures over and over. This book has really great examples of different poses, hand gestures, and facial expressions, and does a good job of leading you through how to get from beginning to end rather than jumping from a cluster of circles to a finished face. When I gave it to her she was so excited and immediately started flipping through it and pointing out all of the different styles and expressions she wanted to try. It seemed like the different body poses and anatomy proportion explanations were something she hadn’t seen in any of her other books, and that’s such an important part of character drawing. This book seems really well thought out and I would highly recommend it for anyone who is getting into drawing manga/anime, both beginners and those with some basic knowledge. It would serve as a great reference to keep on hand

Great resource! The instructions start with basic shapes and get more detailed with anatomy and great tips. This was a very well-received gift for a tween-aged aspiring artist.

This book really can help someone draw anime characters! I like how the book breaks down each feature (eyes, hair, etc...) and then shows how to put it all together. The expressions section was one of my favorites! My friend's daughter tried these techniques and drew some amazing pictures! Try it!

Great drawing book with lots of variety and demonstrations. Explains how to draw a full characters starting with all the facial features and then the body, clothes, and expressions. It also has a few different styles of drawing and does other items too.
