The Best Home Espresso Machine (with Cold Brew!)
# Review: De’Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo (with built-in grinder & steam wand) **Verdict:** The **easiest home espresso machine** I’ve used. The integrated grinder is **good and noticeably quieter** than our freestanding burr grinder—quiet enough that my daughter doesn’t bolt from the room when I pull a shot. It’s simple to dial in the dose, and spent pucks release **cleanly from the basket**, which makes the whole routine fast, tidy, and low-stress. ## What stands out * **Exceptionally easy workflow:** From dose to tamp to brew, everything’s laid out logically, and the machine is forgiving. * **Quiet, built-in grinder:** Much quieter than our separate burr grinder, yet consistent enough for everyday espresso. * **Simple dose control:** Adjusting how much ground coffee you load is intuitive and repeatable. * **Clean puck knock-out:** Grounds come out of the basket with minimal sticking—cleanup is quick. ## Day-to-day experience Heat up, grind, tamp, brew—done. The combination of a calmer noise profile and predictable dosing makes morning shots smooth, and milk steaming for lattes or caps is straightforward for a casual home barista. The “all-in-one” design also keeps the counter uncluttered. ## A couple notes * I am not as discerning as some espresso heads out there, so my palate is easier to satisfy than some, but I found the taste to be great, and the crema was good right off the bat. * I like that this one has a pressure gauge instead of a touch screen--fewer parts to break and let's me figure out if I'm tamping too hard/not hard enough (though tbf I don't really notice the difference in taste). ### Bottom line If you value **quiet operation, quick setup, and minimal fuss**, the La Specialista Arte Evo is a standout. It makes dialing in and pulling daily espresso remarkably easy—and keeping the basket and counter clean might be the best part.

Game-changer for home espresso enthusiasts!
As an amateur coffee enthusiast, i was excited to upgrade my home espresso setup with the De'Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo espresso machine. After just a week of use, I'm already impressed with how it's transforming my morning routine. Setting up the machine was a breeze and i was pulling my first shot within minutes of unboxing. Speaking of shots, i was blown away by the quality of the espresso this machine produces. Rich, full-bodied, and with a beautiful crema - it's cafe quality right in my kitchen. What sets this machine apart is its versatility. Not only does it make excellent espresso, but it also offers options for cold brew and Americano. A pleasant surprise was the hot water function - it's super convenient when i want to change things up with a quick cup of tea! The programmable buttons for single and double shots, along with three temperature settings takes the guesswork out of brewing. I love that it automatically knows when to stop the extraction, ensuring consistency with every cup. The pressure display is a game-changer for an amateur like me. It works in perfect harmony with the built-in grinder, allowing me to easily adjust the grind size and dosing duration to dial in the machine quickly. By watching the pressure gauge, i can see when I've achieved the optimum pressure for extraction, helping me fine-tune my technique with every shot. The steam wand deserves special mention. It heats up quickly and products silky microfoam without scorching the milk. Cleanup is a breeze which i greatly appreciate. The tamping mat is a thoughful addition, ensuring even tamping every time. It's these little details that make the De'Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo stand out. This machine is user-friendly enough for beginners like me but offers enough customization to grow with as my skills improve. I'm excited to continue exploring all its features and perfecting my home barista skills with this fantastic machine.

Love it!
I’ve been using this machine for about a month now but I wanted to use all the features and give it some time before I wrote a review. I was a barista for several years and this is my fourth? at-home espresso machine in a few years, and I LOVE it. I genuinely didn’t know you could make espresso with bright crema on top at home until I got this machine. The texture of my lattes is smoother and creamier, the quality is better, and it’s so easy to use. I’ll start with the cons because I only have a few: •the steaming wand doesn’t move as much as others I’ve used and if I have a full pitcher of milk I either have to life the machine or spill the milk to remove it once it’s steamed. It also occasionally takes a bit of time to get going.. initially it seemed like it was getting slower over time but it seems more sporadic now. •the auto shutoff is way too quick, IMO. PROS: •The water tank and drip tray are both really large and do not have to be refilled or emptied often •very straightforward and easy to use once you figure out your initial preferences •there are several options for grind level, water heat, etc and once you figure out the best one for your coffee it makes really high quality espresso every time •the double shot is larger than most which I really like, but there’s also the single shot option • it’s SO easy and mess-free to grind and tamp the beans •milk frother can get milk really hot, and really smooth •I love the americano option, it makes things so easy • the cold brew is pretty good considering how quickly it can be made

REFUND WANTED
This will be the second time I've had to call for help to fix it. Investing a large amount to save money buying coffee and I'm not sure it will be saving if I am unable to get the machine replaced. The problems are: You have to tap on the grinder to get the coffee to keep moving down. (It could have gaps and I don't let the motor run without coffee going down to proven burning out the motor). The other problem was that I got stuck and they maintenance the machine. This took like a month to go through the whole process and get it back. Also, the grind amount and poor of the shot has really changed lately, no matter how i adjust it. When I called the manufacturer, they actually said the machine does not prefer dark roast. They recommend you don't use it, even though the book says nothing about that and actually shows you how to use dark roast. What would be helpful is an updated machine and a refund. UPDATE: I have to share that the directions on the pamphlet for dark roast are NOT correct, but after calling and getting to talk to a very helpful support person at De'longhi, I found out some very particular instructions that make the machine work: The grinder NEEDS TO BE SET at 7 or 8, which in the manual is described as COURSE vs. 1 which would be more fine "espresso" grind (this is typical too). The agent said WHILE it's grinding into the portafilter, change the setting (mine was at 5) to 7 or 8. You CAN'T change it while the grinder is not grinding so you will waste some coffee beans during this process. if you do he said it may damage the machine. So the biggest problem is that the other chats I had with agents had no idea and the directions go against this instruction so for a year I was told otherwise. For that I'm only leaving a 1 star so you all can find this and know the way that works. I hardly ever have to tap the grinder now and even at course, it's still espresso grind and it works best at 7 or 8 for dark roast. I still wish the machine was designed not to have beans get stuck at all going down and the instructions could match the agents knowledge.

The Espresso Machine That Delivers
I recently got this espresso machine and it’s been a fantastic blend of manual control and convenience. The sleek, professional design with a brushed stainless-steel finish looks great in my kitchen and its compact size makes it easy to fit on the countertop without taking up too much space. The controls are intuitive with easy-to-use dials for adjusting grind size, temperature, and extraction modes letting me personalize my coffee just how I like it. The manual steam wand is another highlight giving me the ability to create creamy microfoam for lattes and cappuccino. It does take a little practice to perfect but once you get the hang of it, the control over the milk’s texture and temperature really elevates the coffee experience. One feature I didn’t expect to use as much but now love is the cold brew setting. Instead of waiting hours like with traditional cold brew, this machine can brew smooth, cold coffee in under 5 minutes! It’s a game changer for anyone who loves cold brew but doesn’t want to wait around all day. Though the machine leans a bit more towards the manual side, it’s still beginner-friendly. Yes, there’s a learning curve, but it’s totally worth it for the precision and control you get. Whether I’m making an espresso shot, frothing milk for a latte or quickly brewing cold brew, this machine delivers professional-level results at home without the hefty café price. Overall, the La Specialista Evo Arte is a excellent choice, especially for those looking to refine their barista skills or try something new like cold brew. It combines quality and user-friendly features at a reasonable price point. It’s a great buy and a solid investment for any coffee lover who wants a professional-level experience right at home, anytime.

Access to grinder cleaning difficult!!
Makes great coffee, esspresso, capachino etc. however to clean the grinder on this particular model requires removing 12 screws 4 of which are of a design difficult to find a driver to unscrew them. The side panels are difficult to reinstall. Other models have the hopper simply twisting off for access. De’Longhi could have done a better job with this model!

Home Coffee > Coffee Shop
The De'Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo is a powerhouse when it comes to making espressos. It has consistently extracted the perfect espresso shot and extracts a good amount of flavor. I use medium light roast beans as it is my preferred bean. The espresso always comes out not too acidic, which I like best. The setup was extremely easy due to the 1 button press to flush the machine before use. I also really like how easy it is to clean. The disassembly of the water reservoir and the machine as a whole was super quick. This is a big plus as I buy machines for convenience, not to create more work for myself. One of my all time favorite features of this espresso machine is the pressure gauge and the adjustible brew temperatures. Being able to play around with the temperature and set it to my preferred temperature has been a godsend. I have been able to make my perfect espresso shit just by having this feature. The pressure gauge also lets me monitor the extraction. Another cool feature is the grinder. It has many settings to ensure proper grind size. I can get rid of my stand alone grinder and use one machine instea of two. Another nify feature is the built in steam wand. I still need to work on my latte art and my steam wand skills, but I love how I can learn how to make latte art with this machine as well. Lastly, I wanted to give De'Longhi a shoutout for the many accessories it comes with (including a tamp and even different sized baskets). With all these cool features, I would highly recommend this espresso machine to anyone who loves espressos/coffees/lattes. I haven't had a bad extraction and it is definitely going to save me a lot of money. I no longer have to go out to a coffee shop. I can just make the perfect coffee in my own home!
